Re: Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria Adventuring to 3DS and Wii U This Year

I understand where you are coming from and actually agree to an extent, although I welcome the Metroid and Castlevania inspired titles because every once in a while we get a gem...but this game isn't that. It isn't just some huge studio masquerading a big budget title as "indie" it is indie and is definitely worth a look if you enjoyed rpgs from the 8 and 16 bit era.

I have been wondering what will happen when Donkey Kong finally gets released. I think traffic on this site may fall immensely. Then again we do have Amiibos to complain about so we should be okay.

Edit:
This week also makes me sad. Remembering how Rare used to be awesome. What the heck happened?

@EmmatheBest

I don't see anything wrong with that, but not really what I was getting at. I actually was curious what you thought about that since you mentioned it.

My thoughts are if I get around 10 hours or so for 5 dollars I'm definitely satisfied. I've played even less time on some budget titles and still was glad I made the purchase.

@Chaozrush21

Well basically any dungeon crawler I can think of is repetitive. That should go without saying but From the Abyss just didn't have a whole lot to it. But don't get me wrong I actually did enjoy playing it for a bit as well.

I was planning on checking this out anyway but nice review Dylan. Sounds like it was pretty much what I expected. I have too many dungeon crawlers and rogue like types in my Steam backlog but wouldn't mind one for on the go.

I don't really think a person's state of mind has anything to do with downloading a game. More for less? You have the game, you play it. The end. If someone is even interested in trying to sell something they wouldn't be downloading. Some people like to not have to deal with cartridges, and really couldn't care less about having a physical copy.

@IxC

I am certainly not going to try and speak for anyone but myself but my hard drive filled pretty quick and I don't really have that much digital content. I haven't downloaded any really large retail titles at all. I haven't checked but the largest files I have are probably Trine 2 and The Cave and then just a paltry assortment of "indie" and Virtual Console titles. To be honest I don't know where all my space has gone because my home screen just seems a little barren.

Re: Weirdness: These Push Guards for the New Nintendo 3DS Will Stop Game Cards From Popping Out

@Nico07

May be irrelevant to you, but I will share with you and whoever else may agree that I feel this could be absolutely relevant to me.

The first thought I had when I saw where the slot was located was oh jeez because of my hand placement on my XL that is the exact location I use my pinky finger to support the weight.

I started doing this back with the original brick DS and sure I could try to adopt a new way to hold my device but after so long it is a habit I don't want to have to worry about trying to kick.

Re: Speedrunner Sets New World Record for Fastest Time in Super Mario World

sweetiepiejonus

@Keymastar Actually it seems everyone but you and Trippinator are the only ones who didn't just voice their opinions in a civil manner.

I don't think it's considered 'beating' the game but I also think that like he said it should just be in a different category. Same with sequence-breaking.

They shouldn't have one's glitched time record trump someone who takes the dev's designed route to complete the game . I also think that console records should be considered the true records.

It's still very cool and it blows my mind how they come up with this junk, though.

You are correct. Their logo is a cycloptic crab.

This game caught my eye the other night. I do plan on getting this soon...that is if I can wean myself off my Rune Factory 4 and Persona Q cycle I'm currently stuck in.

Gauchorino lots of words have many different meanings. And people like to make jokes. Just so you know scat is not an Internet buzzword. There are people who actually study scatology. Don't know why someone would but pretty sure the Internet didn't invent science.

Anyway...good review, Dave. I'd probably enjoy this. I too love seeing Natsume support.

Re: Rumour: Villager, Marth & Wii Fit Trainer amiibo Discontinued

sweetiepiejonus

I will believe it when it's not just a rumor. That being said some people have made some good points. I wouldn't be surprised If some do get discontinued. I visited multiple stores on a recent shopping trip. No Marth to be found. One Target had a decent amount of Trainers and I found, and bought the only Villager I found in stores such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and TRU. I even checked several Gamestop's. That also doesn't mean there will never be a second run or something like that.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd May (North America)

sweetiepiejonus

@FOURSIDE_BOY

Well everyone should get the Kirby Collection anyway but Dream Course isn't included. I don't have any complaints but some people complain about the emulation and how you have to save in Collection. Besides in my opinion it's a bonus to play the games on the GamePad in my opinion.

Re: Microsoft: If You're Backwards Compatible, You're Really Backwards

sweetiepiejonus

Dear Lord. I was a big fan of the 360 and might have planned on getting the new one...until I read this. 1. Backwards compatibility is very important to me 2.) I am now being insulted by some geek because I like to continue to get enjoyment out of my old games without having the hassle of unhooking 1 device to connect my old device to play again

So Nintendo is the only company that provided this feature for their fanbase. So the people (trolls, professionals included) who insult Nintendo's practices and how they treat their fans definitely have a point according to this dingdong. Good job Microsoft you just lost a potential buyer.

edit:
Forgot to add that I actually did use the backwards compatibility on my 360 as well. All this time I didn't realize I was doing it wrong.
