Looks like Club Nintendo updates aren't just for Europe this week now that its American counterpart has gone ahead and added a slew of stationary to its offerings.
For 250 Coins, you're able to snag a folder and bookmark (three of each per) set with a Bowser, Toad & Friends or Mario & Friends theme. Big spenders can throw down 300 coins for a 12-piece greeting card set featuring either Mario & Luigi or Nintendogs (specifically: dachshund, labrador and Chihuahua) themes.
While you're at it, don't forget to fill out the Bonus survey worth a free 30 Coins – you'll be one-tenth closer to spreading Chihuahua cheer.
Thanks to reader Jonathan Watkins for the tip!

@Strofan7
Agreed. I was a bit bummed when I saw this earlier.
Hey, they still updated, didn't they
I would like to say that this is better than nothing, but now they have an excuse not to update it for another few months.
Woo-hoo. Still don't have soundtracks, statues, and beach towels.
I'm just gonna be patient. It's not like it's the last update ever, and they did just barely collect data on what everyone would like to see...
Some how I think getting this is partially my fault for saying I'm 13/14 years old on the 95 surveys I've filled out of the year. Curse you Nintendo for putting up items appropriate to my age!
(They are kind of nice if you only have 250 coins left over from something though)
YEAH!!! MOAR STUF 4 US CUB NINTEHNDOH!!!
...wait...just notebooks? Thank you so much, NOA. Thank you so much.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...snurk!
Wha...? Oh, more uninteresting paraphanalia...figures...
zzzzzzzzzzzz...
All right, which one of yous thought it would be funny to put folders and bookmarks on your survey?
I want game soundtracks dammit!
Boo! This update is bad and Nintendo should feel bad.
S'about time. Even if they're not the greatest. Also, this news post is misleading. I got really excited about having a Mario-themed binder but was disappointed to see that they're only folders. Please rectify!
Anyway, I may end up getting the Bowser set.
Good that this time it didn't take a whole year. They are useless but don't seem too bad.
seriously US Club Nintendo. Seriously. Please try harder to push me away from the Wii Brand and any sort of company loyalty.
Nintendo's missteps counter just grew by one.
If I were in 5th grade this may have been appealing.
For those who haven't figured it out yet--this may be the time to get a PS3
@Swerd_Murd ...you are considering leaving Nintendo because they are not giving you free stuff that you like? Okkaayyyy....
I do have to agree though that this is horrible. I would be caught dead carrying around video-game folders, and I don't think my grandma would get it if the card I sent her had Bowser on it....
Well cool they finally updated it but gosh.......folders, bookmarks, and greeting cards?? Step it up Nintendo....Although, I did get the Bowser set
One word "crap". You're telling me that we have to spend over five hundred dollars on Nintendo games just for nintendo to give us a stack of greetings card or a stupid binder! Pretty lame! That's like less than a ten dollar value!
How about some free Nintendo Points!
C'mon Man!
I want some better stuff, but it's still pretty cool stuff up there.
I filled out the survey and asked for points or games to be available- even if at usurious rates. Whoever asked for folders, bookmarks and greeting card sets, you are dead to me.
really noa just really
they updated...but with boring items......waaahhhhhhhhh
I can't decide whether to get the Bowser folders or wait until I have enough coins to get the Zelda posters.
Useless, but at least they updated, and they are asking for user input for what items they should offer. Make good suggestions!!!
Got an error after submitting the 30 coin survey and did not get coins and I cannot take it again because the site thinks i took it. Latest version of XP and Firefox and I have not had problems using these things before. The survey must be messed up.
worked the second time. must have been a glitch. still... D:<
Winter, the same thing happened to me. I got quite worried.
@Pheonix I did ask for more Japanese Club Nintendo awards, but I thought that would mean soundtracks, not stupid paperwork things. You have all the right to punch me in the soul.
@Swerd_Murd: I have a PS3 and last time I checked Sony doesn't give you butt butter for registering games. I could be wrong, but as far as I know, Nintendo is the only game company offering free stuff to their loyal customers. The update doesn't interest me either, but didn't you enjoy the games that earned you the club nintendo points?
this will be great for school
Yeah, there aren't any binders. Darn, I need a new one...
...that's it? sigh
>.<
really? give us somwthing usefull like being able to get points just like Europe
school is finally interesting!
But we want more!
For what it's worth, i doubt this update has anything to do with the survey. I doubt they've even started looking at the data yet, seeing as it was still on the front page of CN as of yesterday. It takes time to get enough people to actually do the survey to be worthwhile, then analyze the data, then design and produce new awards. I would think the earliest the survey results would have an effect on awards would be late spring/summer.
Lackluster update items but thanks for the mentioning the survey and free coins, I'm off to do that straightaway!
There really isn't any point in getting coins, since the prizes are all horrible.
Lame update! Instead why didn't we get these fun prizes:
2000 Nintendo Points Cards (2000 Coins)
Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon Plush Toys (200-500 Coins)
Exclusive Virtual Console/WiiWare downloads (500-1500 Coins)
Now I REALLY want to set up Club Nintendo!
...even though I still got problems with setting up and am leaving for the Dominican Republic December 21...
I think retro controllers would be cool to get. Like a redone N64 controller where the joystick doesn't wear down. That way, people who like to play N64 games, they can play it comfortably like they were intended. On top of that, nintendo could then release more N64 VC games.
Wow, the rewards just keep getting suckier and suckier.
I want the 18 card DS slot case that Japan has now (please Nintendo?)
Stupid Club Nintendo AUS/NZ...........
SO far we only have:
*Wii remote Holder
*Mario Face Towels
*Game & Watch Collection
*Cartridge Case
*Cartridge and Stylus Case
@Good: 2000 coins for $20 worth of Wii Points? Are you NUTS? No WAY that should cost so much, especially with plush toys costing 500 coins.
@Bobpie: And I'm still jealous of your face towels. Sure beats THIS rot.
Hey, at least we got portfolios and other stationary than the digital wallpapers!

The Nintendo Points cards and the digital downloads are a bad idea to suggest. It would be better to see more physical/real rewards than those two. The Nintendo plush toys are a good idea though.

Well all right then.
CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA soul punch no jutsu oh god a naruto reference someone soul punch me D:
Also lame update is lame. Where are our points cards man...
@Courtest
Crap...I forgot to ask for an N64 classic controller. I ask for that on every VC game I download. (Yes, even if it's not N64, I twist my survey answers for it.)
I Just Ordered the Zelda Poster Series so i'm back down to 100 Coins
I had 690 coin's & I ordered a Mario DS game rack. But now putting school supply on Club.Nintendo that poo why don't the put Game & Watch Collection 2 or golden Link.Cmon Nintendo put at least one great reward on Club.Nintendo so were keeping our finger's crossed.
Okay, whose the joker that suggested they put in folders in that Club Nintendo survey.
"Stuffgamer: @Bobpie: And I'm still jealous of your face towels. Sure beats THIS rot."
The face towels ARE awesome......
Not only do they have an old-school Mario on them, they're actually great face towels, too!
