Re: Xbox Officially Enters The Handheld Space, But Nintendo Won't Be Worried

Having used the Rog Ally X in Windows and replaced it with Bazzite, the performance improvement is massive in Linux. Faster load times, better FPS and double my battery on most games. This was a £800 device for me and I'm very concerned what the strategy is, especially when we'll see Rog Ally 2 very likely in 2026, which will eclipse this device significantly and Steam Deck 2. The Switch 2 at £400 is looking an absolute steal right now.

I'll be very interested to see how the Switch 2 runs this game. It's a rough experience at times on my Asus Rog X via FSR 3/Fluid Frames 2. That can run the likes of Silent Hill 2, Indiana Jones and South of Midnight pretty well. Maybe it will be locked to 30fps with DLSS and some optimisation wizardry will get it over the line. I feel like this and Cyberpunk will be a good barometer to show where Switch 2 is year one.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

@RupeeClock Argos wise last week after purchasing a few hours later I had an email with the order confirmation and a text to say order confirmed. Payment came off my bank card same day.

Re: Xbox Confirms It's Looking Into A Potential Handheld Device

The best handheld I've ever had so far has been the Rog Ally X. Pricey at £800, but an incredible piece of kit. Highly recommended and alongside my switch, that's a ton of games and platforms covered. Whilst I'm excited to see what MS do, by the point of release we'll probably have Rog Ally 2, Steam Deck 2 and whatever handheld Sony are working on. For MS the future is cloud, which for me on the Rog X works brilliantly and publishing.

Re: Yakuza Kiwami Dev Confirms Physical Switch Release

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, hundreds of hours of fallout may of caused my brain to suffer severe radiation poisoning. Why are we getting this before Zero? Was Zero on an older platform? Also I agree with previous comments, great to see a physical release, but no code in a box please.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Horror Games

Sinking city is on my list with Outlast. SC has its issues, but it has an interesting open world and the most scared I've been in a boss fight since the early silent hill games. Frogware said that Silent Hill was one of its influencers when making this game. It's rough at times, but we've been loving it.

Re: Talking Point: So, Where Does Switch Fit Into Sony And Microsoft's Next Gen Landscape?

Switch:
As much as I love my switch I do worry with all the PC like hardware that Sony and Microsoft are releasing. I see third party games drying up as developers start to rely on the fast SSD units when making next gen games. Thus making it very hard for the Switch to keep getting ports.
I honestly thought they needed a huge game like Zelda BOTW 2 to release holiday season to keep consumer focus on the switch. These console sale figures are great, but I don't feel like they have enough first party games to keep the momentum in to 2021. Is the future going to be a first party game every 6th months and old ports and 2d Indies. That's what worries me.

Cloud:
As regards Xcloud I've been hammering it since beta and it's been impressive. HALO 5, Batman Dark Night both running very well on my Pixel 3XL. Add a Razor add on and that's a smart little handheld. Placing it in to the Ultimate Game Pass model is very smart.
Stadia is probably my most used platform right now, hardly any issues and currently enjoying Metro in 4ak. The games have been looking stunning, as said before only as good as your internet but loving the easy access to games and no downloads..

Re: Review: Call Of Cthulhu - Oppressive Cosmic Horror That's Plagued By Problems

Well we are a few hours in to this and really enjoying it. Huge fan of the original Xbox game and so far engrossed in the world, even though it could do with a lick of paint visually. Only issue really has been the load times, but after Little Nightmares we've kinda gotten used to it if it happens. IGN have this an 8+ on other platforms and loved the atmosphere and story. So far I'm scoring 7-8. If you like horror or have an interest in Cthulhu then give it a go.

Re: Video: Here's How The Witcher 3 On Switch Compares To The PS4 Version

vesemir0

Day one buy for me and that's after having it on Xbox and PS4. For me easily one of the best games and stories I've played over the last decade. Yes technically it won't match PC/consoles, but I prefer to look at the positives and I'm ultra excited to be seeing this on my favourite console. The more compelling games that come to the Switch the better. Half-life 2 The Orange Box remastered anyone?
