Oh how I would love to get my hands on that swag. If only I lived in New York.
Looks like it might be a good arcade style platformer I've seen for a console in a long time (not counting DLC)
Sadly I don't live in America.
Sweet! I wish we had N-events like this in Chicago. I remember the days when we had CES here too, but alas... Can't wait till this is out everywhere else.
i live in NY, but i cant see myself goin to that, if i had the $ to pick up the game i would though. I went to the punchout launch though, that was real fun.
Why can't they open more Nintendo stores elsewhere in the country?
LZ: Agreed, I miss out on a lot becuase I can't go to New York every time Nintendo has a release of a game, if I lived in New York, I still doubt I would have the time becuase I would be working 24/7 just to have a home to live in! New York is expensive!
Im about half hour from NYC. Doubt I'll have the cash, and a ride to get there.
@Supermarioman: New york is expensive? Since when?
Oh, wow, totally forgot this game was coming out in like two weeks. Between this, Arkham Asylum, Beatles Rock Band and Scribblenauts, my wallet is going to wither and die.
/facepalm
Typical. Not in Europe.
No i want some goodies x.x;! oh well i'll get my wall scroll & the game thats good enough for me ^^!
I just hope some video of the live actors hit the interwebz, that sounds like the second best part of the whole thing, besides the game actually coming out.
Darn why does NYC get all the good
g*d fricking damnit. New Yorkers don't even need to rub it in our jealous faces, the amount of stuff they get would be too much effort.
Gamestop is centered in Texas, why nothing here? Chicago's a big city, still, jack crap. Heck, nintendo even has headquarters in Washington State, but noooo, NYC all the time.
(cries in corner)
LOL i live in New York...but i don't see the point to attend this...but if you like to attend and your in New York why not go?
Of all the places I could live in right now, it has to be Arkansas. Dammit.
Wish I lived close enough to NYC to take a quick daytrip over there.
I want a sweet Muramasa t-shirt to wear around school...
if only i:
was older
had a car
had money
i could drive to new york
It would be nice if Rising Star Games did something like this for us UK gamers.
I'm in the south, so I'm gonna miss out.I'm still going to get this game though, but missing out on swag is a crime
@Fmkz: would you like to go and buy shirts for the rest of us?
It's a shame this is not in Texas.
Dammit...another reason for me live in NY!
nintendo store made to look like feudel japan thats the freekin coolest thing i heard all week i so wish i could go but at least i have the game pre-paid
I love living near New York City. I'll be sure to take pics and share them.
@fmkz: your right though. It seems like fun on paper, but actually if there was a cheesy game event like this here in Chicago I probably wouldn't go unless I could afford to buy it right then anyway. thats the whole point, so if you don't you probably can't get a whole lot of swag.
Sweet event. I'll pick uo the game when I'm ready, though.
I wish I'd have known beforehand as I live in southern New Jersey, and traveling to NY would only be two-and-a-half hours. Plus, this appears to be on a Saturday and this would have been perfect for me...alas, I don't have the money! Thank God that I preordered though, I don't that I'll get my wall scroll with my game but the game is most important.
Philadelphia PA gets no respect (twenty-five miles away). I mean, the city was the birthplace of the country yet gets treated like the armpit of the Northeast...
@Wolfcoyote...not to get off topic...but how does Philly get trwated like the armpit of the Northeast. I'll admit we are overlooked sometimes with NYC being 2 hours north and DC being 2 hours south but I grew up with the belief the NJ was the armpit of the nation. Yeah you have the shore...but what else do you have? I'm not insulting Jersey mind you.
What happened to the top 20?
Man, if you don't live in London or New York you miss out on so many awesome game launch thingies.
I am just repeating everyone else’s comments, but it would be cool to have a massive Nintendo Store in the UK, putting on flashy events like this. I would not even mind “the cheese”, it would be funny to see Muramasa themed characters clashing it out against feudal Japanese backdrops. I’d take many a ‘Samurai Shodown’ type photo.
I also like the way in which Ignition Entertainment enthusiastically publishes SNK Playmore titles, if they support Vanillaware titles too, then I’m all for it.
Doh! wish I lived in NY.
They need more Nintendo stores, maybe one in each state, but how could expect it from Nintendo?
Blue Protoman: Proud to be a New Yorker!
nuts, that's a 5 minute walk away, too bad it's labor day weekend and not this weekend
We know we already posted this, we're just bumping it back up as a reminder to those who wish to attend the event.
i so wish i was there the shirt and free gift i am wondering what it is most likely not the wall scroll thats pre-orders only from gs or gc
tobad they wont sell cds of the music so far from the videos i love the soundtrack
busy on that day unfortunately : ( shame, im close enough to go, i feel like im letting all you done by not makin it =P
Gamestop called and said my pre-order of the game is coming tomorrow...hm, what's the right date? I'm confused. :l
I contacted their PR Firm to find out what the deal is with the release date and I've not received a reply so far. As I said, they're having this "Early Release Party" in NYC tomorrow, so if the game is actually released to everyone tomorrow, these guys are actually going to be getting it after the game is released.
omg i wish i could go there! i also wish i had a wii too lol
i wish i lived in New York...damnit Nintendo! why can't you make a store in Houston too?
GameStop called me too. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if the game is coming in or not.
Thanks Corbie. Guess we'll wait and see then. I really don't care if it comes out tomorrow, because I still need to collect my money...
Umm.. Why is this article back out? Oh I really hope that it is released tomorrow, I want to play it so bad!
It's back out because the PR firm sent us a reminder and rather than make a whole new news item about the same thing, I bumped it, as you can read in my comment #39 above and the new tagline on the news article.
Hopefully y'all can expect hi-res pictures and a video from me. If not, I'll have to use my DSi. I guarantee there'll be pictures, though.
How is it "early"? The game comes out September 4th. Maybe early for you Britons.
Will they show more trailers at the launch party? If so, I'm in.
The Gamestop store here has the game for anyone curious about it.
Will this game eventually published in Europe too?
Slated for Q4 2009 here
curses! new york again! why can tthey have something special back in L.A.
