Re: Nintendo Download: 30th January (North America)

tripunktoj

I couldn't vote for the only thing Ill download this week Zelda Four Swords IS BACK. I got it the 1st time around, but now Ill be able to get it in my 2DS and 3DS (I transferred my account to XL, and my 3DS was missing four swords... until now)

Re: Feature: 10 Nintendo DS Games We Want To See On The Wii U Virtual Console

tripunktoj

Those are great games (except for GTA), specially Pokémon, Spirit Tracks and Mario Kart but there are too much RPGs in the list and many games I also liked from DS missed this list, Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2, Princess Peach, Star Fox, Kirby Canvas Curse, Picross 3D, Professor Layton, Contra 4, Henry Hatsworth, Sonic Colors just to name a few of them

Re: Nintendo Confirms Dedicated Development Team for Smart Device Services

tripunktoj

Its been a long tiem since they confirmed Miiverse and eShop on smart devices at some point in the future, but as I undetrstand it now they will maybe move things like Pokédex 3D, Nintendo Video, Pokémon Global Link, Nintendo TVii and maybe even a revived Swapnote to smart devices, while coming up with some new apps that could add to the game experience (like an app with access to exclusive Mystery gifts for Pokémon X & Y or special gold Miis for StreetPass Plaza)

I anticipated something like this account system when Iwata talked about a change in the business structure, I hope we also get some kind of reward or compensation for people who bought games twice or more (same Wii, WiiU and 3DS VC game)

Re: Satoru Iwata Confirms That DS Games Are Coming To The Wii U Virtual Console

tripunktoj

After seeing the video in the page linked the quick-start feature seems pointless to me and not that quick, it only skips the very brief moment it takes to completely load Wara-Wara plaza and your games and apps in the Home menu.

As for DS in virtual console, Id rather play those games on their actual console, but I know there were some people looking forward to it and Im glad for them. By the way, I assume you can also play with both screens, right?

Re: Feature: Nintendo Games Our Readers Would Love to See in 2014

tripunktoj

As I said the last time, Im not a fan of downloading (instead of buying at retail) new entries in classic Nintendo series, and Id rather wait a year or so to get it free as a club.nintendo reward if I were interested in one.

For me, the best of the list is Earthbound. I don't really like the Wars series, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of getting a new game if it were a REALLY well done game, which happened to me with Fire Emblem for 3DS.

I have never played Saturn and Dreamcast games (except Sonic games) so Id be really interested in those systems for VC... N64, GBA and NGC? No thanks, I have the real consoles to play those games as it was intended.

Oh, I almost forgot, but I hope Pokken Fighters is the codename for a proper Pokémon Stadium 3, compatible with X & Y and ideally with every other DS game.

Re: Talking Point: An Unplanned Flash Sale Looked Like Retail Download Genius from Nintendo

tripunktoj

From my personal view as customer I don't care, I always prefer a physical option when there is one, the only exception would be the ones I got completely free (Wii Fit U-eShop promo, Art Academy Lessons for Everyone-club.nintendo) or if there is an exclusive Im interested in for getting it via download (Donkey Kong Original Edition for getting digital Crosswords Plus).

From a business perspective, I guess its OK in the right amount at the right times.

Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for January

tripunktoj

I don't like redownloading or moving back and forth to system memory DSiWare games, so I already chose and bought the best ones that can fit at a time, no more DSiWare for me. The only Wii VC game Im I waiting as a reward is Sin and Punishment (there are more, but they aren't on VC yet and I doubt will ever be). Id only get Wii U VC F-Zero to play it on the gamepad, but I already got it for 30 cents, which is better than 200 coins (four $60 retail games registered)

Long story short, nothing for me this month, looking forward to the next month

Re: Kirby: Triple Deluxe Sound CD Now Available at Club Nintendo in Japan

tripunktoj

Itd be better if we got a Special Edition with the CD included at retailer or at least as part of a 3DS console bundle, otherwise we people living in regions without club.nintendo will miss yet another soundtrack, cough Majora's Mask cough. There is always eBay, but we are not getting it free and risk to getting it lost in the mail.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014

