These reports of people spouting crap like this and then trying to backpedal and make good is getting really annoying. Though it's not really hard anymore to tell who the snobs are even without blatant garbage like this.
This looks interesting. I'd probably check it out but I want to know is...AeternoBlade? If it was a copyright issue and he didn't want to deal with it I get that but it isn't. ChronoBlade just sounds better.
XSEED is hands down my favorite publisher. Not only do they bring many games to the states that other companies won't, the majority of the time the localizations are top notch. I have been getting games I probably normally wouldn't just to try and show my support.
But how do you explain other indie developers gushing about the Wii U eShop? It is a minor inconvenience, that's for sure. But the operative word is "inconvenience."
I definitely agree that we need to support indie developers but as some have said it should have been on 3DS. Guarantee the dude's pockets would erupt with much moneys, but it was just bad luck for it to be delayed so long and be in between the bridge from one gen to the next.
Would have been like a studio producing a new release on VHS as it was going the way of the buffalo, then comparing the numbers to DVD rental figures.
@3DSLUIGI It wasn't something I wanted to get into in the first place. You aren't grasping the original comment I made and got all defensive for nothing.
Maybe I am illiterate but your last comment is even more muddled than the first. Plus you don't need to say you "always try" that's evident as you were not clear which is why I was able to play off your words to begin with.
Tell you what. I'll go learn to read if you go take your recommended dose of Diazepam, and forget this nonsense.
@3DSLUIGI Whoa hostility out of nowhere. I was playing off what you originally said not something I misread. You said "As for the first Luigi's Mansion game, I can't really say it was a bad game." Your exact words. The "I can't really..." part of your quote implies that you aren't saying for certain. I was just helping you think clearly since you don't seem to be. But then again I may need to learn to read after all.
@Zellybeanie Yet this is what we constantly hear complaints about. This includes the so-called experts. The same deal with Vita has been going on for Vita.
@Tertis Because people always mention Mario's Time Machine when talking about Mario?
@3DSLUIGI You don't need to say Luigi's Mansion was a bad game because it wasn't. It was great and it's under-appreciated. Plus it was on the Gamecube and that was a time when it was like supercool to have a Xbox and laugh at how Nintendo was for "kiddies" or whatever the cool kids said.
Would definitely buy Spelunky. I didn't know anything about Monaco but after researcing it a little, I'd probably end up getting that too. I also have no interest in Fez anymore. I used to not care about Fish's stupid comments but he just keeps baiting people. If he would have left it alone I wouldn't have minded and probably bought Fez too.
@ToxieDogg Doesn't really surprise me. The Resident Evil haters bandwagon has been going strong for quite a while (I personally thought 6 was fun). Some people haven't even given Revelations a chance. That probably has to do with the anti-Nintendo hipsters as well, though.
@Bankai
It's not even about that. I'm saying you shouldn't waste your breath defending the clown. He's exactly the same as the rude fanboys you are getting upset about.
If he respectfully and tastefully made his arguments I'd be defending him myself. Just because he has one award winning title doesn't give him the right to disrespect others.
He could make valid complaints about Nintendo all he wants without being a jerk but he seems to be incapable or too immature to do that.
You should find someone that isn't a jerk to latch onto and shout your love from the mountain tops.
@SkywardLink98 I agree to a point. Yeah I did buy Revelations already but as someone pointed out as well this really is a different game. But it's not too much that you'd be missing out if you don't get it.
Plus I usually take the 'no-plans' response as a dodge. Not always but you know, might just be someone using the CYA plan and not having to try to explain to your boss how accidentally you leaked information.
Normally on games like this I usually end up turning off voices when they repeat lines too often but I never got sick of any characters, not just Shulk. Amazing casting in a genre that usually requires the token overly annoying character.
@Bankai
I get what you are saying but we're just going in circles. He throws around insults not just at us lowly non-award winning losers but at companies who have titles older than he is. That's what I mean when he has no right.
He can insult my lack of one indie award winning game all he wants because that is a fact. Don't tell me that I don't want a dual-screen device. I'd be offended even if it was suggested by someone with intelligence.
One thing he could do is at least attempt a professionalism facade. Like Dana White did when he finally got facetime on an actual television station that didn't share it's programming block with 1000 Ways to Die.
@Hunter-D
That's actually an insult to Fish. I can't believe Pachter is actually paid by someone.
Edit: I apologize for the previous profanity. I was using it in a general context. Not directly calling him that.
@Bankai
As I said before, he has the right to sound like a donkey, so do the people who call him a donkey, and so do the people who defend him. That's not my point. So...what is yours? The people/companies he is constantly criticizing often have many more accolades than one indie title that has won some awards.
