Good. This is what I want from One Piece. Unlimited World is just plain garbage in its combat since it lacks any real combos or anything fun, in general.
@PlywoodStick Honestly, it still has over 1 million active users, particularly in metropolitan and city areas. It only dies in places with little to no pokestops or gyms.
It's gotten much better. Hopefully they implement trading and trainer-to-trainer battling soon; that should revitalize it a great deal.
Never gotten Umbreon, calling it Tamao or otherwise.
I've seen another thing about walking 10 km with an eevee as your buddy, then evolving it at night (or day for Espeon). I have 1 Flareon, 3 Jolteons, 3 Vaporeons, and 2 Espeons. WHERE IS MAH UMBREON
@SimplyCinnamon53 that isn't the same series. The first one was just "The Fall", back on WiiU. Black: The Fall is a separate game from a separate dev completely unrelated.
Typically not my type of roguelike, but I have been thoroughly enjoying this (however frustrating it may be). I've already lost many heroes, but 10 hours in is when I finally got a handle on all the mechanics of the game. Only one hero of mine has survived from the very beginning of the game, a Vestal named Raimbeaucort. PROTECT YOUR HEALERS
@bluesdance Or at least bring some more of their better games. I love Neon Chrome. It's my second most played Switch game with over 40 hours so far. I want more of the roguelike goodness of that from them.
This year is looking spectacular. MP4 has me the most hyped, but I'm looking forward to Kirby (missed the power mixing from 64, but this looks a cut above), Travis Strikes Again, Dark Souls, and Hyrule Warriors a ton.
While it is a true roguelike in many ways, it really just doesn't do it on music or "fun-factor" for me. The music especially is a problem.
As far as roguelikes go, I'll stick to more "lites" like Neon Chrome (40 hours of play so far; your 5 seemed quite harsh of a score) and One More Dungeon.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Commercial printing is expensive (source: worked in commercial printing for almost 4 years, now, and even do prints for Nintendo). There's the cardboard, ink, and especially the custom dies for perforating the special shapes needed for this. Plus it comes with the software.
People always underestimate just how much printing costs.
I work in commercial printing (and actually do some covers for Nintendo).
Everyone underestimates just how much printing/manufacture costs. The cardboard and ink itself is a large part, but so is the cost of intricate perforated die-cutting.
Honestly, I never saw the NL review early on. This game I'd give a solid 8. It is still my most played indie title on Switch, and my second-most played overall with over 40 hours. It can definitely be a lot of fun. Scratches the itch that Binding of Isaac simply can't, for me (particularly because of BoI's aesthetic; I love The Behemoth/Newgrounds, but it doesn't always do it for me).
Enjoyed it on the WiiU, but sadly this is only single player, still. I asked the dev on Twitter and they stated the multiplayer would remain a PC-exclusive feature. No reason for me to double-dip on this one.
From what I understand, the Dev Kits will often have dummy files with random games as a placeholder, and a filesize around what's shown. This has some merit.
Geist, Smuggler's Run: Warzones, Timesplitters Future Perfect, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, Kirby Air Ride, and Metroid Prime 2 would definitely expand the list for me.
Really emphasizes the "lite" in rogue-lite. This isn't even remotely a roguelike. Just being randomly generated does not immediately constitute "roguelike".
Didn't realize Crimsonland was also 10Tons. I play that extensively, partly due to the nostalgia. I see that Plasma/Ion/Bullets has been a steady trifecta for them, then. Lots of great top-down goodness with them.
@gcunit I mean, they aren't even remotely connected story-wise, but XCX is easily my favorite, and one of my WiiU to 5, and one of my favorite games of all time.
Honestly, a 6 or 7 is what I'd probably have given it, too. It is truly a nostalgia trip for me, as I loved games like this (like Phobia II) as a kid. Wave survival games are always a blast and a decent break from all the twin-stick roguelikes, which require a little more thought.
This is pretty hilarious, considering Xbox and Sony fans alike all jumped on the "NintenDoomed" bandwagon. Now we have Microsoft as the one wanting to move laterally.
Honestly had an absolute blast with it on WiiU, especially with friends.
My only complaint is that the bosses don't repeat. I hope they address that-- it gets too easy at some points down the line without powered up baddies.
I voted Bomberman, since he deserves it more than anyone. He has been on every last Nintendo console, INCLUDING the Virtual Boy, EXCEPT 3DS and WiiU. That is a long history.

