According to Wikipedia this was the 400th wii virtual console game, so I was hoping a first party big name like Yoshi's Island, Mario Picross or SNES Star Fox, but PoP is ok.
Its particularly easy to understand that accent for me, being native speaker of spanish, but I dont like it at all, I got used to the american accent on games and the WWE
My top 5 classic Super Mario games: 1. Super Mario Bros. 3 (GBA with e-reader levels preferred) 2. Super Mario 64 3. Super Mario World 4. Super Mario Bros. 5. Super Mario Land
My top 5 modern Super Mario games: 1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 2. Super Mario Galaxy 3. Super Mario 3D Land 4. Super Mario Sunshine 5. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
IMO my lists have very different titles in order to be compared and have an overall #1 for the series, but this time I voted for Super Mario Galaxy 2, since it is staying behind
I dont like it, recycling the banner shape from past consoles doesnt convey the innovation that WiiU stands for. I dont really like blue, but I can understand its part of WiiU branding, contrasts with the nintendo network logo making it more noticeable and it will stand out on retailer shelves, on the other hand I cant find any justificantion nor liking for the yellow line. I would rather go with a small U shaped banner (metalic aqua) crossing the upper left edge to the other side of the box, "n" logo on the upper right.
It all comes down to teaching kids which events happen in real life and which dont, and that unlike video games, actions and its consecuences are irreversible and most of them unavoidable in real life. This restrictions are a dumb faulty patch not a solution.
There should be a set number of characters for each 3rd party taking part (Namco included), only the most representative, 2 from each one at most. And IMO Tekken is far from being Namco's most representative, Pac-Man, Mappy, Mr. Driller, SC are
As long as they dont force us with exclusive features for downloaders, I think its a fair compensation if downloads will be priced the same as retail copies, still I prefer physical copies whenever avialable. I really like to take part in the NL facebook polls
@James (or anyone patching) Do the DK jungle and Koopa Cape glitches still work? Do both Wuhu courses glitches and the Bowser castle one still work on time trials? Otherwise the current records will be unbeatable.
Also, the American eShop description says the patch will be required for online play only after May 16th, so at least for today many people could still play online without the patch and be able to glitch, while users with the patch would have to sit and see them win the race. Maybe I will try online until the 16th just to be safe.
I would prefer the NES trilogy direct sequel to be based on SMB3, maybe a mix of all three past games, but it would be a step backwards relying entirely on SMB2 for this sequel IMO. Considering the reasons of this text (mainly multiplayer), a possible NSMBW2 would fit much better for a SMB2 sequel.
I just hope that by "shortcuts" they mean all the glicthes and ONLY the gltches (not every shortcut). And that they either allow the use of glitches in time trials, or reset the records for tracks with glitches, otherwise the current world records would become unbeatable
I would consider getting Defenders of Oasis, I am also expecting Virtua Fighter What non-Sonic game do you guys think is the one that best represents GG? I would say Super Columns, but IMO Defenders of Oasis would also fit this
@BulbasaurusRex: Yes, the promotion was only through one-time use passwords, but only for the US and it wasnt in guidebooks, it was in specially marked new copies of B&W games. I was let down by the fact that we people in Mexico dont get all the promotions for US nor all the Euro ones, just some of both, however this time we got access to this promotion (Maybe also the rest of America, not sure) People, be aware that the password for this promotion varies with the language you set your PGL to.
I bought the 3DS version yesterday, and I am really happy because somehow I have set a new WR for athletics 100m. to 9.262 s. which also breaks the Wii version and 2008 records, (I know you cant compare records for different games, but let me be)
Well, I think I am the only one here that liked this game. True, the full XBLA or PSN for retail or this version for 500 p. would fit much better and I also consider the GB and arcade much better options, but IMO thats not a reason to give this a 3
I love the new look, specially the 404 page lol, but my OCD isnt happy with many identical color codes and merging eShop products since they are as different as their Wii Shop Channel counterparts, which were not merged. I wouldve loved a "like" button, the game collection, user messaging and topic search features. Still its a nice redesign and a step forward IMO, Congrats!
I hardly ever notice difference in frame rate and I always use my 3DS with the depth slider to the top, so I would've preferred 30fps in 3D. But thats just me, I have never been interested in this game, but I wouldnt like fps to take priority over 3d in more games.
Thank God they realized an overused and nonsense brand contradicts the innovative image they try to project. If they really want to appeal both N, MS and Sony fanboys, core and casual alike they should go with something by _______ Nintendo Entertainment System. (Ultimate, Omega, Universal, Hyper, Multi, New... Seventh?)
What Corbs said, IMO that is a list of generic shooters (with slightly different stories and identical gameplay) with a sprinkle of boring RPGs and Just Dance, I miss the days when people valued fun and variety in games over online and graphics.
