@Mr-Fuggles777 Are you implying that game development team in Nintendo also handling legal issues? Are they taking care of catering too? Janitorial duty? Accounting and human resources? Wow, what a multi tasking team, developing games while also taking down piracy at the same time. Who needs a separate legal department if your programmer can do that and everything else.
Look, I get your complaint. But when Nintendo does things like this or making theme park etc, these don't have anything to do with their game development pace. That's not how a big company works.
@Razer Maybe the RAM increase in the end isn't enough for RE Engine and barely enough for older games port. Just adding more RAM isn't solution for everything despite the meme. We're both not game programmers with industry insider knowledge so let's not pretend to be.
In the end I think you're overthinking this. If you want the latest and greatest from third party, Nintendo console isn't for you. It's generally accepted that Switch is companion to PC or other 'big boys' consoles. Maybe that's what third party publishers think too. Bought my Switch for NIntendo games and indies and loving it. But I do not wish to play butchered choppy DMC5 or blurry RE7 on it, would rather have them on my PC or PS4 instead.
@Razer You know, most PS2 games used single-layer DVD that can hold 4.7GB of data, some can even exceed that and resorted to dual disc or using higher capacity DVD9. I don't know what DMC3 used back then, or if it even fill the full capacity of the disk. But with a lot of cinematics and voiced cutscenes, I'm pretty sure it's close to filling the whole disk. The point is, 5GB for the enhanced version with upgraded visual (including upscaled textures etc) is very reasonable, I thought it'd be bigger than that . And really, for today's standard 5GB digital game is basically nothing. As for your general Capcom complain itself, maybe one of the reason got to do with their engine. The older one, MT Framework was very versatile and can work in even 3DS. The current one, RE Engine, seems to require heavy horsepower and maybe tricky if not impossible to port to Switch. Before anyone say "but Witcher 3 and Doom etc", every engine is unique especially a company's proprietary one. What works in one engine may not work in another. And certainly nobody should torture themselves playing DMC5 on Switch if it has choppy frame rate.
@Razer Hold on there, just because DMC3 is old doesn't mean it's trash. It's widely considered the best in Devil May Cry series, or even the entire action genre. It's a classic that worth porting to every console generation.
You probably mistaking it with DMC2, that one is genuine hot trash.
@sword_9mm I don't want to sound like elitist hardcore gamer but this game is actually far less complex and more forgiving than Armored Core. If you think Daemon X Machina has too many things going on, you haven't seen all. @Moistnado So I suppose you have the first demo then because the second/finished demo started with basic tutorial mission, like realllyyy basic mission that I doubt anyone can have any difficulty to start and finish with more depth added later.
@Moistnado I think you played the first demo, the second finished demo contained the first chapter of the game, basically tutorial chapter. It does featuring desert level but more story and dialogue than the first one. Also what were you expecting from the game? I'm curious since you said it's less exciting than you expected. For me it's clear from the first trailer that it will play like Armored Core, then E3 Treehouse showed the loot system which led me to believe it's a mix of Armored Core gameplay with Monster Hunter progression loop. And I got exactly just that, which I'm happy with. I don't know about you or others though.
Nothing wrong with games that take heavy inspiration from another more established and popular game, as long as they put effort and their own spin to the formula. That's how a genre or subgenre started. We wouldn't have 2D fighters if nobody bother to "clone" Street Fighter 2. Sure, some if not most of them ended up to be cheap cash-grab attempt but then we have something like King of Fighters etc that proved to be worthy rival of the series that started the said genre. Or the same case in Monster Hunter with Toukiden, God Eater, Dauntless, etc. Don't dismiss a game because it's a "clone", or getting mad because someone called a favorite game of yours as a clone of something more popular. We will have more choice in the genre and more competition will force the "original" to be on their toes to stay on spot. It's a win for us fans.
Here's my thought on this debacle based from what I understand about Japanese idol industry. Them having bikini photoshoot is common practice, even if said idols are below 18. Is it wrong, creepy, and form of sexualization? Maybe for us but look at it from their perspective. Bikini and swimsuits are just that, another costume to wear just like school uniform and french maid. Idols are often portrayed as pure and innocent even when they wear stuff that other culture might labeled as not for innocent girl.