The put-up or shut-up argument doesn't work that well. When Cliff Bleszinski more or less tells Capcom that Resident Evil is garbage and he can "fix it" he has the right to say it. Phil Fish is not even close. He is still riding the coattails of Fez and can't tell anyone to shutup other than the people who attack him on Twitter. Which he actually does as well. My son's middle school friends are more mature than him.
@Chrono_Cross If the initial person is just as/more immature than I question your reasoning for defending him or her. Which is just as well your right as is one's opinion. Just curious of why you thought any of it is funny. I find fanboyism sad. Even moreso from a developer whose voice is heard by more than fansites.
I've tolerated him til now. Even enjoyed Fez but the sooner he and any other dip 's' like him is gone from the industry, the better.
So are you saying that people shouldn't be able to respond about his opinion? If that's not what you are saying then why is it funny?
I would advise against Schlongy-D's advice to read his twitter if you value your intelligence. I felt dumber the first time I read an interview with this kid. He has shown his ignorance long before this.
And something to prove his ignorance, not that it is difficult, I sure wouldn't mind a second screen while playing Ninja Gaiden. Having to hit Select every few seconds to make sure I'm on the right track isn't my favorite thing in the world. Also I cannot stand how awkward the analog sticks feel. I've had it for months now and still am not used to it.
It's apparent that he's not familiar with the series if he thinks Monster Hunter has ever had less than stellar controls. Yes there are fanboys who get upset by his comments but that is exactly what he is. He's got a great title that he is going to milk as example of how great he is. He's going to run out of ammo soon. Like the supporters of whatever president that continue to use the previous president as a scapegoat even long after he is out of office.
@GN0LAUM I've pretty much done the exact same thing. I don't know what the deal is but I just don't remember anytime in my younger years when I couldn't trust the people I relied on getting honest information.

@DaemonSword Not that Konami didn't have a say in what the final product would be, I'd say it's more Mercury Steam/Kojima changing stuff than anything else.
And I feel that a true Castlevania fan will enjoy the reboot unless they just despise Rygar clones. I know the minds of radical fanboys just aren't wired properly so they tend to just hate everything. So they really don't even need to be acknowledged.

@SCAR392 Technically they are letting us use them for free not giving them away. Mine came with console but I don't see myself getting enough value for the price to buy next year. Especially since the majority of titles I get excited about are usually the ones NA publishers are too afraid to localize.
@Mr_M Yeah they put it into development hell for more than a decade and were responsible for that train wreck. All on Gearbox no doubt. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still Rosie O'Donnel.

@edcomis I get the frustration but come on, he's obviously trying to connect to us by using our language. In many other countries they view it as a show of respect.
I've learned that if you open a Coors on a sweltering hot day, it actually can conjure a train that leaves an ice trail. Then everyone in the street will join you in an impromptu celebration.
Oh and also geckos can speak english. And they do so in an awful cockney accent.
I actually rely on television commercials to educate my son.
This is so stupid. What a waste of time and money. And anyone who is arguing for this must be in law because all it takes to be 'accurate' is a line of microscopic blurry white text, or an auctioneer style reading of the legal mumbo jumbo.
I'm sure people always pause television commercials and get their magnifying glass out to read disclaimers.
Greedy bastard? More like billionaire genius. And now that Disney is getting in on the action I really think this could surpass Skylanders. The reason may not even have to be due to a superior game, but the collectibles alone.
Activision is making a ton for sure but Disney collectors have been doing it for like 60+ years. I'll bet people who won't even buy the game will still buy every single item in the line.
Ha you did that too? I felt bad because Arc Rise is a pretty good game, but Xenoblade's allure was too strong to resist. I'll put it back in, eventually though.
As for me I'm still getting my butt kicked in Titan Tortuga in Unchained Blades, which is sure to take up most of my time this weekend.
I wish I had money to burn for this. I don't think I'd actually open it, though. For one, obviously because it's a collectors item. I also am in love with my XL. My son's standard 3DS seems so tiny now. Wish I could get it though because it's very cool.
That's something that I'm not clear on. I bought Code of Princess at Gamestop. It was the usual $39.99 plus tax.
But when I bought a $35 prepaid card at Walmart, which they can't tax, Unchained Blades was still a straight $29.99. Not that I'm complaining, it's just weird.
@GreenDream
I wonder if Solange's noticeable...features have anything to do with that. We wouldn't want to be corrupting our children ya know?
Right I get what you are assuming but that's all it is, not confirmation. We don't know what either party has said. Is it out of the question that Activision said 'hey you want to make this game now?', and Renegade Kid says 'we don't have the resources' and didn't want to lose their artistic control as independents and be swallowed by another company.
If you can assume than so can I. Unless you can say something that doesn't have words like 'basically' or other vague descriptive words, which I haven't seen.
Who knows? Maybe if enough people want to see it then it could happen. Saying eh whatever it's cancelled doesn't come across being all that interested.