tripunktoj

I am unsure, maybe even reluctant, to see download-only entries on old classic Nintendo series, that's the main reason I voted "maybe" on great ideas like F-Zero UX, Super Mario Galaxy HD Collection, Rosalina's Observatory, StarFox: Battle for Corneria and Paper Mario: Origami (and the reason why it was easy for me to pick Metroid Prime IV as the best, if they were all full retail releases Id have trouble picking between F-Zero UX and StarFox: Battle for Corneria). Even if they were relatively new Nintendo series like SNES Remix, Id prefer to wait a little over a year and get it for free as a club.nintendo reward, or if Im lucky get a retail release of the game (Im looking at you Wii Sports Club). The only big and definitive No, was Animal Crossing: City Life, I just don't like feeling obliged to play daily or at determined times, and the practical impossibility to complete 100% a game.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th December (North America)

tripunktoj

@rjejr @TreesenHauser @Samurairu Same here, tried launching Wii Sports Club both days around 1PM EST and it wouldn't let me play, I also went to eShop to see if the passes were free for those days without luck. It was disappointing for me too, but considering last week's outage and this was only announced in an obscure business wire, I cant say this was unexpected for me. IMO it would be worst if they ran the promo and it was affected by the couple hours outage earlier today.

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life Readers' Awards 2013

tripunktoj

I don't think NSLU should qualify as an eShop only game, unlike Ducktales, we all knew NSLU would be released in both formats (retail and eShop). Wind Waker was also released first on eShop in some regions and it didn't qualify for eShop section. Even ignoring what I said, its high quality add-on content, but not a full new game.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th December (North America)

tripunktoj

@DarkwingLz I haven't seen anything regarding a delay in the Wii Sports Club promotion, maybe you mean the delay of Pokémon Bank.

@Jllanos22 As I understand it from the business wire wording, with this promotion they will let you use the available sports 48 hours for free (All 24 hours of both Dec 31 and Jan 1), but they wont give all the sports for free to use whenever you want.

Re: Feature: Time to Vote For Your Game of the Year 2013

tripunktoj

This is how I voted
WiiU 1st party= Super Mario 3D World
WiiU 3rd party= Rayman Legends
WiiU eshop only= BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
WiiU VC= Earthbound
3DS 1st party= Pokémon X and Y
3DS 3rd party= Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
3DS eshop only= SteamWorld Dig
3DS VC= Summer Carnival '92 RECCA
WiiU GOTY= Super Mario 3D World
3DS GOTY= Pokémon X and Y
NL GOTY= Pokémon X and Y

And if I could
Wii= Pandora's Tower
Wii Shop Channel= Retro City Rampage
DS= ... I don't have any idea... Turbo: Super Stunt Squad?
DSiWare= Orion's Odyssey

Re: Guide: Using Miiverse And The Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@letsplay With all of this Im seeing here, Im glad I am waiting a little to update, maybe they linked their ID during the periods when the eShops were down.

@Super_Gravy Now that you say it, I think demos have never appeared under the titles downloaded tab, only in the account activity tab (even before the update)

Re: Guide: Using Miiverse And The Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@PenCapChew Its good to know, and at the same time really worrying if your system is stolen or completely damaged (if not damaged or stolen you can transfer the NNID in a system transfer, which has no use limit anymore)

@Super_Gravy Yes, you were great help! Its enough to know they can be played if they're on the SD, I don't blame you for not trying to see if you can redownload. I downloaded all the content Ive bought prior to the maintenance anticipating this.
Im still wondering about the usability of content bought on other regions though
EDIT: Seeing your NL profile in Canada, maybe your N/A titles are some USA only content, like a couple demos or DL videos that were only available there or Hulu. Or videos unavailable anymore.

@ThomasBW84 Here's another doubt, I know you cant download new free content if you don't link a NNID, but Can you redownload free content you downloaded before the update day without linking an NNID?

Re: Guide: Using Miiverse And The Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@Super_Gravy I was thinking there could be problems retaining those games, after I read in this guide that you don't retain the license to a game you got that is not available in the region of the ID you link, and technically those games aren't available in any region. Have you already linked a NNID?

Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Are Updated for December

tripunktoj

I was looking forward to Lost levels as a CN reward, Im glad its finally here, the only elegible (1st party) Wii games I want as rewards now are Sin & Punishment, Rock 'n Roll Climber, Magnetica Twist and maybe Aqua Space. Ive lost hope for other first party imports I wanted to see in the American Wii Shop Channel, like Devils World and Mario's Super Picross. As for 3DS, there are a ton of NES and download-only first party games Im looking forward, WiiU? not really.

Re: Guide: Using Miiverse And The Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@ThomasBW84 So, if before the update I downloaded a game not available in the region of the ID I will link, Does the update or NNID linking process deletes said game from the SD or erases its icon from my menu? or the game and icon stay there usable and just wont let me redownload if I erase it? or the game and icon stay there and wont let you launch it? (like a demo without uses remaining)

EDIT: Any problem with GBA Ambassador or other exclusive/limited time offer games? (DK Original Edition) I mean, they technically aren't available in any region.