But it exposes more skin than other costumes, you might argue. Yes, but exposed skin = sexual is more of western idea. No, I'm not trying to normalize or justifying it but think about it, you can sexualize anything including perfectly fine outfit like school uniform with proper knee-length skirt. Have you heard 'Zettai Ryouiki'? It fetishized a sliver of skin shown between the edge of the skirt and knee socks. That's just one example of how you can sexualize everything even mundane stuff...or being too sensitive and called everything as sexualization because it doesn't align to your moral and cultural compass.
These teen idols who did release swimsuit photobooks (called 'gravure'), they don't face stigma associated to porn actresses or sex workers. They moved on later in life, having successful career in mainstream entertainment or retreated back into private life but nobody would debase or insult them behind their back. Yes there's always deranged or obsessive fans but they got nothing to do with the fact that the idols they worship exposed their skin or not.
You might think it's bad because swimsuit modelling like this can be gateway to something raunchier like actual porn but here's a fact: of all hundreds or even thousands of teen idols who most of them did some gravure only very few of them actually ended up doing porn. An industry with much stricter regulation, and those women only do it later in life in their mid-twenties and only because they're losing relevancy.
So yeah, bikini photo shoots are part of normal idol business. It's hard to accept or understand it for us non-Japanese, yes, but so does other very Japanese things in the game including the concept of being an idol itself. If the publisher is afraid that western audience "won't get it", then don't cherry pick and go all out pulling stuff like Persona 1 or Phoenix Wright: change the setting to America and rename the characters with western name. This kind of half-assed indecisiveness is what I don't like with this kind of censorship, not just the actual subject that got cut.
If I want to see all that idol industry (or Japanese culture in general) the game can offer, then give them all. Good or bad, right or wrong, disturbing or not, just let me see and experience them in entirety because I'm an adult and I know everything is not all sunshine and I'm also aware there are cultures and mindset out there that will clash with mine.
As expected Japanese players top the rank, and spamming healing aux is a problem with people abusing the time limit. From my short experience fighting another human is far more intense than any AI can give. Hopefully they will balance some overpowered parts out.
Get ready to be destroyed by Japanese players. If anyone ever see that video of Armored Core player using reverse claw grip, I wonder what extreme they'll go with this game.
@westman98 It's very niche genre to begin with. The publisher's antics may add to the factor but the game is always not for everyone to begin with. If From Soft ever make new Armored Core game, I bet it will still sold less than their Souls game. Being mecha fan is suffering.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Because it's the same thing. Bad acting to set up a flimsy premise then follow up by certain heavy physical activity with sweat and a lot of grunting.
The game crashed on me first time in the tutorial level. Never had that with any other Switch game before. Then an enemy stuck in the geometry in another level. Not really good first impression technical-wise but so far I like it. I always dream of Ace Combat x Armored Core gameplay crossover but the inexperience on the dev team shows.
Funny how some people goes "SEGA is doomed" just because their classic games re-release line is struggling. That's like going all Nintendoomed because NES Remix is a flop. Yakuza series is very huge in Japan, not to mention other franchises, and now include Atlus IPs too. If you think those old games are the only thing SEGA has now, you're stuck in the past.
@KingMike Xenosaga DS isn't straight port, but rather full remake into 2D sprites style graphics like SNES-era JRPGs. It's a very different thing than the PS2 version(s).
@CaPPa The thing is those DLC costumes are mostly promotional and seasonal, as I said before. Do you think they can fit 5 years worth of Halloween or Christmas costumes from day one? No they can't, and it makes more sense to release them in timely manner fitting the theme. And no way Tecmo can predict what company they can partner with for crossover costumes later, as they did with SNK and Falcom. So the argument that they should have include ALL the costumes is wishful thinking. Look, I dislike DLC practice too but let's be realistic here, DOA5 wouldn't ever get released if Tecmo tried to cram all those costumes in the base game from day one. And there's enough costumes in the game for you to unlock in the game to begin with, on-par with past games including Dimensions. It's not like you only have one costume and must buy the rest.
@CaPPa Calling everything in DOA5 behind paywall is an exaggeration. If you just bought the game, you'll get everything you need for a fighting game. Story mode, arcade mode, survival mode, team battle, training mode etc, and most importantly a lot of characters with varied style that you can play with. Sure, there are DLC characters but the game is already full of characters enough for you to master in your lifetime. Those $2000 worth of DLCs are mostly costumes that add nothing to the gameplay, they won't make you any better in online play and won't even show up in story mode cutscenes. Those costumes are mostly seasonal and promotional. In short, buying just the base game alone is enough, it's a complete game on its own similar to any game before it.
