It's time to take a look at the most popular WiiWare titles available on the Wii Shop Channel. If you're feeling adventurous you can even take a look for yourself by simply logging on to your Wii Shop Channel, heading into the WiiWare section and then viewing "Popular Games". It's that easy!
We compile this list using the USA region Wii Shop channel, so if you live elsewhere your list will probably be quite a bit different. Please feel free to post your region's findings below as always.
Keep in mind that the list below is a measure of actual sales made recently, not of the total time the game has been available for sale.
Here is the list for the 12th of August:
1 - Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1
2 - Reel Fishing Challenge
3 (4) - My Aquarium
4 (3) - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a Darklord
5 (7) - World of Goo
6 - Sexy Poker
7 (6) - Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
8 (8) - My Pokémon Ranch
9 (5) - Texas Hold'em Tournament
10 (9) - Tetris Party
11 (10) - Water Warfare
12 (13) - Dr Mario Online Rx
13 (12) - Family Mini Golf
14 - Overturn
15 (14) - Defend Your Castle
16 (11) - BUST-A-MOVE Plus!
17 (N) - NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits
18 (15) - Ant Nation
19 (20) - HB Arcade Cards
20 (18) - Cue Sports - Pool Revolution
* (N) - Denotes a brand new entry on the Top 20
* - Denotes a game that was not on the Top 20 last week
While there was quite a bit of movement this week, the top two games remain intact once again. Of course it is worth mentioning that both World of Goo and My Aquarium are both making their way back up towards the top.
A whopping three WiiWare titles made their debut this week, one in its week of release. Sexy Poker and Overturn both popped up on the chart after a little over a week of availability on the WiiWare service and the much-anticipated NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits jumped up onto the Top 20 within only a couple of days of release in the US. Could this title be our next #1 in the making? Of course, it's going to have to fend off Sexy Poker in order to do so.
The big climber this week was easily Sexy Poker, which jumped from off the chart completely last week all the way up to #6. The big dropper this week was BUST-A-MOVE Plus!, which dropped five spots to #16.
Having three new games make their debut on the Top 20 also meant that three titles inevitably had to drop off of the chart. 5 Spots Party, Brain Challenge and Onslaught all fell off the Top 20 this week, although the trend would suggest that some or all of them might make a return trip in the coming weeks. We'll just have to wait and find out.

First of all what in the world is sexy poker doing at #6?
I figured it would be #1 by now.
@Kenny
Its probably because they seen "Sexy" and "Poker" and said to themselves "has to to be good!' and bought it.
But seriously seeing Defend Your Castle, My Pokemon Ranch, and Dr. Mario RX, still on the top 20 is very astonishing IMO. And WoG isn't seizing to sell tremendously
Super Awesome Japanese Top 20:

16 (16) Rockman 9
17 (N) Tomenasanner Wii
18 (18) Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
19 (N) Sea Farm
20 (17) Order!
Pokemon is an unstoppable juggernaut and takes the top 3 easily. I predict FFIV: The After Years will drop into 5th by next week to see the top 4 dominated by the latest Pokemon games. Pole's Big Adventure drops out of the top 10 for the first time since release and newcomers are seen in the form of Tomenasanner Wii and Sea Farm. We'll see if these titles have legs or not. So far it's looking like no new WiiWare is coming next week so they might have a chance to shine. Wow it looks like My Aquarium is really off the top 20 -- is it for good?
Of course with new titles others have to go: Licca-Chan Oshare House, Minna no Theatre Wii, farewell!
And again just for fun, the VC top 20:
1 (2) Super Mario Bros. (FC)
2 (3) Super Mario Bros. 3 (FC)

18 (16) Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64)
19 (19) Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SFC)
20 (20) Twinbee (FC)
Nothing new this week (guess Ninja Gaiden doesn't have a lot of fans in Japan?), just a reshuffle which makes it seem that Phelios is due to drop off soon...
I think I'll be checking out NyxQuest in the weeks ahead.