Re: Review: Castle of Heart (Switch eShop)
@MagnaRoader I mean, that's how it was in the old school days, too. It is, by no means, a "modern" trend.
Re: Fantasy Strike Is A Switch Fighter Where Anything Can Be A Weapon
One of several games I definitely want to see more of from the direct.
Re: Review: Bit Dungeon Plus (Switch eShop)
Glad to see it is now a 4-player game. WiiU was only 2.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Considers "Nintendo Switch Pro" With NVIDIA Tegra 2 Processor
I mean, as long as they implement cloud saves and such for system transfers, it'd end up okay, I'm sure.
Re: Twin-Stick Shooter Tesla vs Lovecraft Is Blasting Onto Switch This Week
Neon Chrome is one of my favorite games on the Switch. Over 50 hours of playtime, so far. Excited to see how this one fares.
Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Is Getting A Bootiful Deluxe Edition On Switch
Good. This is what I want from One Piece. Unlimited World is just plain garbage in its combat since it lacks any real combos or anything fun, in general.
Re: Review: NORTH (Switch eShop)
I mean, $2.99 and a cyberpunk soundtrack isn't bad. I may just check it out.
Re: Review: Subsurface Circular (Switch eShop)
Holy CRAP I did not expect a 10. A game out of nowhere, and a 10 out of nowhere. I really should check it out.

Re: Pokémon GO Could Be Getting New Story Quests
Well, now. That would be pretty cool. Still play fairly often. Never heard of the Silph Road group, but that seems worthwhile
Re: Sleep Kirby's Sleep Copy Ability Will Be Coming To Kirby Battle Royale
Oh.
Was considering getting it, but now, with a fanbase adding crap abilities in, I might not.

Re: Review: Celeste (Switch eShop)
To be honest, I'm surprised at all the 10s this game is receiving. I never expected a game of this genre to do so well.
Personally not entirely my kind of game, but that's good to see it doing well.

Yodanji is something I'd more likely give a 5.
Re: Nintendo Announces Labo, A Range Of Interactive DIY Toys For Switch
@WiltonRoots Love to know that other people actually can grasp the pricing concept, here.

The price is justified.

Re: Developers Can Now Use The Versatile PhyreEngine On Nintendo Switch
Always good to have more compatibility. I can't say I really enjoy DQB much at all, but at the very least it helps bring us more.

Pikmin 4 is looking pretty good

Re: Feature: It's Time to Vote for Your 2017 Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards
The lack of Neon Chrome in the Switch eShop category is depressing-- that's one of my top 5 most played games on my system (out of more than 25)
Re: Online Brawler Starflux Rivals Is Headed To Switch
Destructible environments in a brawler/platform fighter? Sounds pretty cool
Re: PolyGod Aims to Bring 'Hardcore' and Colourful FPS Action to Switch Next Year
I already have 4 roguelikes on my Switch. I love them. If it's good, I love FPS roguelites, too. Can't wait!

Re: Sci-Fi Shooter Morphite Touches Down On Switch This September
Metroid Prime & Turok as influence? And a pretty cool art style?
Pretty damn sold.
Re: Shovel Knight and Shantae Join The World of Blaster Master Zero
Honestly, this just makes me want Blaster Master to be continued as a bigger series. Truly novel concepts back then, and still quite fun, today.
Re: Circle Reveals New Release Details on Implosion: Never Lose Hope
I mean, that's a helluva trailer, but the typo "Humanities Last Stand" (as opposed to "Humanity's Last Stand") kinda sets me off.
Re: Pokémon Gold And Silver Are Coming To The 3DS Virtual Console
Honestly, this was the best part about the direct. You get 2 whole regions in these games.

I voted Bomberman, since he deserves it more than anyone. He has been on every last Nintendo console, INCLUDING the Virtual Boy, EXCEPT 3DS and WiiU. That is a long history.
Re: Once Bitten, Twice Dead Coming to Wii U
I'm sold on co-op. I love the fact that there will be local, too. Day one.
Re: Review: GravBlocks+ (Wii U eShop)
I bought it, and enjoyed it a decent bit. I'd say 6 or 7 out of 10 is a fair review.
Re: Review: Pac-Attack (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
DO NOT GET THIS
It is ALREADY INCLUDED in the GBA 'Pac-Man Collection', which is the same price.
Re: Tomonobu Itagaki Gives an Update on Devil’s Third, Describing it as the "Biggest Game"
I simply cannot wait for this to come out.
Re: Review: Breezeblox (Wii U eShop)
I am reminded of the great flash game Bloxorz.
Think I'll pick this one up.
Re: Review: Undead Storm Nightmare (3DS eShop)
The first was poopitypoop compared to Dracula: Undead Awakening and Monster Shooter. I plan on purchasing this one, though.
Re: ZaciSa: Defense of the Crayon Dimension! Heading to the Wii U eShop in Europe
I own the original, too. It is pretty fun. It is also the only TD game on WiiU with local multiplayer. I will certainly pick this one up.
