Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

tripunktoj

First saw it on facebook and I thought my friend was trolling. I actually kind of like it, yes its weird and being a 3DS redesign that confuses the branding with no 3D and no 2nd stick is missing the point (form an adult gamer's perspective), but it'd look nice as a "desk 3DS" in my room and it appears more comfortable. I collect american Nintendo systems and games, so I'll get it anyway, my only doubt is which color to get. Its strange, a week ago I was thinking it was my XL's birthday and how it arrived just a year later than 3DS, I expected a redesign but maybe in 2014 and not in this shape. And I don't see it as another Wii Mini (even Nintendo knew it, releasing in few countries) 2DS arrives in a healthy point in 3DS lifespan with a clear target customer, Wii Mini didn't, and lacking 3D and stereo speakers in a handheld is not nearly as restrictive as lacking Wi-Fi (DL games included) SD card, controllers & accessories.

Re: Review: Donkey Kong (3DS eShop / NES)

I got the Original Edition on 3DS (and IMO it controls like a dream with the Circle Pad) so I wont be getting this, not even as a future club.nintendo reward, but its great news the regular version is released for people who missed DKOE.

Re: Capcom Reiterates Stance On Further Disney Remastering

tripunktoj

Isnt Jimmy Rey the username of producer Rey Jimenez on Capcom forums? I don't see the more Disney remasteings statement getting further weight if its the same person repeating the same thing. Don't get me wrong Id love to see Ducktales sequel, Rescue Rangers 1&2 and Little Mermaid getting the treatment (as for the other Disney titles... not really, specially the SNES ones) Im just trying to stay realist.

Re: Weirdness: Hackers Use NES Pad To Drive Car

That, and a cheap electric powered car, would be the only way I will ever get a car. Seriously, I just cant control those things, it takes like 3 spins of the steering wheel for most cars to turn a couple degrees to the right or left.

Re: Nintendo of America Offers Free Wii U eShop Credit If You Splash the Cash

tripunktoj

At the bottom of the page it reads its only valid for US and Canada, I thought Mexico and Brazil (where eShop and deluxe program are also available, unlike the rest of latin America) would also be elegible since it uses your Nintendo Network ID and email and doesn't looks like it uses club.nintendo. I can just change regions, create an ID in those countries and use an international credit card, but maybe the difference in exchange rates consumes the extra $10, which defeats the purpose of all this hassle.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey

tripunktoj

The only part that really disappointed me of Nintendo's E3 (if it can be considered part of the E3 events) is that most of us didn't get to receive all of the SpotPass gold Miis in our 3DS because of the poor quality SpotPass system! (it wasnt even our fault)

The best of E3, Mega Man in Smash of course... oh and Miiverse E3 communities.

Re: Eiji Aonuma and Hideki Konno Wander Into The StreetPass Mii Plaza

tripunktoj

So, I have my 3DS in sleep mode every day until I go to bed and still miss content, this is unfair. I am considering to turn that thing off and stop caring. I am very upset end disappointed with Nintendo and this situation, I ve just learned I missed yet another SpotPass Mii (Hayashida), they should make up for it and redistribute them...or at least tell us the reason why many of us are left behind in order to do sometnig about it.

Re: Eiji Aonuma and Hideki Konno Wander Into The StreetPass Mii Plaza

tripunktoj

I have a 3DS XL (which I main, with region set to Mexico, where I live) and a 3DS (with region set to US, because my current location misses a lot of content). I received Miyamoto in both, but Iwata only appeared on 3DS, I had to change region to US in my XL for it to get Iwata, the same happened with Aonuma (yesterday) and Tezuka (today) but none of my consoles could get Konno, no matter how many times I change region, turn on and off the power, wireless switch, SpotPass settings or even my router. A year ago I got Reggie, but I've just learned about a SpotPass Moffit I missed. I haven't had any problems at all with Swapnote or other SpotPass content.

Re: Satoru Iwata's Mii Respectfully Asks To Infiltrate Your 3DS

tripunktoj

He arrived yesterday to my 3DS, but no matter how many times I reset my router, turn on and off my 3DS XL, the wireless switch or check spotpass functionality on Settings, Miiplaza, Swapnote and even Nintendo video, he just wont show up on my 3DS XL! I didn't have this issue with past Spotpass Tags, any idea on whats happening?

