I bought one and got the OG switch on day one. Absolutely love it, the white version is so cool, not only is the screen much better, it's also bigger as well - I'll be playing more handheld than before as its so good. You can also sell your old one privately for a decent price so the trade up isn't such a hit. Delighted with it x
@Duncanballs I use to love GameStation! And you're right the staff were great and just wanted to talk about games without selling them. Spent ages milling around in there with my kids back in the day. Real shame they were taken over, hope all's well with you now. Cheers
@Duncanballs I couldn't agree more, their (GAME) prices are so expensive, I popped my head in there the other day and just couldn't believe what they were charging for certain games, I mean at least £10 more than any other store. I asked them if they were willing to price match (to a shop literally next store) they said no way, so I popped next door and saved myself £10! Just don't get it. And like you I don't know how they are still in business. It's a shame as I want to support video games stores. I have always enjoyed browsing through them over the years, but they need to be competitive and offer a service.
update - just played another hour on this game, and it's got even better. The graphics are just gorgeous. The details in the room are incredible. And the music is so catchy. Just been to the town library when you can buy tips on things if you really get stuck. Give it a go, one of the nicest looking games on the system.
Hi there, i jumped in and bought this game on day one after watching it being played on SwitchUp. I had the most frustrating start, and nearly gave up - many times - but watched a walked through on the fist dungeon, the ship, and since I got through it, I am having the best time with it. Great music and graphics, and just fun running about. You get to know what type of puzzles they are throwing at you as well so it gets easier. So please, give it a chance, it's just amazing when you consider two guys made it, so talented. If you are vaguely interested, go for it. The map is huge as well, so there will be lots of explore and see. Some things are just worth sticking with for a while and this is one of them. Sparky
The first game was awesome and I still play it loads - if you like Defender or Dropzone (it is basically a great clone of Defender right down to map and scrolling) you'll love the original. Look it up.
I got a physical copy of this game 2 weeks ago and I'm having a blast with it, so much fun and the soundtrack is simple amazing, this games oozes atmosphere - highly recommend to anyone. One of my favorite switch titles to date.
@sanagelo89 Appreciate your grounded overview thanks. But do we really have to swear online like that to make a point? Can't we just stick to the community rules.
@nhSnork. you're right man, I just saw the pretty brutal stabbing sequence in the opening sequence, and with all that's going on with knife deaths on my local streets here in London, with dozens of kids losing their lives, it just struck a nerve. Didn't mean to come over as a prude.
is the draw distance really poor on this? Looks that way from the video clips I've seen, doesn't appear you can't see the track snaking off into the distance.
I have this on the Switch and it is simple amazing. Visually stunning, the audio is fantastic, and presentation is first class. Really takes you through the modes and training to teach you all you need to know for new comers like myself to the series. Can't recommend it highly enough. Also it is the strongest visuals yet seen on the Switch.
I have my switch hooked up through an LG short throw projector so now I always play on what is a small cinema screen, with a blue tooth sound system set up at the back of the room - it's such an awesome set up!
This is an awesome game. really really fun to play. Reminds me of Dropzone, Choplifter and Defender all mixed up, checking the map, zooming around to save people etc, one of my favourite titles. I project my switch onto a wall these days and this games is so much fun to play on it! only thing I would change, is you = depress the left control stick to bring up the options page, and this can be a little annoying as you steer with it and I often depress it by accident. Love to be able to change this setting. A must buy for me.
This is a great game, having so much fun playing it. The music is fantastic and a real throw back, the sound effects play a great role too. Visually I am just loving the look and feel of this game and it really is an old school shooter with some cool platforming sections included too. A must I'd say to have in your collection.
This is a great game, the sound effects and background music are really strong as well. Tough as hell but always fun to please, a real 'just one more try' experience. Just buy and enjoy.
Considering the hardware available at the time, the water and ripple. movement effects for the time on Wave Race were quite remarkable. Be interesting to see how this compares as this can make or break the experience. Often the characters and models in these games almost look to light weight and need to be a little heavier. WaveRace was a classic.
With the game having been out on other hardware for a while now is it likely that they will bring out an update patch to help improve performance? It is basically like the Disney Infinity game which I hand on the Wii U, but with more opportunity to build more detailed and complex structures. A lot of potential here and would be great to see if supported further by the developer.
I have to say that I have so much fun with this game playing multiplayer at home. Some of the music is amazing and I turn it up fully. Its an awesome game and one that I'll keep on coming back to for a quick hit of pure enjoyment. Buy it!
I can't get it to sync up with my Switch anymore (any tips!), when it was working though it was great. Gt for Mario Kart but not good enough for Zelda. I have a pro controller thankfully which is just marvellous.
I purchased this first day via Amazon (getting a 2 pounds discount being a Prime user) and it as been a blast. Great game, great visuals and loads of fun two players head to head. Really really pleased with it. Go get. x
the possibilities of using the vast word created here as a basis for forthcoming DLC expansions is really very exciting and I hope one that is really utilised for years to come.
I have been playing video games since 1982 (on my good old C=64) and I have to say that this is the most stunning title I have ever experienced in a video game. I spend most of the time just staring open eyed at the sunsets, the weather elements, the time and attention taken to this simply MASSIVE open world is mind boggling. I am having the best time ever just pottering around and exploring this world at my own pace. It is just so vast. And it's am experience I don't want to end. Incredible efforts to all involved.
Purchased this game last night, and wow I was surprised how great it looked and sounded on the Switch. Really sharp colourful visuals that really shine on the Switch's screen. Graphics look awesome too with three or four layers of parallax scrolling going on, with lovely shadow and particle details present. The music is a joy to play along too and the game has bags of personality. A really fun and enjoyable title to have on the system. A must buy for the system at this stage - well yes. x
I think it looks great but hard to control on the joy con's small buttons, they are quite fiddley- the shoulder buttons are so close together too. I think you have to remap the control to suit you. The WII U version was so much easier to control.
@DanteSolablood Thanks for that tip, will try that. Have used them in the grip and on their own and still experienced the drop out issue, didn't even think about covering the aerial but will look at that.
My left JoyCon keeps loosing the connection and it's only a few feet away from me with no direct line interference. Very annoying. Purchased the unit in Singapore and live in the UK so a little stuck with the issue. Playing mostly off TV with joy cons attached to Switch so not a massive issue at the moment, but would like it resolved of course.
I've noticed that when playing the game you have to DOUBLE click the L and R shoulder buttons to lock onto target and reset the camera view - single press doesn't work as outlined in digital manual. You just have to get this game!
I am loving Xenoblade X at the moment, it's so much fun to play - just running around and exploring is great and it feels so vast and teeming with life. art design is terrific too. Huge shame about poor sales, deserves much more attention and isn't really that Niche a game. I have a PS4 but the wii u is always much more fun to play - there is just something special about it.