And yes, I know there is free to play version where you have to buy everything including the modes, but that's just alternative version and can't be compared to the main version that is the retail one.
@ShadJV Using the sales of N64 in its heyday as your base reasoning isn't wrong, but you completely ignore the one thing that makes this mini-console trend successful: retro gaming fever and hype that affected many people even younger generations who never experienced the actual console back in the day. Internet has shaped public opinion on what was a commercial failure into "underrated/underappreciated" thing now. Pretty sure many people who buy NES/SNES classic never play it in their youth. Or people like me, I missed out N64 back in the day since I pick PS1. But later I'm intrigued with things I've missed out like N64 or Sega Saturn. Internet definitely helped with my fascination of those things.
All I'm saying is, there's another factor to consider than just its past sales performance. You can't compare these mini/classic console with the modern ones, as they're riding in retro gaming mania and nostalgia wave (either nostalgia of actual console or general nostalgia of its era like me who never own one).
@CanisWolfred In Warriors Orochi 3 there are plenty of stages where you will fail if you don't reach your objective in time and that requires some tight planning. In DW8 enemy officers can eat you alive if you don't learn about weapon elements and switch-counter attack, even in normal difficulty. BTW that's new feature introduced in DW8, wow it's shocking that they introduced new gameplay element in each new series right? Also it's not something you need to overanalyze it, they show you right at tutorial. Then there's managing the keeps and outposts in Hyrule Warriors, or the fields in DW Gundam. I don't remember any Musou game that's just as straightforward as you said. Maybe Neptunia U, but that's not even Koei's (yes, they're not monopolizing the genre). Also your logic sounds ignorant, how do you think challenges in Warriors games are not worth it if you never even give it a chance? You recognize it as its own thing, so why keep comparing its elements to another games? Yes, Total War can give you better challenge in strategy and DMC can give you better complexity in combat, but Warriors series can also give you challenges in its own thing you wouldn't find in other games. Once you start see it as a whole and not just a bunch of separate elements that other games did better. If you want some easy time with games, then you can just play any games in easy difficulty. It's not exclusive to Warriors series, and it's unfair to think that the series/genre only has that kind of experience to offer. I once beat Platinum's Metal Gear Rising in easy, ignoring all the advanced moves the game offered. It was fun enough, but I do acknowledged that I'm missing a lot.
@CanisWolfred I don't know what Warriors game you've played but you don't really need to "overanalyze them or look for complexities that aren't obvious". Because those "complexities" like light strategy element and weapon/equipment stats etc are actually part of the series since, like, the longest time. And very obvious. They also add more to the game. It is awesome when you can slay 1000 enemy soldiers, but it's even more awesome when you can pick the best route to enemy camp like a cunning strategist you are, then defeat enemy general in a duel with your lightning sword that happened to be his elemental weakness. All while slaying 1000 enemies along the way, in style. Now that's a thing you can't do in Total War. I don't remember any game in the genre where you can beat the game, or even a stage by standing still in one area and mindlessly pressing attack button like many people think it is. You'd either failed the mission or owned by enemy officers. So I don't understand how you think the game should just stick to hackin' and slashin'. See, the concept of Warriors/Musou genre is 'you fighting big battle in big battlefield' with hack n slash around hordes of enemy as just one element of gameplay, therefore other elements like strategy or equipment preparation have similar importance in the game. And they may not be as deep as other game specialized in it, but they can be fun and add more to the gameplay.
People who snarkily mock warriors games as shallow button masher with no variation in gameplay are likely only play briefly or not at all. They can be surprisingly deep if you dig in. Of course like many series quality is varied between entries, that's why when DW9 turned out to be shallow and bland (like most non-fans think the series always is) longtime fans are disappointed.
The problem here is that in the game murdering everyone until the last one standing is alright and encouraged but stuff like this caused an uproar. Reminds me that time in Miiverse (RIP) someone asked why Fatal Frame 5 is still rated M if the swimsuit costume is removed in western version. Apparently many people think that blood, gore and depressing things like human sacrifice and suicide are wholesome family entertainment but swimsuit is the evil. And I also found out Miiverse banned the word 'suicide'.
