Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Direct Airing Later Today

theinstruct0r

Were they true? Not to the extent you're saying. (No offence.) There were teases of something happening and we did get a indie presentation, but the likes of Nindie Showcases and Nintendo Directs are streamed presentations. What we got was not.

It was odd you even referred to it as a Nintendo Direct, since we already got release dates for The World Ends with You: Final Remix and Dark Souls Remastered. A New Labo kit was revealed. Diablo III and DOOM Eternal was both confirmed for Switch and there was a Smash Direct.

The video didn't follow the usual formula ever. You were right something would happen today, but saying you're right about there being a direct is stretching the truth.

Re: Site News: We Want Your Help To Become Even Better

As a frequent reader of Nintendo Life of the last five years, I'd like to see more Nintendo coverage. I can understand how popular Fortnite it but all the Fortnite coverage and guides makes you come across as being a Fortnite site first and foremost. Your reviews are great but sometimes your scores contradict what is written. Like with the Crash review. Therw was praise throughout only to then have the conclusion pretty much say it's not Mario and slap a 7 on it.

I like Alex's video reviews but only when they are reviews of games he's written because otherwise they sound false and some game details can be muddled up like in the review for the Bayonetta games for Switch.

What I really like about you guys though is your relationship with Nintendo, would love to see more interviews and feature articles on Nintendo releases, cancelled projects and the like. Would also like you to do community projects as well where you and your huge community and work together for a common goal. Be it a campaign to see a game ported to Switch and the like. You are a great Nintendo site but in recent months, it's not felt like Nintendo has been the main focus. I would like to see you return to your roots and come back as the leading Nintendo media site we know you to be.

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler (Switch)

Despite being a genre I absolutley adore and a game made by the developers of the Bravely games, I just can't get into Octopath Traveler at all. Everything about it are things I tend to love but the demos did not endear the game to me in any way and so far, none of the reviews I have read for it, have convinced me to give it a try. It's a shame really as I did really want to like it.

Re: Review: Woodle Tree Adventures (Switch eShop)

To anyone who reads this review, I hope it doesn't discourage you too much, as it's sequel Woodle Tree 2: Worlds is coming to Switch as well and it's a much larger game. You can also push blocks, do puzzles and more. Trailer and gameplay footage can be found on YouTube.

Re: Review: Aqua Moto Racing Utopia (Switch)

The term Jet-ski is actually wrong. What you should be saying is a PWC or Personal Watercraft, or even just watercraft like the game does. Jet-ski is like a Jacuzzi, except instead of being a hot tub, a Jet-Ski is a PWC made by Kawasaki, much like how Wave Runners are Yamaha's version. As for the aggressive water physics, have you ever driven a stand-up? They are a work out in themselves and trying to do even the simplest of stunts can be a hassle on flat water, let alone rough water. Plus the sea can be unpredictable, so there's nothing wrong with the water in this game as it is behaving exactly like is should. That is all.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2 (Switch)

theinstruct0r

I like you guys, I like your reviews, but I feel as if you're over doing it with the 10's for Nintendo Switch. Breath of the Wild fine, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 are 9's at best.

Re: Developer Survey Reveals Worrying Lack Of Interest In Nintendo Switch

theinstruct0r

There's actually a few reasons for this. The first being Nintendo are being critical over which games see Switch release. They are going for quality over quantity and new rather then ports of games that came out in the last two years.

Granted some exceptions have been made but there is a reason why some devs, including Thomas Happ Games still can't get a dev kit and this is it. In Japan it's almost a case of anything goes as long as it sold well, but Europe and North America is a case by case basis also, there was a recent crisis where Nintendo nearly ran out of dev kits and needed to make more, which they have this month and are now able to send out.

So it's not there's no interest, its a case of Nintendo saying no quite a lot.