I downloaded all of them when they came out and kept them thinking they could get a collectible status if they were never re-released, I even gifted Dr. Mario to a friend so he could send me back the demo for this game. But this re-release is good for both Nintendo and us.
I love the f-zero series, they are the only games where I could say in all honesty I am unbeatable. But I agree with most people here, this game was pretty dated even by the time it originally came out, and GP legends improves on every aspect, story, game modes, controls, characters... By the way, why is C. Falcon on the banner for this review (one of the reasons I dislike Maximum Velocity is because C. Falcon doesnt appear in the game at all)
I remember this game was announced to use SpotPass, even in eShop and nintendo.com. Did I miss something needed to activate it? or is that info. wrong? Do this game appears on your "Extra data" under Data management of 3DS settings?
I was thinking this morning about this, with club.nintendo and 3DS free content overall, I am so very grateful. Wii freebies? NA didnt even got the Kirby channel and demos are a good step up, but they are limited time downloads, I understand a demo is just a teasing, not a game but limited time downloads hurt the potential promotion, they could limit demos otherwise.
Got them this morning, after playing them (again, since I have 9 of those carts) I think they are a much better, solid and diverse choice than the NES games. But still not perfect, I'd take M&LSS over FE any day, and most people wil agree F-Zero GP Legends > FZMV
@allthetimeineed @rjejr My surveys expiring in 2012 - 2015 for the months of Dec and Nov: Mario All Stars, Mario Galaxy, Mario vs. DK (the latest one) wont load when clicking them and the artwork is gone. What if to-do surveys previously listed expiring 2015 wont last now beyond Nov 2012 as part of the site update? Do you think its possible?
@47drift: Same here, it took me a while to find where everything is located in this new set up, By the way @anyone knows where to find the expire year of to-do surveys? Or should we assume to-do surveys previously listed expiring 2015 wont last now beyond 2012?
I own all carts except Fire Emblem, well regarded amogst gamers but I think there are many people like me who are not that into RPGs and would have prefered the more friendly M&LSS over FE . But I think we all agree WW twisted > WW and FZGPL > FZMV... at least I got 3 out of my 5 choices Minish Cap, Amazing mirror and Wario Land 4, nice to have em on 3DS

@James: You're welcome! Oh I almost forgot, accomplishments for Mexico are only 77, so I would assume one of them has something to do with the StreetPass Map feature.
@James New information: -The Slideshow icon is not available if you have no panels completed. -Mexico is still limited to add funds on blocks of MX$ 60, 120, 250 and 600 (& no prepaid cards here) -The StreetPass Map icon wont show up if your 3DS is set to a region with no map available for this feature (like Mexico). It appeared when I changed my region to U.S. but even when the game saved after I checked the map, it didnt stay when I changed back to Mexico (Nintendo Video wont work if 3DS region isnt set to your actual location, and it would also affect your region in every online game) Questions: -Can you chose which games/data to transfer and which not? (the way transfering from DSi worked) -Is ALL of the Activity log transfered? (Daily records AND Software library, including erased titles) -Is Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection setup (DS games) transfered? is it deleted? or just stays on source?
WiiU=PS3 x1.5, but a next generation console power should be at least =PS3 x2, so anything higher than US$300 would be unfair, it should only be a little past the MSRP for the PS3 at WiiU launch day, assuming all of its features are available from start... and that they cut away the ties to the old fashioned Wii brand changing that stupid name for the new console.
@nick_gc: Try explaining the buyer this situation, and maybe you can convince him to let you ship the 3DS on Dec 8th with no consecuences for the delay, no harm in asking,
I personally dont like the secret characters shown at IGN, and while some people may love them I think we all agree the character roster is really short for a 2011 Mario Kart, I also expected more game modes. I dont know if its even possible, but it really needs DLC characters and modes, from what Ive read I think this incomplete (IMO) game was rushed (because of 3DS sales slow start). Not nearly as good as MKDS (best MK IMO), I hope playing it can change my mind.
@James: I might look like a retard but I have no idea on how to use twitter, their tags or that link things, and to be honest I am not even a little interested to learn I think facebook already eats much of my time. WiiU is so far an epic fail IMO, you cant even hope to have a creative image and target a different audience if you are sticking to the previous branding, a hit from the controller could kill you, AFAIK WiiU=PS3x1.5 when a graphically competitive next gen console should be WiiU>PS3x2, also 2012 is premature for next gen. Super Mario Land is not Mario's (nor SMB series) first ever appearance on a handheld http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Game_%26_Watch_games#Super_Mario_Bros.
My top 5 classic Super Mario games:
1. Super Mario Bros. 3 (GBA with e-reader levels preferred)