I will probably get this. The only thing is, I haven't noticed ever having "terrible" battery life. What are people defining terrible as?
I've played Darksiders on the GamePad alone for over two hours straight. I guess I can try (and fail) to convince myself to not feel like such a loser after playing for several hours.
How can you not see exactly that? Unless you drive an electric car.
Internet is something everyone has. Walmart on the way home isn't.
Do you demand that the pizza guy gives you a discount to deliver the same thing you can go get yourself when it's really no inconvenience to just stop on the way home.
Well I appreciate your response, but that doesn't exactly clear anything up.
It's not cancelled right? So it could happen. Mutant Mudds and the sequel, are obviously priority right now. I don't expect small studios to develop multiple franchises simultaneously.
I'm kind of confused, people are reacting like it's a canned project or something. Jools just said they haven't done anything since, not that it wasn't going to happen, right?
First thing that comes to mind is 'inside job.' But really all they need to do is wait for the idiots to get desperate. People this dumb usually catch themselves.
The dip s' that stole these have got to be up there on the dumbest criminals list. They aren't going to be able to offload these things.
As dumb as thieves are, even a fence has half a brain not to take them, so they are gonna be selling out of their car trunks before the inevitable bust.
True. That's the difference with Unchained Blades. You get some pretty decent skills (group target) without too much grinding if you plan ahead on the Skill Map.
I recently decided to start EO3 again, and with a decent party, fair amount of grinding, and best available equipment, Greedy Lizards are still kicking my buttocks.

Who knows? Maybe if enough people want to see it then it could happen. Saying eh whatever it's cancelled doesn't come across being all that interested.
Re: Talking Point: The Emergence of Download-Only Retail Games
@DarkKirby
Never thought about that. Man, I 'd be out so much money for the Tales, and Super Robot Taisen localizations alone.
Re: Nyko Power Pak Boosts Wii U GamePad Stamina By Three Times
I will probably get this. The only thing is, I haven't noticed ever having "terrible" battery life. What are people defining terrible as?
I've played Darksiders on the GamePad alone for over two hours straight. I guess I can try (and fail) to convince myself to not feel like such a loser after playing for several hours.
Re: Talking Point: The Emergence of Download-Only Retail Games
@Gamesake
How can you not see exactly that? Unless you drive an electric car.
Internet is something everyone has. Walmart on the way home isn't.
Do you demand that the pizza guy gives you a discount to deliver the same thing you can go get yourself when it's really no inconvenience to just stop on the way home.
Re: Talking Point: The Emergence of Download-Only Retail Games
@theblackdragon
Perfectly reasonable answer. And as I said, just being contrary. I am a bit of collector, so I'm not gung-ho digital only or anything.
I've just seen people who feel like they should be charged less for the convenience.
There are plenty of logical arguments I, myself, would make against digital only, that is just one I don't quite understand.
Re: Footage of Renegade Kid's Crash Bandicoot DS Demo Emerges
@WiiLovePeace
Well I appreciate your response, but that doesn't exactly clear anything up.
It's not cancelled right? So it could happen. Mutant Mudds and the sequel, are obviously priority right now. I don't expect small studios to develop multiple franchises simultaneously.
Re: Talking Point: The Emergence of Download-Only Retail Games
@Gamesake
Just to play Devil's advocate. Have you seen the price of gasoline? Do you have to find a parking spot, stand in line, etc.?
Just curious why people always use this complaint against downloads. If you are trying to be thrifty, I hope you are walking to the store.
Re: This New Monster Hunter 4 Trailer Will Bring Out The Beast In You
I know the trendy thing now is to hate Capcom but the more Monster Hunter localized, the better.
@Koto
Wow. You really are bothered by that, aren't ya?
Re: Footage of Renegade Kid's Crash Bandicoot DS Demo Emerges
I'm kind of confused, people are reacting like it's a canned project or something. Jools just said they haven't done anything since, not that it wasn't going to happen, right?
Re: Police Recover Vehicles Used In Wii U Heist
@Sharingan029
First thing that comes to mind is 'inside job.' But really all they need to do is wait for the idiots to get desperate. People this dumb usually catch themselves.
Re: Review: Unchained Blades (3DS eShop)
@WhiteTrashGuy
I'm at like 19 hours and just started Chapter 2. I've bought games for $50 that have been shorter than if I were to quit now. $30 is hardly too much.
Re: Police Recover Vehicles Used In Wii U Heist
@Dyson
Can you back up any of those statements?
Re: Police Recover Vehicles Used In Wii U Heist
The dip s' that stole these have got to be up there on the dumbest criminals list. They aren't going to be able to offload these things.
As dumb as thieves are, even a fence has half a brain not to take them, so they are gonna be selling out of their car trunks before the inevitable bust.
Re: Review: Unchained Blades (3DS eShop)
@CanisWolfred
