how much are the wayforward games? hard to do a voting poll if you dont evenly let us know the discounts.. like if shantae was 1 dollar, im sure everyone would pick it up.
@MC808 yeah i get that too. but whether or not these are available on the n store, i get this gut feeling that last year, they announced the NEW 3DS and this year they will announce the NEW Wii U. anybody else fell that way?
@MC808 yeah i get that too. but whether or not these are available on the n store, i get this gut feeling that last year, they announced the NEW 3DS and this year they will announce the NEW Wii U. anybody else fell that way?
@Zombie_Barioth Im sort of leaning towards your theory that they need to get rid of excess inventory before the summer.. where i believe they will reveal The NEW Wii U to match the branding of The NEW 3DS. with more features.. but still compatible. its more like a 1.5 update of the system rather than a full 2.0
so 225+17(tax)+5(shipping) = 250ish for a used machine and who knows if it really includes club nintendo.
299.99 is for the new one so for about 50 bucks more, you get a brand new machine from b&h
BTW, anybody get this feeling that nintendo is trying to get rid of their inventory so that they can cash in on it before this summer? i really have this bad feeling about summer being the time they reveal The NEW Wii U. which will have many better features but still be a wii u but just have more features..
@Sonicman I watched an unboxing video for refurbished bundle and they included club Nintendo codes. Also... They don't have tax free/free shipping so in the end... Is it really worth it? B&h photo has it 299.99 no tax free shipping. Let's do the math... And brand new.
@rjejr
yeah, so i think the 10+10 will hopefully pay off for people who invest in this game not from the 80 levels that ship with it but... the community that could potentially get involved because its not tied to one console. also.. it costs money to upkeep online stuff and this game seems to be more involved. where you are doing some sort of tipping stars to each other. i am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a great value but in the end, you may be right.
if it was 10 dollars, i can see how online and long term support might be difficult. but it would be nice if amiibo's could unlock things..
BTW on a different topic related to the game, did anybody notice on the official site, that there is this GOLDEN MARIO that you can unlock.. what if the Walmart Gold Mario could unlock that gold mario... as well as grinding..
@Nintendude789 there have been 4 or 5 games and only 2 of them were 10 bucks or so. 3 of them were full priced nintendo games 29.99 list price.
i think the 10 price was aimed at the digital download only games. that they didnt do too much developement on. but this game, since its cross buy between wii u and 3ds..as well as sharing between systems, they are sort of pioneering a new thing that nobody has ever done before.. i can definitely see the 20 dollar price tag as being a very fair price point.
if it was a 3ds eshop only game and there was no effort of changing much from prior iterations, then yeah 10 bucks.. but this game lets the community share levels and play levels between device and console. isnt that worth something?
you guys need to have a comparison chart of the differences between previous mvsdk's. for example, the first one on the gba was a straight platformer like donkey kong where you control mario with the d pad and collect keys to open doors through puzzle filled rooms. mvsdk2 jumped over to the touch screen which meant you use your stylus to control the direction of the mini's and tap them to stop them and swipe up to make them jump. this was actually my favorite iteration.. after mvsdk2, the removed the ability to control the mini. this lost me. and i believe this new one is still the more lemmings approach.
what has me interested is the cross buy and level sharing community that is encouraged with tipping stars.
talk about friend codes and how they incorporate online. thats pretty important seeing they have always had that 16 digit hurdle in the past.
tipping stars.. is there an official way to trade friend codes?
btw its 9:43pm here and its still says "coming soon" in the eshop.. when will it be for sale?
i remember scouring craigslist for people who would accidentally post a photo of their 3ds or wii u for sale and they take a photo of their club nintendo codes.. usually illegible.. but 2 of them were high resolution!!! not worth the time btw. 3 weeks searching for 1 code.. haha.. but no more of that!