@adamical Sure!

@PenCapChew So, Cant you just format a 3DS with a NNID and redownload the content (downloaded prior to the update)without a NNID or a different one from the eShop as we could before? (Provided you didn't erase the eShop account and/or NNID)

@eza It just wont let you link with an existing ID until you set the console's region to match the region of the NNID you want to link.

@Einherjar Ive just searched everywhere and it doesn't look like you can change your NNID country in the WiiU. You can only change the state/province and time zone, which apart from moving within your country or for taxes reasons its useless, since you still cant access content unavailable on your set region. Maybe you are talking about the Wii U console's country setting, which can be changed but doesn't affect NNIDs, or maybe its different in America. The only way that you could maybe change NNID regions is contacting Nintendo directly and say you moved to other country.

Re: Review: Funfair Party Games (3DS eShop)

tripunktoj

@Joindots Hi! I really like carnival minigames, at $5 I would've been a day one download for me and would eventually buy it at $10, but not more that's it. If I were you Id left out the motion controls, which aren't very suited to 3DS's 3d effect and console shape, and put out a $7 product that people would actually buy.

Re: Guide: Using Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@eza Thanks for the info, Im glad to see some people are as interested in this topic as me. I've read all of your posts on that article, and Im sad it appears Nintendo is country-locking us. Im in Mexico (which is the region of my NNID) the eShop here rarely misses games and they are usually a little cheaper (because of currency exchange rates), but Im still not happy missing the chance to buy (or maybe redownload) a few games. And most important, in the online games I don't like to be ranked, displayed or earning points for a country which Ive no bonds with.

Re: Guide: Using Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@PenCapChew Bill Trinen said something about being able to get paid downloads without logging in, so maybe it'd still be possible to change regions and download content from other country's eShop. I hope Damo and NL know more about this.

Re: Guide: Using Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

tripunktoj

@Damo: Great idea for a guide, Ive 3 questions for updating this guide.

1. Can I register the same ID to multiple systems?
(Like 2DS, 3DS and 3DSXL at the same time and/or one ID in 2 WiiUs at a time)
2. Can we register an ID set to a different country than the console?
(so that I can still access content unavailable on the country of the ID)
3. Are (will) we able to change the region of the ID itself?

Re: Review: Wii Sports Club: Tennis (Wii U eShop)

tripunktoj

When playing with people on slow connections it lags horribly and its impossible to play tennis (I think it will be the same for baseball and boxing), its really frustrating to see your rank and stats sink with out your fault. Its not worth a digital download of $10 (for only part of the game), maybe if they release a retail disc Ill consider this again. Also, Motion Plus broke the game, had to reset the position (D-pad down) every couple minutes and recalibrate every 5 (tried 5 different remotes on 2 WiiUs)

Re: Pokémon Art Director Would Like to Simplify the Next Generation of the Franchise

tripunktoj

I agree, since Diamond and Pearl, I feel they have been adding more things that a person with more things to do in his life can focus on (even if those things are only more games) natures, abilities, moves, items, evolutions/forms and tons of extras (limited time downloads, pokewalker, dreamworld, dream radar, super-training, etc) The best generation ever is G&S the amount of content was just right, R&S lost the chance without backward compatibility, night/day, weekly cycles and Stadium.

Re: Review: Wii Fit U (Wii U)

tripunktoj

I really liked being able to see other people in my gym on screen, their stats, costumes, what they do, etc. Granted, it could be better, but its not that limited.

Re: Packaged Physical Release of Wii Sports Club May Happen

tripunktoj

Please do it! I am glad to see them talk about the possibility of a physical version BEFORE they release the digital version (unlike Ducktales Remastered and eShop Cave Story), instead of doing it once I have bought the digital version thinking there will be no retail option. I will only use the free 24 hour trail of each Sport on the digital version while I wait to hear more about (or buy) a retail one. When given the option I always go for the physical version, unless theres an extra Im really interested in or give for free the digital one and its not a big franchise. My only retail downloads so far are Crossword Plus (for the Donkey Kong Original Edition promo), Art Academy 3DS (Got it free registering XL and Luigi's Mansion on Club Nintendo), and Im thinking if I will stick to the digital Wii Fit U or not (Free, since I am getting a black standalone meter, regardless of getting the retail pack or not)
