Re: Talking Point: The Five Remaining GBA Ambassador Games

tripunktoj

I think we alraedy have many Mario titles on the list, but if they absolutely need to include another, they sould go for M&L:SS or SMA4:SMB3 with all eReader levels included.

EDIT: I'd rather have Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire and TLOZ:ALTTP as the rummored 3D classics forms. I have also my hopes up for original games, not remakes or enhancements like Metroid Zero Mission. I would also love 3rd party games, but I find it even more unlikely than Mother series.

Personal wishlist for the remaining GBA Ambassador titles:

Drill Dozer
F-Zero GP Legends
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Wario Land 4

Re: North American NES Ambassador Games Announced

@CiaranKimberlin: As far as I know, the online confirmation tool for 3DS Ambassadors is not yet released in Europe. Keep checking NoE website, or just follow the steps on this article, if the games appear on your 3DS, then you are an Ambassador for sure. Hope this helps.

Re: North American NES Ambassador Games Announced

@lz20XX: Would you agree if I say "indirectly paid" or "relatively free"? I think your statement is correct but incomplete, we didnt expect 32% price drop within 5 months. Plus apologizes, compensations &/or acknowledgements (like this games) are not given for free, usually you experience hardships (early huge price cut) as a reason for getting them (payment).

Re: North American NES Ambassador Games Announced

tripunktoj

@131: Technically this arent free games, its a lot of 20 games intended to be worth the extra 80 USD (most) early 3DS adopters paid only 5 months ago (even worse, the extra 2,500 MXN I paid on March 28 at a mexican legit retailer), which is why people like me complain.

Re: North American NES Ambassador Games Announced

tripunktoj

What I get from reading this posts some games are widely accepted (SMB, Zelda, Metroid) and other dividing opinions (Balloon Fight, Ice Climber), but I think we all agree the Golf one is garbage. I know they are free games, but dont forget we are getting this as an apology to loyal gamers for droping the price, so I think that gives us every right to complain.

Re: Check Your 3DS Ambassador Status Now, North America

tripunktoj

In! Glad I made it even after swapping regions back'n forth on July (entered full serial) @B4SDR4G: my serial letters are also CW. lately NoE has stopped being the last region to get things (Xenoblade, most VC games, Xenoblade, Oot3d, 3DS itself, Oh and Xenoblade)

Re: Talking Point: What If Nintendo Became a Third Party?

tripunktoj

I am a Nintendo collector, so if they became a third party while still developing and supporting their own hardware (like Atari or Hudson in 80s-90s) I would just continue to play new Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles. However if they became software only third party (like SEGA since 200X) I would give up on collecting their new products, I have loads of past Nintendo games to get and play for my entire lifespan, I can see Nintendo teaming up with another company in the future with success as a possibility, but for me they'd be dead I wouldnt ever buy Nintendo software for IOS/Sony/MS hardware.

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

@James: Great, it'd be unfair to let out any country. But I was thinking more on updating:
"How will I know if I'm a 3DS Ambassador? Will there be a notification". Glad to help

EDIT: NoA emailed back, confirming it works in Mexico, but didnt answer about rest of latin America

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

Today I got both, a Notification and a post on eShop news clearly stating "You are a Nintendo 3DS Ambassador" having Mexico, my real country in system settings. I set language to englsh and I also used the shop with US settings before, but I dont think that matters.

So for people like me not sure if the program will reach your region, I think geting this notification we were waiting for, by this days, is so far the best confirmation. Could be helpful for the FAQ @James

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

Not sure Mexico 'll get free games, I tested again my 3ds with different region settings (New York, USA) when launched Nintendo Video it says "Nintendo video service is not available in your location. You cannot download videos". It sure is available in NY and I think Nintendo video cant be used when the region registered in 3DS doesnt match that of your connection/router/server. This are great games, an exclusive one-time oportunity I dont wanna miss.

One could lose an Ambassador status changing back to Mexico, I also thought to hold out until the end of the year with the 3DS region set to USA (even if I have no Nintendo Video for that time and mess my SpotPass) to get all the free games. But I also thought the Ambassador program may not work if my real location is not selected on the system settings (in the way Nintendo Video does), and I could just change nothing and hope for the chance of the program & games being available in Mexico (both big risks IMO)... What to do not-sure-if-supported regions? What would you do if it were you @James, @everyone??

EDIT: I can DL Nintendo Video and works fine with my real location selected on the system settings and I am still waiting NOAs email reply to one of the 3 Ive sent them about this almost 2 weeks ago

Re: Capcom Talks Street Fighter X Tekken, SSFIV3D:AE on 3DS

tripunktoj

SSFIV3DE creates an Extra Data file on 3DS, like Pokédex 3D does, and I assume it could be used for DLC (bought via eShop), like Pokédex 3D does (free DLC is still DLC), Cant it @James?