Ryno This is possibly on my list that gets me to get a wii u... honestly!!! alongside with mario maker. im so excited.. but im also curious what the play mechanics are for this game.
i should have been the first to reply to this thread.. i was the crazy mario vs dk 2 march of the mini's player back in the day.. go here to see what type of levels that game made.. so many glitches too. https://www.youtube.com/user/mrmushroomer/videos
this level is my attempt in recreating the minus world access at the end of level 1-2 in smb.
but then as they made more iterations of the game, the user had less and less control over the game.. eitherway, im totally glad for this cross buy option which begs to question:
Can Mario Maker eventually head over to 3DS? I truely do not see a reason why not.. people may point out that its CPU intensive but, i throw out the option to scale back with real time editing if that is the reason we can't have it on 3ds. just give us a mario maker on the go!!!! with cross buy!! why not.
guys guys guys.. i think i understand why they put those 2 particular games alongside the system. my prediction is that those 2 games will be the first 2 games that take advantage of the c stick control mechanism. but to also be backwards compatible, you will have the option of controlling the camera with possibly the bottom touch screen etc. but not only will it be released on the same day, those 2 games will be the only 2 games that utilize the c stick.
anybody else agree?
also, i wish they would just bring that fun white model with colorful button options.. COME ON.. im sick of their perception of us consumers . keep it simple and clean. i hate it when they do this.
not 8 / 10 especially comparing this game to the first one.. missing all the elements that i loved like create your own team.. anyways, thats my comment 7 5 years after previous post. haha..
bleh. this review is skewed.. i bought it liked it but its not that memorable. its not that tight.. i dont hum the music like i do Mega Man. and definitely do not feel like its as long a game as mario for example. the map is covered by clouds and you reveal like 10 worlds? thats it? i guess im just saying we should weigh that into the score. say something like, for 10 bucks you get 10 bucks worth of gameplay. dont expect 50 dollor mario length. honestly when i beat the game, i thought i beat world 1. and i was hoping for 7 more... in my mind.. platformers are easier to design so only having 1 lava level just seems like a waste.. i would rather them put together like 4 lava levels scattered through out the map..
also.. there is nothing really original here.. they just do a good job stealing ideas from other games. mario 3's map, zelda 2's downthrust, megamans platforming, and a not so much memorable melodic soundtrack. ask me to whistle all levels of megaman..
sorry guys.. im just playing devils advocate. i know.. many will hate what i have to say but 9/10!!!!? i would say 8 at most which is still good but 9 and 10 should be reserved for games that will keep you busy as well.
one more things.. there's a leve where a green thing drops down and you can hit it to move it or use it to bounce high.. it ALWAYS drips from a green thing above it.. but i found this hidden treasure chest area under and went down and got it.. and the only way out is to be able to hit a green thing onto the lava .. so inside that nook where the chest was, there is this green thing dripping from thin air. this is 1 and maybe the only example of something that a mario or 9/10 game would not have. that and other parts made it feel a bit amateurish in level design. and having the top right area harder to reach so you can access the secret areas got old quick. so predictable after you do it a few times.
and have like 40 different themed tables. ok ok.. maybe not 40 but
Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, to start with?
btw, is this Mario Pinball Land or Super Mario Ball? or are they the same thing? cause if it is the same thing...
I HATED THIS GAME.. this game is more like 5/10 because of the horrid physics. you can't predict where the ball will go. try over and over until you get through an opening.. so frustrating.
i played this when i was a kid and defeated it. it was hard.. it was fun. and the music is awesome.. i still remember the ice level music.. i can hum it in my head but for those who want to hear it here.. here's the clip..
wait til the dude gets in the car and jumps through the door for the ice level music
i think i was the 1% who played zelda II during my vulnerable time.. every part of that game including Nintendo Power coverage .. i absorbed into me. also represents the final GOLDEN cartridge.
part of me feels like some of these PROJECTS.. will fall into the PROJECT HAMMER bucket... and never see the day of light.. Project Giant Robot Project S.T.E.A.M. any thoughts?
