Day one for me and can't wait. What a brilliant time it is to be alive and a fan of Nintendo. Can't wait to see what 2026 brings on my favourite hardware of all time, a perfect partner to the upcoming Steam Machine.
@Divide_and_Wander I've had both Rog Ally machines and since I move the X to Bazzite the performance in games and battery is significant. I'm a Linux guy anyway so I'm used to finding work arounds as regards Windows apps. Any questions I'm here.
@Divide_and_Wander No issues my end stable 50fps, but I'm not using Windows and that's the key as I'm seeing substantial performance improvements using Linux.
So far this is a brilliant game in my humble opinion. I pretty much buy every horror game going, and I'm finding so many things to love in this game. I'm playing this alongside Silent Hill 2 remake and for me it's up there with that. Highly recommended.
What a fantastic port. I've played this game on Xbox Series X, Rog Ally and Rog Ally X and this gives me a great deal of confidence for the future of Switch 2 with heavy games.
Played this heavy on the Steam Deck and Rog Ally X, so I felt pretty confident this would be a really good Switch 2 port. Excited for this and the follow up.
@rvcolem1 So far performance is much better on Switch 2. No patches, just better on the upgraded hardware, so the graphics are ok. Early doors a solid 30fps.
Having used the Rog Ally X in Windows and replaced it with Bazzite, the performance improvement is massive in Linux. Faster load times, better FPS and double my battery on most games. This was a £800 device for me and I'm very concerned what the strategy is, especially when we'll see Rog Ally 2 very likely in 2026, which will eclipse this device significantly and Steam Deck 2. The Switch 2 at £400 is looking an absolute steal right now.
Very interested to see how this runs as I've played the game on a high end gaming laptop, Asus Rog Ally X and Series X. I have to say though that £69.99 here in the UK is pricey. You can purchase Xbox Ultimate version for £30. I can't wait for the hardware, very excited. Game prices though continue to concern me.
I'll be very interested to see how the Switch 2 runs this game. It's a rough experience at times on my Asus Rog X via FSR 3/Fluid Frames 2. That can run the likes of Silent Hill 2, Indiana Jones and South of Midnight pretty well. Maybe it will be locked to 30fps with DLSS and some optimisation wizardry will get it over the line. I feel like this and Cyberpunk will be a good barometer to show where Switch 2 is year one.
@RupeeClock Argos wise last week after purchasing a few hours later I had an email with the order confirmation and a text to say order confirmed. Payment came off my bank card same day.
The best handheld I've ever had so far has been the Rog Ally X. Pricey at £800, but an incredible piece of kit. Highly recommended and alongside my switch, that's a ton of games and platforms covered. Whilst I'm excited to see what MS do, by the point of release we'll probably have Rog Ally 2, Steam Deck 2 and whatever handheld Sony are working on. For MS the future is cloud, which for me on the Rog X works brilliantly and publishing.
This is one of my happiest days in my gaming history and to be released the day before my partner has important surgery which I'm already stressed about. Knowing X will be there to help me try to de-stress is a wonderful thing.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, hundreds of hours of fallout may of caused my brain to suffer severe radiation poisoning. Why are we getting this before Zero? Was Zero on an older platform? Also I agree with previous comments, great to see a physical release, but no code in a box please.
Another factor is MS are strongly tipped to announce whatever the Xbox handheld is before the end of the year. Plus Valve, MSI and Asus are sure to launch new devices by mid 2025. Nintendo aren't the only player in the handheld market anymore. Strategy is going to be critical.
@shgamer No disrespect to the Switch, but you are better off playing it on the Steam Deck and picking it up on Steam or CD keys. £11 when checked. So far not really had any games in my library that the Steam Deck has struggled with.
Finished this game on PC with my best friend. We absolutely loved it. If your a fan of the classic horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil you'll love it. I think we paid £6 on PC.
Tried absolutely everything could find on the internet without success. Ended up backing up all my data to cloud, factory reset and started trying to download again with also a fresh SD card. After a couple of download errors with BOTW no further issues. Everything is working fine. Now on the 4th game downloading without a single error.
Sinking city is on my list with Outlast. SC has its issues, but it has an interesting open world and the most scared I've been in a boss fight since the early silent hill games. Frogware said that Silent Hill was one of its influencers when making this game. It's rough at times, but we've been loving it.
Switch: As much as I love my switch I do worry with all the PC like hardware that Sony and Microsoft are releasing. I see third party games drying up as developers start to rely on the fast SSD units when making next gen games. Thus making it very hard for the Switch to keep getting ports. I honestly thought they needed a huge game like Zelda BOTW 2 to release holiday season to keep consumer focus on the switch. These console sale figures are great, but I don't feel like they have enough first party games to keep the momentum in to 2021. Is the future going to be a first party game every 6th months and old ports and 2d Indies. That's what worries me.
Cloud: As regards Xcloud I've been hammering it since beta and it's been impressive. HALO 5, Batman Dark Night both running very well on my Pixel 3XL. Add a Razor add on and that's a smart little handheld. Placing it in to the Ultimate Game Pass model is very smart. Stadia is probably my most used platform right now, hardly any issues and currently enjoying Metro in 4ak. The games have been looking stunning, as said before only as good as your internet but loving the easy access to games and no downloads..
Absolutely hammered this on PS4. Now playing on Switch, yes slightly blurry, but still looks quite nice even on my big 4k screen and plays very smoothly. Which for this game is very important. This seems like a miracle. Purchased the physical to support th developer and no regrets. Gorgeous map, book etc and I wish more developers would take note.
Well we are a few hours in to this and really enjoying it. Huge fan of the original Xbox game and so far engrossed in the world, even though it could do with a lick of paint visually. Only issue really has been the load times, but after Little Nightmares we've kinda gotten used to it if it happens. IGN have this an 8+ on other platforms and loved the atmosphere and story. So far I'm scoring 7-8. If you like horror or have an interest in Cthulhu then give it a go.
Day one buy for me and that's after having it on Xbox and PS4. For me easily one of the best games and stories I've played over the last decade. Yes technically it won't match PC/consoles, but I prefer to look at the positives and I'm ultra excited to be seeing this on my favourite console. The more compelling games that come to the Switch the better. Half-life 2 The Orange Box remastered anyone?

Absolutely loving this so far. Yes would of liked to of seen better than 30fps, but graphically in dock mode I'm blown away. Great work Ubisoft.

@PanFriedSoup Your not wrong, booted this up on my Rog Ally X and it wasn't as stable as the Switch 2 version.