Quit your conspiracy and grudge theories guys. The truth is that the new Dragon engine that powered Yakuza 6, Kiwami 2, and definitely future games in the franchise is already struggling to run in base PS4, let alone Switch. The Yakuza dev team aren't known for their technological wizardry (it took a longtime for them to develop said new engine) so don't expect them to magically make that engine run well on Switch somehow. Sure they can port older games with the old engine like 0 and Kiwami but at this point it won't help Switch reputation for being late into the game.
@Cobalt Nope, you can play XCX with just one screen. My brother plays XCX exclusively in gamepad and he's doing fine. The difference is just one extra tap to switch to map screen.
I found this video where they have Marty Friedman, Megadeth's ex-guitarist to try the game. Kinda weird to invite a guitarist instead of a drummer but eh https://youtu.be/9d2Awz55EEE
What I don't get is why regular Xbox One sold more than Xbox One X. I can understand if Japanese people got curious with the technology inside XBX but it sold less than its vanilla counterpart; could it be that some people got confused and ended up buying S version instead of X? Or maybe they just want to play Cuphead so buying XBX for that is overkill.
I search through all comment so far and only one, ONE person mentioned Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series. You Nintendo gamers probably not familiar with it, which is understandable, but that series is actually huge in Japan. In the west they're some kind of niche and only gaining popularity recently but in Japan they're like Call Of Duty or Assassin's Creed here with yearly release and big hype surrounding the releases. It's SEGA's cash cow right now, and they'll keep pushing it because the series is a brainchild of the company current leader Toshihiro Nagoshi.
So while they don't do much with their old IPs, they do have some (relatively) new hotness like Yakuza/RGG, Project Diva, or Total War series.
I remember one stupid question in Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water Miiverse community: "If the bikini costumes are removed then why the game is still rated M?" Yeah sure, forget all the gore, depressing tone and story, and its heavy focus on suicide. Apparently optional costumes that shows some skin are the most dangerous thing that children should never see and thus the only factor to warrant its mature rating. Nice logic there. I wanted to be snark and reply like that, but I was sure that post would get deleted; and "suicide" apparently is forbidden word in Miiverse anyrway even in M-rated game community.
Guys, it's pointless to argue with @SLIGEACH_EIRE about Switch. He wanted Nintendo to make powerful console on par with the competition so he can play all those sweet sweet 3rd party AAA games. But we know that didn't happen, so he's salty about what Switch ended up as. It's that childish.
@CheddarSword Your argument/complaint against a system in this infancy makes no sense, especially when you said before that 3DS is good system, but surely you remember how it was struggling in its early days leading to price cut (I bet you'd say "stick with your DS" at that point). Switch early days now are more promising than 3DS or even Wii U. And it's not like Nintendo will never ever release any other games other than what's shown this year. Also you wrote that wall of text to reply to KryptoKrunch while completely ignoring one simple fact: people can and do own multiple systems. Not everyone here is rabid Nintendo fan who swore to never buy system from other company. You said Switch owners are missing out as if everyone here only owned Switch and nothing else. If people buy Switch because they want to play few games available for it now to complement their other system, why not? If anything buying a Switch due to its unique hybrid concept to complement other consoles/PC makes more sense than owning both of the redundant PS4 and XBox One. Finally, please, you don't need to tell us that FOUR years-old system that happened to lead the sales has more exclusive library than a new system barely few months old. That's like, super obvious.
@SKTTR Due to convoluted localization hijinks, Japanese numbering on DW and WO are one number behind western version. So the upcoming DW9 is actually Shin Sangoku Musou 8 in Japan. @CheddarSword "That's it"...for now. I mean, come on, Switch isn't even a year old already. For a long while in its early years even PS4 was mocked because its only worthy exclusive was just Bloodborne with other titles being either multiplatform or remasters. It's common thing in console early years.
@YANDMAN there's no need to kid myself because I've played many musou games to completion. They're engaging enough for me to spend times with them for dozens of hour each. Because my attention span is more than five minutes unlike you.
@YANDMAN Well that's your problem, if you only for play five minutes then you only scratch the surface. You don't even meet Lu Bu in the first minutes of DW8.