WoG is making another climb
It's interesting that The Three Musketeers appeared on top 20 only in europe. Too bad because this game really deserves to be on the US list as well.
But come on...Sexy Poker at #6???
Disappointed that Monkey Island is still doing good, was hoping the initial complaints of the peoples who the got the game strait away would deter new buyers, showing telltale they have to address the problem. But surprisingly nothing of above happened and the brown stain stays on the underwear.
OH #%^&! Sexy Poker is number 6!? I can't believe this, JV Games will make Sexy Poker 2!
>.< Sexy Poker at #6? Come on! People are pathetic...
with monkey island at 1 and sexy pojer at 6 this is a depressing top 20
Hurray for NyxQuest!
I don't get why people are being quite so hard on Monkey Island, the port wasn't exceptional but the game is still good, and pretty much the only option for people like me (I have a Mac and the PC in our house doesn't have sufficient graphical oomph).
Sexy Poker at number 6 is an utter disgrace!
Well this is surprising, I honestly expected it to be #1. Ah well, maybe next week.
Welcome to the Twilight Zone: Where fishing games sell better than first person shooters, and Sexy Poker is more popular than Pokemon.
the success of a dog like sexy poker sadly will lead to further terrible games,
also rum: did you try the pc demo? it is quite scalable
I'd like to see nin expand to a top 25 or 30.
Ah, Sexy Poker. One of those games everyone loves.....to hate. There are too many jokers and lonely guys in America.
Yay! Sexy Poker is No 6! XD
Glad to see Puyo Puyo is still popular in Japan (although Puyo Puyo7 might have helped).
DAMN YOU POKÉMON! DAMN YOU!
Sexy Poker @ 6? O_O I can't believe Onslaught fell off. It was on there forever. Go NyxQuest!
So alot of people like poker, eh
I"m not surprised, everyone was waiting for this game to come out. I'm one of them and I can't wait to get more Wii points.

Sexy Poker? At 6th place!? This is madness! [/setup]
Not saying it's a good game or deserving of it's position, but why does it seem that people have turned against Sexy Poker because of its theme... While I'm not getting it either seeing as single player poker gaming is a really dumb concept, I'm not judging people it do appeal to and I can understand why they would want something like this. Cause if you actually think about it for a sec, what's more pathetic... To fall victim to one of our most primal driving forces and thereby finding gameplay involving attractive, albeit animated, scantly dressed women enjoyable (even though actual the sexiness factor in Sexy Poker is questionable) or blasting everything that appears on screen to smithereens for no other apparent reason other than killing stuff is apparently fun? Not saying FPS gaming is stupid and immature (well, I'm not doing it at this very second atleast) but isn't it peculiar that just sexuality is such a sensitive subject for so many. Just saying...
Come on people. We all joked about it, but did you really expect it NOT to actually happen? We knew it would fly up the charts. Especially with Nintendos history of asexual material, it was bound to be grabbed immediatly by any kid with points left, and every other male Wii owner with 5 minutes and a ... Wii. The list is based purely on sales, no one ever claimed it was about quality titles so it's actually a great measure of what consumers REALLY want, whether they'll openly admit it or not.
Imagine if we actually got a GOOD game with some "sexy" content, even as tame as this one; You'd all have your mouths shut about it, or at least be lying ever getting it.
Do I have to be the first to admit that I'd buy it in a second, if I thought the poker game part was at least a little deeper and there were more/better images included?
i can't believe Tales of Monkey Island is #1 the game is such a low quality port telltale should be ashamed
Ugh, Monkey Island in #1? Wth!
@Super Sonic. Sexy Poker was made by Gameloft...
Glad to see Nyxquest finally make it to the charts. That game deserves to be in the top 5. And seeing Sexy Poker at #6 is just sad.
@Ricardo91
Finally?! It's been out 2 days, it was physically impossible for it to get there sooner.
WHERE IS STRONG BAD, AKA THE BEST WiiWare GAME SO FAR?
Back from holidays. Here is the list of 12-8 from Holland. Since I've missed two weeks, I can't tell anything about who climed, who falled, who we welcomed and who left the list. That's for next week.

2) Texas Hold'em Tournament
3) My Aquarium
4) Driift Mania
5) TV Show King
6) Swords & Soldiers
7) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles My Life as a Darklord

We have turned on Sexy Poker because it is a terrible poker game wrapped in a stupid gimmick.
@Blue Protoman: A crappy Pokémon game at number 1! MADNESS!
No chart love in the US or Canada? Where's our American and Canadian love!?
@Mike
It sure seemed like people were bitching and moaning about it long before...
Aww Onslaught isn't there no more
Will check out NyxQuest soon. Seems awesome.
"Disappointed that Monkey Island is still doing good, was hoping the initial complaints of the peoples who the got the game strait away would deter new buyers, showing telltale they have to address the problem. But surprisingly nothing of above happened and the brown stain stays on the underwear."
With the memory constraints of the Wii Ware I'm actually surprised that Monkey Island even works on Wii Ware. It is far from a N64 game.
Hopefully the tech seen in Guitar Hero 5 with the live streaming from the SD card will improve future Monkey Island episodes as well as other games
