Re: Virtual Console Games Will Eventually Be Playable On Wii U GamePad Alone

sweetiepiejonus

@brooks83

No that's not what I meant. I was talking about people who think emulation and backwards compatibility is "simple."

And people are already assuming that we have to buy them again. Until we're told they won't be providing a transfer tool or something you guys need to stop complaining.

I didn't have to re-purchase all my DSiware to get them on my 3DS. Did I just get lucky? Like the one millionth customer or something?

Re: GameStop Reports 320,000 Wii U Sales Since Launch

sweetiepiejonus

I'm not sure why Gamestop is hated so much, and it doesn't really matter but I have no big problems with Gamestop. The only thing that bothered me was when I was told how they destroyed all the cases for 3DS/DS games traded in. I get the clearing out the wall of PS2 and Gamecube games but that is unacceptable.

But I digress...once I heard they stopped taking preorders, though, I just went across the street to Walmart to guarantee it with layaway.

@slidecage

Are you kidding me? In EO III you get destroyed by Great Lynxes until you've leveled at least twice. And that's with a good party. Not that there isn't a lot of grinding to be had here but the skills you get in this are much more friendly in helping you wipe out the big crowds.
This is one I would recommend before trying the more difficult dungeon crawlers. And there is a story, as corny as it is, that moves along at a decent pace.

Re: Crysis 3 Not Coming To Wii U Due To A "Lack Of Business Drive"

sweetiepiejonus

@TotalHenshin

Well you're talking about 2 different things. In your reference to the past you are correct. Third party has been a sore spot.

But until the future happens then you are wrong as we can't say Wii U support is there or not. It's only a couple months old, and maybe it isn't 'powerful' enough. Who knows? The devs don't even know yet.

All it takes is one nerd to cry "horrible slow CPU" to set off a ****storm of ignorant followers to claim it's fact. I hope a day comes again when the 'experts' would find something other than negative Nintendo stories and made-up fanboy banter that is posted as news articles.

From an outside view though, I've seen Nintendo giving devs, including Indies on eShop, more flexibilitiy then ever. But I'm also an idiot so take that for what it's worth.

Re: Renegade Kid Clarifies 3DS Piracy Comments

sweetiepiejonus

@Bazly
No no. I have no hate for anyone. Anything I ever say here is nothing but discussion, and never personal. Certainly not towards someone I respect as a developer, and I realize it may not have seemed that way as the term 'crybaby' probably wasn't the best choice of words. I meant no ill will towards Jools or anyone else.

@RenegadeJools
I appreciate your reply. I know you're doing you're best and as I said Bazly, I respect you as a dev and think Mutant Mudds is great. And hope you know that there are lots of honest people who will buy products even when stealing the same thing would be so easy.

Re: Renegade Kid Clarifies 3DS Piracy Comments

sweetiepiejonus

@Bazly
What do you mean? I'm not angry, don't hate anyone, and never said that. Saying that one's comments make you sound like a crybaby doesn't equal hate at all.
I was explaining why I made my first comment. Basically saying stop making excuses, and then trying to 'clarify' them. Keep making fun games and the honest people will usually buy them. Despite all the "facts" about piracy, there actually are honest 3DS owners who buy games.

Re: Renegade Kid Clarifies 3DS Piracy Comments

sweetiepiejonus

@RenegadeJools
Yes, really.
Just make games. Developers who look for scapegoats just sound like babies. You think you are the only one affected? Yet I don't see others whining about it.
I didn't play Demenitium because I didn't know it existed, but I'm sure it was great as people say. Sometimes it happens. Deal with it. I hope you don't have to make your point by penalizing paying customers, or whatever your excuse was, because Mutant Mudds is great and I'd hate to miss out on it.

sweetiepiejonus

@Samholy
I may be wrong, but I think it's supposed to be that way. It's a very campy vibe and not to be taken seriously.

Unchained Blades is awesome. It's a bit of a stripped down more story driven Etrian Odyssey without having to draw the map yourself. That's not to say it's not deep itself. You get tons of followers, huge numbers of enemies and a simplified FFX Sphere Grid progression. Definitely worth it.