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd May 2013 (North America)

tripunktoj

It'll be Balloon Fight (free update form Ambassador version) and Tank! Tank! Tank! (free content only), and maybe Dillon's Rolling Western later this week (just to get its special notes in swapnote). I'll be keeping an eye on Kung Fu Rabbit and Bear Shark

Re: Video: Here's Some Footage Of The Rayman Legends Challenges App

tripunktoj

I got 1586m on yestreday's challenge, 20.26s on today's one and only got to 38.31s in the weekly... after spending 18 hours on the game of course. Its a shame you have to unlock the extreme ones, I missed yesterday's (They're way harder, got diamond cups in all regular challenges so far, and barely made it to silver on today's extreme)

Re: Review: NAM-1975 (Wii Virtual Console / Neo Geo)

tripunktoj

Wow! NAM-1975! When new systems were announced for VC, I researched for their first and most representative titles... this is the first Neo Geo game! I spent years waiting for this, but at this point and at the same prices I'm not sure if I'll get it and I wouldn't like 100 spare points just floating there in my account. I didn't see that coming, even if it was to be expected now that most known fighting Neo Geo titles have been released. With this my hope on Mayhem in Monsterland, Devil's World and Mario's Super Picross is renewed, if any of those is released Ill sure get it with NAM.

Re: Nintendo to Pull the Plug on Several Online Wii Channels

tripunktoj

I am really going to miss all of them, sure I used them much more time back when they were launched, but I still check them 2 or 3 times a week each. We get news and forecast in many other ways, but Ill miss their style (the cat mostly). Dark Gary and Alison will live forever in my Wii memories (I cried during last episode). Check Mii Out left a legacy of Miis which wouldn't otherwise come to exist (including my 200+ Miis, yes I made a Mii for every contest... and only placed 1st on one). I wonder if my perfect attendance record of Everybody Votes polls will remain or be viewable.

Re: Interview: Michael Pachter On Wii U, 3DS And The Challenges Facing Nintendo This Generation

tripunktoj

Right, people with affinity for Nintendo tend to be less rational and more emotional in their reactions to Pachter, but that fact alone doesn't imply that all people who accept his comments are rational, nor that his comments are rational and thoughtful.

Right, protecting investors from ploughing their money into a company which won’t give them a return is his job, but it doesn't mean that he does exactly that in the practice. Mostly his information is right but incomplete, only expanding on Nintendo's mistakes, ignoring or diminishing their strengths and opportunities while overrating MS. Incomplete information and his biased analysis (most of the time) leads me to think he uses his job to drive public perception and investment in the best way for him, his business fellows and/or the firm he works, not the best way for investors.

"I’m not sure that they can recover and think that they may have blown it on the console side forever. I think that they should consider exiting the console business ... " (I'd like to think that he missed the word online before the word multiplayer, anyone who expects to be working on this industry should know that online multiplayer is not the only multiplayer mode nor the most important one, and as analyst he should know Nintendo had multiplayer since NES and DK arcades in the 80s) ---sarcasm start--- Yes, because everyone has that much interest in HD and multiplayer, the industry and its components will remain the same from now, changes and new opportunitites will never arise again in any area and Nintendo has no more money ---end of sarcasm---

But yea, I agree he doesn't hate Nintendo, he just protects his commercial interests (which are not in Nintendo). He gets money ruining the perception of Nintendo with fallacies (that isnt hate). Here are a couple articles with the information to back me up.

Re: Site News: Happy "Nintendo Life" Anniversary!

tripunktoj

I am the kind of person that most of the time hates changes, so four years ago when I found that my beloved sites for WiiWare VC reviews (and possibly the only ones) that I found and loved since 2007 were going to merge with another I was sad and feared it would no longer be the same great and friendly site covering every download. Happily I was proved wrong, and even when I miss the style of the old vc-reviews.com it more than makes up for it with the Nintendo moments I have lived here and the previous sites (VC Imports and more systems, Wii SD card update, club.nintendo, new Pokémon generations, 3DS launch and ambassador, Nintendo Directs, Wii U reveal and launch, F-Zero AX included in GX... just to name a few) awesome community (writers and readers), features, contests, and all the Nintendo news a Nintendo fanboy like me could wish compiled under a single, trusty site. Happy anniversary NL, I hope its just the beginning of a very long life of my daily go-to site when it comes to games.
