Marvelous has today provided an update on its future plans for Daemon X Machina, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive mech action game which launched earlier this month.
The studio has shared an Update Roadmap for the game on its Japanese site, revealing plans for new content which is to be implemented from October through to December. Here's a rundown of the additions coming your way (thanks, Nintendo Everything):
- October: 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 battle modes; rankings for bounties
- Early November: three collaborations with popular franchises, adding costumes and Arsenals
- Late November: special Reclaimers for co-op mode; new weapons, armor and bosses
- December: new Reclaimers for co-op mode; new weapons, armor and more
We enjoyed the game when playing it for review, but thought that it felt a little too repetitive on the whole. Hopefully those new modes can help to offer an extra bit of variety.
Earlier today, we also shared the news that the game's official soundtrack has appeared on the likes of Spotify and iTunes, with physical CD orders now available, too.
Not a bad day for Daemon X Machina fans, huh?

Now I'm really excited, I put 50 hours in making my favorite mech classes, now I'm gonna get to troll people with my maximum stamina/boost builds.
Nice! I really like this game and was hoping for some versus modes.
They really should have delayed this game into the holiday season. With Pokemon's general reception and the holiday season looks pretty slow for Nintendo.
What a shame, this game seemed doomed from the start
Interesting. I really enjoyed the game but I did end it feeling like it could use a bit more content so good to see some updates on the way.
Fair play to them for supporting the game and the people who bought it.
Interesting that even third tier first party still receive more post release update/content than Mario Party (which I guess would be 2nd Tier), so I guess sale aren’t the deciding factor for post launch content...
Wow! That is Fr#*king awesome!
This can be nothing but a good thing for the game, and fans alike!
Awesome- love this game and have been alternating between this and link's awakening. Machina is a top 10 NS game for me and am thrilled to have more content on the way.
@Chunkboi79 Agreed. For me now is a good gap also between releases, though i've still a lot on my plate with Astral Chain, GRID, Links Awakening, Divinity Origional Sin 2 - too many games!
A great game getting even better. Awesome.
That is great news! Bravo on them for continuing support as opposed to a one-and-done dump. I enjoy the game, and working on specific builds lends itself to cool strategies.
It’s nice to see this game get more support.
Also, three collaborations with popular franchises huh? I wonder what they will be? I’m guessing No More Heroes might be one of them.
The most underrated (and arguably most addictive) game on Switch gets better...
It all seems only positive, so that's a big plus. Glad they will be supporting it for a while! Been a fun game and yeah it's def utr so hopefully this'll keep attention on it so it isn't totally buried by the release date. ^_^
Hopefully this encourages more sales, too, as it drops in price over time, for those who were/are on the fence.
I wonder if this is related to the message "contains in game purhases" on the eshop page for this game.
That’s cool; I mean I do want to try versus in this game and more costumes. I play it but sometimes I need to take a break from it all and play another time. Regardless of the game.
Get ready to be destroyed by Japanese players. If anyone ever see that video of Armored Core player using reverse claw grip, I wonder what extreme they'll go with this game.
@Chunkboi79 I think the general perception of Pokemon is positive. The giant Pokemon gimmick and the absolutely pointless contraversy about not all 800+ pokemon making it in are literally the only complaints I've seen. I mean, they gave pokemon stadium a story without the shadow pokemon gimmick of the GameCube games. Which, by the way, had the same justification around why there wasn't wild pokemon and only like 65 in the game. Having to animate all the things is a good excuse, honestly.
Now the giant Pokemon gimmick? That's stupid. Everything else about the game looks great.
I don't think this game is selling well
This game was underrated.
@Xansies I would say that would be a good excuse if the animations were actually good. Considering the animations put into games including enemies like xenoblade and persona 5 are setting the standard and compared to those two games Pokemon is really falling behind. Pokemon is several times bigger, more successful, and brings in wayyy more money than xenoblade and persona. For them to look last gen compared to those two games is pretty sad.
@Chunkboi79 I wouldn't go and say it's doomed. It still pretty popular and opening sales were great! That being said there aren't really many holiday Games for Nintendo this year I can't even think of one.
@Reigestugatensho Oh no it's not doomed. I know it will sell well. It's a pokemon game after all.
I am not going to get it, but not because of the drama behind pokemon sword and shield. Only cause pokemon, for me, is kind of stale honestly. I personally wish they would reinvigorate the franchise. Mario, fire emblem, and Zelda did exactly that and it worked wonders. Pokemon though is still serving the same wheat toast they were selling 30 years ago.
@Chunkboi79 I can sympathize with you on that one. Pokemon, in general, hasn't really changed simply because they want to cater to the fans, nothing really wrong with that. I'll probably get the game. However, I will admit I wasn't as excited for this game as with others in the past (I don't know in particular why). I felt Pokemon Sun and Moon's change of pace was fantastic and I hope Sword and Shield follows up on the success of those two games!
@Reigestugatensho Honestly, it would be really nice if the games introduced some missions or actual stakes. I was telling one of my friends that it would be cool to see team rocket actually steal your strongest pokemon and you have to go rescue them. Pokemon is Nintendo's call of duty, it's a cash cow that's milked every year. They really don't have a reason to reinvigorate the franchise, so i will speak my piece by not buying the games until they do.
@Chunkboi79 there's no point in holding out. If you wanna buy the game just get it then. Although, I understand your point of view. I really did feel that Sun/Moon did reinvigorate the franchise but that might just be me...
@Reigestugatensho that's the thing tho. I don't want the game. I'm just bored with the Pokemon formula. I'm not knocking the quality of the games by any means. I just want something innovative
@Chunkboi79 Have you tried the Pokemon side games (i.e. Mystery Dungeon, Battle Trozei, Coliseum, Ranger Series) I feel like youd like those. They all take a different approach to the genre.
@Reigestugatensho No I haven't never really thought about them to be honest. Maybe I'll give one a shot!