I suspect people who said Warriors games are boring and repetitive are just that, only play (or watch) for a brief time and unwilling to learn its deeper mechanics. It's like fighting games, pro players likened fighting game match as chess match; but anyone can button mash the same game and still beat the low difficulty then get bored instantly.
Where are the talents of SEGA gone, you ask? Going to Yakuza team it seems which I approve because the last few Yakuza games are so good. @BiggerBoat @maruse the sad thing about SLIGEACH_EIRE is that we'll have to put up with his whining for the next 2-3 generations. So he wanted to have those 3rd party AAA games other consoles have, but he once said that he will never buy rival systems. He want them on Nintendo system...completely ignoring the facts that Nintendo has given up on competing in hardware power. He's too bonehead to accept that and will continue on ranting how Nintendo should make powerful console spec-wise. And calling things overpriced while he's at it because he can't afford them.
@Kalmaro Well it has been years since the last 2D Metroid, skipping DS generation entirely. That kinda hinted how much faith Nintendo has in the franchise. The sad reality is that the loudest fanbase (like Metroid or F-Zero) isn't always the most profitable one.
@Kalmaro The reasoning here is that Nintendo tried to revive 2D Metroid franchise again after long dormancy, it's kind of experiment/test for them so logically they play it safe by releasing it in the larger and existing user base that is 3DS. Instead of gambling in still-growing Switch. Your argument that releasing Samus' Returns in Switch will drive the console sales forward is logical. But in this special case (like I said, being a test), Nintendo need the big 3DS audience to drive the game sales forward. Not the other way around.
@Kalmaro They're NOT focusing solely on 3DS and ignoring Switch like you said, stop exaggerating. Nintendo is building Switch install base while still maintaining existing (and still profitable) 3DS user base at the same time. We got Prime 4 for Switch, Samus' Returns for 3DS. Fair enough I'd say. And before you say 3DS is a dead horse, no it's not (yet). It's more profitable for Nintendo to have both Switch AND 3DS selling well instead just only one of them selling.
I have this feeling since the first Switch presentation that Nintendo push Koizumi as the face of Nintendo Switch and grooming him to become future president after Kimishima. Which I wholeheartedly okay with.
@pigwarts5ever I don't see it either. Also just to the side of headphone jack there's something that looks like IR receiver. Or maybe that's where the stylus is.

Re: Sega Ages Line Struggling To Appeal In Japan, Interest Overseas Better Than Expected
Re: Video: Digging Deep Into Resident Evil 2 On N64, One Of The Most Remarkable Ports Of All Time
@KingMike Xenosaga DS isn't straight port, but rather full remake into 2D sprites style graphics like SNES-era JRPGs. It's a very different thing than the PS2 version(s).
Re: Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet Is Splashing Onto The Switch Early Next Year
@CaPPa The thing is those DLC costumes are mostly promotional and seasonal, as I said before.
Re: Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet Is Splashing Onto The Switch Early Next Year
@CaPPa Calling everything in DOA5 behind paywall is an exaggeration.
Re: Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet Is Splashing Onto The Switch Early Next Year
@marck13 This is just spin-off of the real DOA fighting game series, don't mistake one on another. Which sadly most people tend to do.
Re: Video: The Nintendo 64 Classic Mini "Leak" is Completely Fake
Re: Random: Switch Hack-And-Slash Game Warriors Orochi 4 Just Won A Guinness World Record
Re: Random: Switch Hack-And-Slash Game Warriors Orochi 4 Just Won A Guinness World Record
Re: Random: Switch Hack-And-Slash Game Warriors Orochi 4 Just Won A Guinness World Record
Re: Epic Says Jiggle Physics Included In Latest Fortnite Update Were "Unintended"
Re: Nintendo Didn’t Want Yakuza Series, According To Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi
Quit your conspiracy and grudge theories guys. The truth is that the new Dragon engine that powered Yakuza 6, Kiwami 2, and definitely future games in the franchise is already struggling to run in base PS4, let alone Switch. The Yakuza dev team aren't known for their technological wizardry (it took a longtime for them to develop said new engine) so don't expect them to magically make that engine run well on Switch somehow.
Sure they can port older games with the old engine like 0 and Kiwami but at this point it won't help Switch reputation for being late into the game.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Developer Monolith Soft Has Hired More Employees
@Cobalt Nope, you can play XCX with just one screen. My brother plays XCX exclusively in gamepad and he's doing fine. The difference is just one extra tap to switch to map screen.

