Re: New Standard Nintendo Switch Revision Offers Significantly Improved Battery Life

mousieone

Correct me if I’m wrong but the Mariko is better at power consumption than Logan. The Switch currently is underclocked and whilst there is a boost mode most games don’t use it. In theory, Mariko could use it just fine without the drain and heat issues. Mariko might even handle that as a norm and a higher speed as a boost? I guess what I’m getting at is when the market is more saturated with Switches with the Mariko chip they could turn on another boost mode for those Switches and they’d get better performance ? Or am I’m complete in left field ?

Re: Guide: Pokémon Sword And Shield: All Version-Exclusive Pokémon And Gym Leaders

@companyoflosers hardly as @darkswabber and I have been talking about other games featured entirely different locations(BW,BW2), different Bosses (RSE, ORAS) and different aesthetics (S/M, USUM) actually Last gen was actually the most annoying with the character customization options ...

Edit: I forgot to mention gen 7 also has time difference between versions. So when is day in Sun it’s night in moon.

@darkswabber Umm no most of the games have big differences, Ruby/Sapphire (ORAS) had a completely different enemy team and boss battles. S/M USUM has different stalls which impacts you ability to buy certain items from the stalls like rare kitchen levels etc. Also dye colors for clothes were version locked. There is a trainer than can’t be fought a second time too if I remember.

Re: Earn Exclusive Skins And Gear In Mortal Kombat 11's Brand New Seasonal Mode

mousieone

@whanvee we are.

What happened was the trailer for Shang Tsung gameplay said early access is included in the Kombat Pack for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Some Reddit users spotted that in the trailer and assumed Switch wasn’t included. However, if you play MK 11 it clearly says on the Kombat Store early access on the Switch. sighs keep in mind people thought Switch wasn’t getting the premium version as well.

Re: Microsoft Details Xbox E3 Schedule, Lists Nintendo Direct As A Place You "Need To Be"

I think it mostly was professional courtesy on Microsoft’s part. Which all three do frequently. However, if there is something there it could be either be something with Minecraft dungeons or “Forza Street”, which isn’t the full game but would still be an MS branded franchise on a Nintendo system.

Either way Microsoft is not ready to reveal details on xCloud (which is how I think they’d bring game pass to Switch). I feel they would do in a press conference closer to October, and Nintendo doesn’t like stuff like announced too long before it’s ready. That’s assuming Nintendo lets them do it at all.

@sixrings I don’t know if you are aware but PSO2 is on the Switch in Japan. It’s cloud streamed. Not that I think it’s coming just that it’s already a thing.

Re: FIFA 20 On Switch Will Be A Scaled-Back "Legacy Edition"

mousieone

@MasterHiggins stadia will be huge o.o

All joking aside Stadia is a PC running the game, so they aren’t really porting a new version over. And it’s not even a previous gen vs current gen issue. As I understand (which I could be wrong)their internal engine and Switch don’t work together, and they aren’t inclined to try anything else. For the most part the games they have brought over either use a different engine or are heavily modified. If FIFA was built in Unreal 4, I believe it would be a different story. Or at least more of an effort to try, but when your base isn’t compatible...

It’s unfortunate, but the reality of EA.

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

mousieone

@Trajan Umm no. And your logic doesn’t work, here I’ll show you-

Square-Enix released Octopath Traveler and Lost Sphere in 2018. Octopath Traveler sold, Lost Sphere not so much. But, by your logic, both should have sold because it was a dry year.

Octopath Traveler plays heavy on the retro fans need. Games like Final Fantasy XV are more modern, but there a ton of fans (especially Japanese) that crave that old FF VI feel and look. SE didn’t even think it would sell in the west so Nintendo published proving retro fans are everywhere

I highly doubt any exclusive third party titles sell Switches- portability and Nintendo’s own IPs do that. Sony and MS might need exclusive third parties, but Nintendo nope. They’ve always just done their own thing.

I’m not going to fault a company for needing to get more platforms for a failing game. I’d rather see a smaller company survive then die. I hope this means NMH3 is more likely.
