I understand where you are coming from and actually agree to an extent, although I welcome the Metroid and Castlevania inspired titles because every once in a while we get a gem...but this game isn't that. It isn't just some huge studio masquerading a big budget title as "indie" it is indie and is definitely worth a look if you enjoyed rpgs from the 8 and 16 bit era.
Agree 10090% but...ya know what would make me jump up and down clapping my hands like a school child? Jet Force Gemini. Anything Jet Force Gemini for reallllz!
I have been wondering what will happen when Donkey Kong finally gets released. I think traffic on this site may fall immensely. Then again we do have Amiibos to complain about so we should be okay.
Edit:
This week also makes me sad. Remembering how Rare used to be awesome. What the heck happened?
I don't see anything wrong with that, but not really what I was getting at. I actually was curious what you thought about that since you mentioned it.
My thoughts are if I get around 10 hours or so for 5 dollars I'm definitely satisfied. I've played even less time on some budget titles and still was glad I made the purchase.
Well basically any dungeon crawler I can think of is repetitive. That should go without saying but From the Abyss just didn't have a whole lot to it. But don't get me wrong I actually did enjoy playing it for a bit as well.
I was planning on checking this out anyway but nice review Dylan. Sounds like it was pretty much what I expected. I have too many dungeon crawlers and rogue like types in my Steam backlog but wouldn't mind one for on the go.
I know Gamestop isn't the most popular place here but I preordered online and I admit I was a little nervous but they called me the day it came in and I couldn't go that day and they said they would hold it as long as I needed not the usual 48 hour window deal. So they've been reliable for me.
They will be and I have to disagree. I like to collect junk like these Amiibo and will be glad to make use of the features without having to open the ones I have.
I don't really think a person's state of mind has anything to do with downloading a game. More for less? You have the game, you play it. The end. If someone is even interested in trying to sell something they wouldn't be downloading. Some people like to not have to deal with cartridges, and really couldn't care less about having a physical copy.
True but not surprising. Focus is on the New 3DS but I agree other than Smash we need to get something that will entice more people to get one. Zelda and Star Fox will help once they eventually come out.
You're right but for me it's not really about that. I get that opinions differ...but Bayonetta not getting any recognition is ludicrous. There is differing opinions and then there is just ignorance.
I am certainly not going to try and speak for anyone but myself but my hard drive filled pretty quick and I don't really have that much digital content. I haven't downloaded any really large retail titles at all. I haven't checked but the largest files I have are probably Trine 2 and The Cave and then just a paltry assortment of "indie" and Virtual Console titles. To be honest I don't know where all my space has gone because my home screen just seems a little barren.
There is nothing worse than what you just described? Whaaaat? Seriously though instead of insulting only one group like you said I will just say both are annoying.
Well "literally" they do have the right to say it. Not saying they should but even in a serious debate (which this absolutely is not) you cannot deny them that right.
Not really. It isn't something that was created to convince people to buy because they are told this is an issue when it really isn't. While the target audience is apparently small it addressed the exact "problem" I was concerned with. It's just a product that some people may buy, and more than likely, a lot won't.
May be irrelevant to you, but I will share with you and whoever else may agree that I feel this could be absolutely relevant to me.
The first thought I had when I saw where the slot was located was oh jeez because of my hand placement on my XL that is the exact location I use my pinky finger to support the weight.
I started doing this back with the original brick DS and sure I could try to adopt a new way to hold my device but after so long it is a habit I don't want to have to worry about trying to kick.
@Keymastar Actually it seems everyone but you and Trippinator are the only ones who didn't just voice their opinions in a civil manner.
I don't think it's considered 'beating' the game but I also think that like he said it should just be in a different category. Same with sequence-breaking.
They shouldn't have one's glitched time record trump someone who takes the dev's designed route to complete the game . I also think that console records should be considered the true records.
It's still very cool and it blows my mind how they come up with this junk, though.
I am not too keen on what the conversions are but anything under $20 is an absolute steal. I paid full price day one and still feel like I got my money's worth.
I said some harsh words towards Jools before but I regret it now. I do respect their work. Even if I didn't enjoy some titles I still appreciate the effort. I do have plans to get Xeodrifter fo sho.
This game caught my eye the other night. I do plan on getting this soon...that is if I can wean myself off my Rune Factory 4 and Persona Q cycle I'm currently stuck in.
I got excited by the title. But only I am to blame for thinking this was going to be an achievement-like system being implemented. Not much interest in this idea though. I'm sure some will like it and I don't think it's a bad idea. Just not for me.
I got ya. Even so I just don't think it's that big a deal even if they intended the title to be toilet humor. Yes scat can mean 'shoo' and other things but it's funny when people play on words. Now I realize humor is subjective and you have your right to rant just as anyone else does.
Gauchorino lots of words have many different meanings. And people like to make jokes. Just so you know scat is not an Internet buzzword. There are people who actually study scatology. Don't know why someone would but pretty sure the Internet didn't invent science.
Anyway...good review, Dave. I'd probably enjoy this. I too love seeing Natsume support.
I will believe it when it's not just a rumor. That being said some people have made some good points. I wouldn't be surprised If some do get discontinued. I visited multiple stores on a recent shopping trip. No Marth to be found. One Target had a decent amount of Trainers and I found, and bought the only Villager I found in stores such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and TRU. I even checked several Gamestop's. That also doesn't mean there will never be a second run or something like that.
Well everyone should get the Kirby Collection anyway but Dream Course isn't included. I don't have any complaints but some people complain about the emulation and how you have to save in Collection. Besides in my opinion it's a bonus to play the games on the GamePad in my opinion.
"Our" games? You claim that you are a Nintendo fan but ya know I tried to ignore my suspicion that you were a fanboy in disguise after our last discussion but it's kind of apparent now.
Dear Lord. I was a big fan of the 360 and might have planned on getting the new one...until I read this. 1. Backwards compatibility is very important to me 2.) I am now being insulted by some geek because I like to continue to get enjoyment out of my old games without having the hassle of unhooking 1 device to connect my old device to play again
So Nintendo is the only company that provided this feature for their fanbase. So the people (trolls, professionals included) who insult Nintendo's practices and how they treat their fans definitely have a point according to this dingdong. Good job Microsoft you just lost a potential buyer.
edit:
Forgot to add that I actually did use the backwards compatibility on my 360 as well. All this time I didn't realize I was doing it wrong.

Re: Copyright Owner of 'Trollface' Image Explains Role in Getting Meme Run Taken Down
@Quorthon
I don't think the big deal is the quality of the game. It just seems like it is because most devs are not dumb enough to pull this kind junk.
Also the guy who filed the complaint was a stand up dude about the whole thing and has nothing to apologize for.
Re: Viewtiful Joe Figure is Ready for His Close-up
Dude I am all over this. Loves me some Viewtiful Joe.
Oh and I second a new game for Wii U. Shoot I'd even settle for a remaster. Please make this happen Capcom.

So glad I preordered Shulk. Can't wait for this. Although the New 3DS, Amiibos (Amiibi?), and all these games are just burning a hole in my pocket.

Unless we know the details of the contract Gamestop paid for exclusivity then that is a moot point.