Re: Nintendo Switch Continues to Dominate in Japan
What I don't get is why regular Xbox One sold more than Xbox One X. I can understand if Japanese people got curious with the technology inside XBX but it sold less than its vanilla counterpart; could it be that some people got confused and ended up buying S version instead of X? Or maybe they just want to play Cuphead so buying XBX for that is overkill.

Anyone remember a band with the same name from early 2000s? No? Man, I feel so old.
Re: Sega Lowers Full Year Forecast Amid Pachinko Performance Problems
Re: Random: Say Goodbye To Miiverse With This Touching Tribute
I remember one stupid question in Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water Miiverse community:
"If the bikini costumes are removed then why the game is still rated M?"
Yeah sure, forget all the gore, depressing tone and story, and its heavy focus on suicide.
Re: Nintendo Wants Everyone In Your House To Have Their Own Switch
Guys, it's pointless to argue with @SLIGEACH_EIRE about Switch. He wanted Nintendo to make powerful console on par with the competition so he can play all those sweet sweet 3rd party AAA games. But we know that didn't happen, so he's salty about what Switch ended up as. It's that childish.
Re: Take a Look at Three Musou / Warriors Games Heading to Switch in Japan
Re: Take a Look at Three Musou / Warriors Games Heading to Switch in Japan
@SKTTR Due to convoluted localization hijinks, Japanese numbering on DW and WO are one number behind western version. So the upcoming DW9 is actually Shin Sangoku Musou 8 in Japan.
@CheddarSword "That's it"...for now. I mean, come on, Switch isn't even a year old already. For a long while in its early years even PS4 was mocked because its only worthy exclusive was just Bloodborne with other titles being either multiplatform or remasters. It's common thing in console early years.
Re: Preview: Fire Emblem Warriors Could Be The Best Musou Game Yet
@YANDMAN there's no need to kid myself because I've played many musou games to completion. They're engaging enough for me to spend times with them for dozens of hour each. Because my attention span is more than five minutes unlike you.
Re: Preview: Fire Emblem Warriors Could Be The Best Musou Game Yet
@YANDMAN Well that's your problem, if you only for play five minutes then you only scratch the surface. You don't even meet Lu Bu in the first minutes of DW8.
I suspect people who said Warriors games are boring and repetitive are just that, only play (or watch) for a brief time and unwilling to learn its deeper mechanics. It's like fighting games, pro players likened fighting game match as chess match; but anyone can button mash the same game and still beat the low difficulty then get bored instantly.
Re: Sega Confirms Sonic Forces Is 720p, 30fps On Nintendo Switch
Re: Series Producer Yoshio Sakamoto Is Interested In Making Another 2D Metroid
@Kalmaro Well it has been years since the last 2D Metroid, skipping DS generation entirely. That kinda hinted how much faith Nintendo has in the franchise. The sad reality is that the loudest fanbase (like Metroid or F-Zero) isn't always the most profitable one.
Re: Series Producer Yoshio Sakamoto Is Interested In Making Another 2D Metroid
@Kalmaro The reasoning here is that Nintendo tried to revive 2D Metroid franchise again after long dormancy, it's kind of experiment/test for them so logically they play it safe by releasing it in the larger and existing user base that is 3DS. Instead of gambling in still-growing Switch.
Your argument that releasing Samus' Returns in Switch will drive the console sales forward is logical. But in this special case (like I said, being a test), Nintendo need the big 3DS audience to drive the game sales forward. Not the other way around.
Re: Series Producer Yoshio Sakamoto Is Interested In Making Another 2D Metroid
@Kalmaro They're NOT focusing solely on 3DS and ignoring Switch like you said, stop exaggerating. Nintendo is building Switch install base while still maintaining existing (and still profitable) 3DS user base at the same time. We got Prime 4 for Switch, Samus' Returns for 3DS. Fair enough I'd say.
And before you say 3DS is a dead horse, no it's not (yet). It's more profitable for Nintendo to have both Switch AND 3DS selling well instead just only one of them selling.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Producer Talks amiibo, Pauline and Coffee Techniques on Reddit
I have this feeling since the first Switch presentation that Nintendo push Koizumi as the face of Nintendo Switch and grooming him to become future president after Kimishima. Which I wholeheartedly okay with.
