Peripheral maker 8Bitdo has released a new firmware update for its range of controllers which eliminates input lag when playing on Switch.
8Bitdo produces a range of retro-themed pads which mimic the look and feel of classic controllers from the NES and SNES era. The firmware update which provides Switch support went live earlier this year, but there have been complaints about input lag from some customers.
We didn't notice any during our time with the controllers, but 8Bitdo clearly feels there's an issue as version 4.01 of the firmware - which is available now - specifically addresses controller lag.

Update log says it's when using with other controllers, so maybe using joycons and the 8bitdo pads for say 4 player Mario Kart?
mine was working well but now I can't seem to get it to connect anymore.
Never had an issue with my controller, but good to hear nonetheless.
I may've been imagining it, but I think I was experiencing minuscule input lag when playing Sonic Mania with my SFC30 the other day.
I hope this firmware addresses that.
These controllers are a pain. I stopped using mine
I can confirm that there is lag when you play with someone else using the pro controller or joy-con, or even when you play with someone else using another Switch unit.
I've been hesitiant to get one, because I heard that there was severe input lag when playing with another person using a joy-con. Now that that appears to be fixed, I may look into it a little more.
If you used joycons and the nes30pro it had major lag, it would cut out for .5 seconds every 3 seconds or so. I am super glad they fixed this because I really wanted to play multiplayer without shit sideways joycons. This issue only effected 2 of their controllers.
I'm strongly considering getting one of their wireless SNES controllers for the Classic SNES, but I heard they had a lag problem on the Classic NES, and if that's still the case that could be a dealbreaker.
my friend owns 2 pairs of joycons and 2 8bitdo controllers, there is no problem when using these controllers alone but everytime he uses them along with the joycons, he has issues (disconnections, problems to connect....).
maybe a conflict with the joycons ?
Might get one of the wireless SNES controllers but am still not sure yet.
I know using 2 controllers with 2 retro receivers caused lag on the RetroUSB AVS. Hopefully that's been fixed. Updating now to test...
EDIT: Nope... Oh well...
