Re: Overwatch 2 Reaches 25 Million Players In The First 10 Days

@Greatluigi Ah, I play gacha games too. I had accounts that could probably be sold for a good bit, and I did it completely for free. But in Overwatch 2, it takes about 30 hours to unlock the character they added unless you pay. That's a ton of time, especially since it doesn't have an auto play feature or anything. Not to mention the queue times are supposedly not great.
I'm hit or miss on mobile stories, I usually play premium games if I'm looking for story when on my mobile device. Feel free to recommend something if you'd like. I remember Overwatch having a pretty nice story overall, nothing complicated, but it's all out of game stuff. Like videos you watch on YouTube, just for the context. I'm not sure if you'd like the game more getting the context first, or just jumping straight in. But for me, catching back up with it doesn't seem worthful if imma need to pay for whoever the heck they add. End of the day though, there isn't much like PW out there, maybe TF2? But that's getting older and older. So if you're looking for a class based shooter, this is probably it.

@Greatluigi It kinda depends. What aspect of mobile games do you enjoy? Like sure, Overwatch 2 is probably going to be frequently updated, but on the other hand, it looks like a good degree of that will be locked behind a pay wall. So whether you get tired or not probably depends on whether or not you find the game frustrating mechanically, which I've heard some interesting takes on that. You've never played the first Overwatch though, and frankly, it was glorious. So maybe you'll be fine with this one.

@Greatluigi On one side, I'm sure the game is fun to some degree. On the other, I believe it will go down hill quickly as players are locked out of more characters, and there isn't a very good incentivized progression system. It might not really be worth the try, if there's a good chance you'll get sick of it quickly. But uh, hey I mean, maybe if you have nothing better to do?

Re: Review: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 - An RPG Classic That Time Hasn't Been Too Kind To

These games are underrated, a real shame. Expecting online is a bit weird too considering it's basically a glorified port. The real crime is the price tag. No game with such little difference from the original version should cost $30. So I understand a bit on that merit. I mean if you're going to charge so much, why not add online?

Also, the builds in Dark Alliance weren't necessarily advanced, but they play off each other in co-op depending on the characters picked, which is the way it's intended. Beyond that, the gripe about potions is a bit nitpicky. It's really not that hard or even inconveniencing to press a button a few extra times, just make sure you're stocked.

To anyone either on the fence or surprised by this review for any reason, know that this game and its predecessor are worth a go, just not at this price.

Re: Random: Logan Paul Made A Table Out Of Game Boys, And The Internet Isn't Happy

People saying he can do what he likes with them because he paid for them. Yes, true. However, any rich person could take this logic, by most of a rare thing, then destroy all of them. Maybe this would be fine to you, but yes, there is a finite number of objects in this world, and those fifteen are gone for temporary internet buzz.
It sucks, I'm not gonna start a crusade over it, but others have a right to be bothered just as much as he had an unfortunate result to ruin those Gameboys.

@FredsBodyDouble Judging by my experience with the original, old enough to read. Unless you could be there and read some of the dialogue to them. I'm sure after one run through even if they can't read, they could probably recall enough to go through again. It's also worth noting that this is something they could go back to years later. (Source: I was 4 when I played the original.)

Re: Samsung To "Aggressively Position" OLED Tech In Console Gaming Space

@RasandeRose Ah, well I was just sharing my experience because my phone did in fact burn in, and I only really used it to text + occasionally play Reigns. Must've been bad luck, I kept it at half brightness and didn't let it sit out or anything.

At the end of the day though, what's important to me is...If I use the Switch pro to play games that have black bars 4:3 or so, will it eventually get the reverse burn in? (I'm sure it isn't called that.) Because I have heard that you can tire out the pixels that are being used, while the bars are turned off, so they'll be noticeably more vivid.

Re: Samsung To "Aggressively Position" OLED Tech Across Promising Market Sectors Including "Gaming Console Segments"

@RasandeRose You said "Ive got both Samsung 2017 phone with AMOLED and a philips 2017 TV with LG OLED Panel, not even a hint of burn-ins on either one. Its a non-issue these days." to show that it's a non issue in modern times.

You then said that Samsung made bad OLED back in 2017, as my comment said "However, my Samsung phone from around the same time as yours." So you refuted your initial statement I was replying to.

If your point is that they're improved at this time (Four years later.) Then we have no qualms here, I have no experience with recently released OLED, but I suspect that this case is a misunderstanding.

Re: Samsung To "Aggressively Position" OLED Tech Across Promising Market Sectors Including "Gaming Console Segments"

@RasandeRose Hey, I want to believe in what you're saying, because OLED is beautiful. I have a Vita, but I'm required to baby it because the burn in problem was really bad back then.

However, my Samsung phone from around the same time as yours got burn in after two years of very light use. It kind of scared me off the technology, especially if I'll be playing anything with black bars on the side for awhile on Switch.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Switch Plan is Starting to Take Shape

@dres Well there's going to be patches and DLC for starters, and said motion controls make the controller cost more, even PS4 and Xone have some form of sensor for motion in their controllers.
.
I do appreciate the concept of cartridges, but not when there's only one save slot. Here's the kicker, back when memory cards were common place you could just buy more to have multiple saves for way cheaper than a game, or if your friend borrowed a game with one save slot there'd be no issue because he would have his own memory card.

@Yorumi Thanks for being the voice of reason in this comments section.

I swear you hear so many people get aggravated by others who complain about the Switch, there's probably more hyped up fans complaining about those who complain than disappointed fans to begin with.

I personally grew up with every console, I have no allegience to any of these corporations, but I still enjoy the exclusives their competition produces.
However the online service component, the advent of digital storage and motion controls makes me miss the era before the Wii/PS3/360. It was simpler when you just stuck your memcard, disc, and moderately priced controller in and played.