Re: Indie Hit FEZ Is Finally Shaking Off XBLA Exclusivity In 2013

sweetiepiejonus

@ThreadShadow
Yes but one acts like a true professional and the other is a foulmouthed donkey and insults people who would potentially line his pockets with money. Please don't ever compare him to Inafune again.

And yes I would still buy Fez because, unless we are talking about a Stefan Eriksson type, I play games for enjoyment, not to make statements.

Re: Renegade Kid Confirms Mutant Mudds 2

sweetiepiejonus

@MagicEmperor

Dingdongs like that aren't worth the time. Let them have something to make them feel 'cool' and I'll stick with my "lame" Nintendo device...except if I find another device that's worth buying, I'll buy it. I don't get the relationship status people develop with companies.

Re: Renegade Kid Confirms Mutant Mudds 2

sweetiepiejonus

@MrWalkieTalkie
That's why they say there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Yeah I think it was stupid he threatened us because of piracy. I personally think he was looking for someone to blame other than Lady Luck, and it made him sound like a baby. But I don't care as long as the games are good. Like Phil Fish is a clownshoe but I'm not going to deprive myself of Fez.

Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd January 2013 (North America)

sweetiepiejonus

@JaythekidRS

True, but what gets me is the amount of violence that is accepted, as long as there is no nudity or even sexual themes/innuendo. When I was a kid, of course my friends found their parents' dirty magazines and stuff, and maybe it was the small town I lived in, but we didn't have obsessions or even the slightest fascination with guns.

Yes there was plenty of violence in NES games, but I can't think of anything other than Bionic Commando that even had a hint of blood or gore in it.

Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd January 2013 (North America)

sweetiepiejonus

@Koto
Don't you know that if it wasn't for porn, the internet would be solely used for making uninformed assumptions.

We would also miss out on some of the comical comments that people make that are usually just regurgitated bs. Some things I hear my son's friends say are hilarious.

Plus, angry people who seem like someone crapped in their cereal wouldn't have much purpose in life.

As for me I got Unchained Blades. It's been a while since I've played a game where the B button has been the primary 'action' button.

Re: Renegade Kid Worried About 3DS Piracy

sweetiepiejonus

LittleIrves, you haven't considered there are people who didn't say "Yay it's amazing!" have you? Unless you have names to go with your alleged quotes you're talking about an imaginary group.

Sorry it's just annoying when people use quotes incorrectly especially when they aren't quoting anyone.

Re: Renegade Kid Worried About 3DS Piracy

sweetiepiejonus

I am not for hacking but this is stupid. Show me proof besides kids on the internet and I'll believe it. Make a good product and people will usually buy it. Sometimes it doesn't happen. Beyond Good & Evil, for example. That's life, not piracy. Anyone who is looking down from their soapbox, I'm sure they will admit they have never watched a video online. Listened to a song without paying for it. As much piracy is abundant, I'd be willing to bet hypocrisy is just as bad. And it seems from this thread you don't need any proof. Therefore I am right.

Re: Developer Interview: Frozenbyte on the First Days of the Wii U eShop

sweetiepiejonus

@Yodhaglorum

Yep this game looks ridiculously gorgeous. Even better on the GamePad screen. But then again, all you have to do if you can't make a quality game is scream "horrible, slow CPU" and all the mindless lemmings will take it as gospel.

I wasn't sure what this game was exactly. I only read about how great it was. Not disappointed one bit. It has been one of my best digital purchases on any console, only being able to download Symphony of the Night tops it.

Re: Kojima Productions: We Aren't Thinking About Metal Gear Rising On Wii U

sweetiepiejonus

This is proof that the industry has just as many hipsters and fanboys that post on the web.

Apparently Platinum can figure out this "complex" system and even make exclusive titles for Wii U but Kojima can't figure out how to map buttons to the GamePad, or give the option for the Pro Controller. There doesn't have to be a Wii U gimmick, just give everyone the option to play your game.