If it were a catridge, Id probably trade in the previous one if it were cheap, but I rather have it as DLC.

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

@jayclayx: I have changed my 3DS region settings a couple times now in order to download Netflix and Green Lantern 3D Trailer, and I can confirm you dont lose any of your games (or your rights to redownload them), but I havent added funds to my 3DS (not sure if region swaping erases funds) and I miss or get double SpotPass notifications when changing.

I just like to have my real information on my 3DS settings it kind of give the console and games personalization (Mii Plaza) and allows national wifi matches from your actual country, but if we dont have any official confirmation on the program coming to Mexico by Aug. 9 I'll just play it safe and move my 3DS to USA permanently (you could lose an Ambassador status changing back to Mexico) I recommend all users from not supported countries to do this, just be sure to input a tax free state.

Lets just say if it were required &/or you really wanted, you could even link it to club.nintendo.com, my only concerns now are we could be banned from the program by changing regions, or that it just wasnt available on our local server (if we have one), but ignore me I am such a worrywart

EDIT: IMPORTANT UPDATE on this situation in post 198.

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

@James: "all eShop downloads are stored on your console's internal memory" I have all my eShop downloads stored on my SD card (except for DSiWare), however I dont own any VC games to confirm if they can only be stored on the system memory, if thats what you meant.

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

tripunktoj

@james: On my end, I am still waiting the email reply about this from NOA. The mexican official magazine (the closest thing we have to a local Nintendo office) posted a translation of the press release, but its just a translation no new details, not necessarily meaning the program will be effective in Mexico. I contacted them about this and as usual they know nothing, their information is often late and incomplete, Nintendo should be more serious and strict when choosing their official international representatives IMO... you are my only hope before swappin regions, Thanks in advance!

Re: FAQ: Nintendo Ambassador Program and Free eShop Games

@armoredghor: I hope they dont add registering for club.nintendo as a requirement, or they dont simply skip Mexico (we missed green lantern and Netflix) since "More details about this program will be announced in the future". I hadnt noticed, you are right, they do not specify if the 10 GBA games will be part of the 20 free downloads (they never label GBA games as free), if they mean an ambassador earns the "privilege" to buy them, I pass. Let us know if Nintendo replies.

Re: NES and Game Boy Advance Games Coming to 3DS Virtual Console

tripunktoj

I think this makes up for the price drop for us early buyers. They may be old games and some have more ports that I can count but all of them are free, and some exclusive downloads. I just hope Mexico is included in this ambassador program, after all we deserve it more than USA and Canada (we paid the equivalent to 600 USD at launch day in legit retailers), Do you know if Latin America are included @James? (We missed Club nintendo, movie trailers, Netflix)

Re: Four Swords Freebie is the Game Boy Advance Version

tripunktoj

@2: Only DSiWare available in the eShop can be transfered to 3DS, but I dont see any reason for this not showing up on the eShop (except boosting declining DSi sales)

With no extras, it'd better be a short file to download, given the limited 3DS memory for DSiWare.

Re: E3 2011: Reader Questions

Which pokémon will you get for scanning the AR marker in the e3 goodies?
(I am waiting to get all of them before I scan any marker, to get all stickers)

Re: Here's Japan's 3DS eShop Launch Day Line-Up

tripunktoj

Maybe SGG and TG16 rleases will follow later on the same week (like TG16 on Wii)

EDIT: I might be right since the wire states NA eShop will update every Thursday, I also hope they realize most people out of Japan isnt willing to pay such high prices and they localize prices for each market, I would be paying even higher prices but I am a collector with OCD and no debts, the other 99.9% of people not agreeing said prices means the VC will go bankrupt in weeks.

Re: Rumour: Could This Be the Next Nintendo Console?

tripunktoj

This looks fake to me, impractical, expensive, just not original! Looks like other fan made pic out of a router, 360/Classic control with random screenshots slapped using MS paint. I could be wrong, my perception (and most people's) cant stop this to be a possibilty for the future.

Re: Rumour: Retro Studios Working on Game for Wii Successor

tripunktoj

"Expect games to be coming to this system that you would never expect on a Nintendo console" + "A first person shooter that people love will be ported to the 3DS. I can’t say what game, but it’s popular among FPS games." = Halo (Still I'd rather have my Banjo-ThreeieDS)

Re: Get a Gold Blanka Figurine Via SpotPass Now

@TheColorsOfSonic: I am pretty sure we have got a little past 21 codes on the forum topic, it may be worth for you and everyone to take a little moment to check it out and watch it, since I am sure that there are many more codes out there and the topic is intended to be updated with those often (I think those figures really give you an edge over other players on battle)
