Re: Xbox Boss Doesn't See Nintendo As A "Main Competitor" In The Next-Gen War

@User199x Lucky you. You can’t buys CDs at any mall I’ve been to recently, and those are dying as well. (People drive thru grocery shop now ..: ) My car doesn’t even have a CD player in it for example and it’s a 2015. I know CDs exist but barely. Have you seen an 8 track lately?

Where Books and Records have made a comeback in recent years due to offering unique experiences CDs/DVDs are virtually dead. (DVDs not Blu-rays)

It’s nice that someone still writes but judging for the complaints from the postal community, you are slowly becoming the last.

@Heavyarms55 yeah that’s why I import ._. Been doing that for a long time. The funny thing is Records are actually making a comeback, and usually have goodies like that <.<

But it is strange time when Records have a larger footprint than a CD in a box store.

Re: Xbox Boss Doesn't See Nintendo As A "Main Competitor" In The Next-Gen War

mousieone

@AnotherGoblin Pretty sure they already confirmed the cloud for that but my memory could be fuzzy.

@User199x do CDs really co-exist? When’s the last time you’ve been to a major box store. In fact If I recall correctly Best But phased them out of the physical stores.

Books are a slightly different story because of the physical low tech experience it provides.

Let me ask you something.

When’s the last time you’ve actually physical wrote a letter to someone?
How many kids use cursive?

Re: Xbox Boss Doesn't See Nintendo As A "Main Competitor" In The Next-Gen War

@gloom it’s called the long game. And Gamepass is basically the Netflix’s for games. That’s what MS is after not the hardware that they have to sell at a lost anyway. Nintendo is the only company that makes money on that.

@JasmineDragon claps

Do I think streaming is the future ? Yes Netflix won. There isn’t a doubt about it.

Is it tomorrow ? No.

Do I like it? No but it’s not for me.

Most of Us isn’t what this is about. Just like last time I checked xCloud is in Beta not Alpha and the series X is coming. The infrastructure isn’t there yet, and people are clouding their viewpoints with what is going on in their lives not what their kids lives will look like.

20 years ago my laptop weighed pounds and had a 3 gig hard drive. Today my cellphone weighs ounces and has 256g hard drive. That’s what this is about.

Re: Switch Will Have A Longer Life Cycle Than Previous Consoles, Says Nintendo President

mousieone

Don’t get me wrong I don’t like to replace things, and I think Switch doesn’t need to compete with the other guys. But at some point people are going to want more from just Nintendo games than what they are now. Handheld tech evolves faster than it did in the past. You can’t limit your mindset like that. I don’t think it’s a death of Nintendo. However, with this logic, our phones are going to play better games.

Re: Pokémon Home Details Revealed: Free And Premium Plans, National Pokédex And More

mousieone

@Grumblevolcano actually this is the only thing about home that makes sense. The reason for the mobile GTS is because of trade servers. Right now you can’t use GTS with Gen 4/5 because they killed those servers. Not to mention gens 6 and 7 each have their own unique servers. If they move the trade servers to one centralized location all games going forward will continue to have GTS access.

Now everything else meh, but that move makes sense.

Re: Talking Point: Why Pokémon Sword & Shield's Expansion Pass Changes The Rules For The Series

mousieone

Ultra SUMO wasn’t a sequels but a third game entry divided twice. There is an important distinction.

The only sequel game was Black 2 White 2. Which was unique. Meaning that XY, BW, B2W2 are complete packages as is.

That needs to said because to get the entire “Sun/Moon experience” would be the four games and that would cost you 160.00 plus the hours needed to completely four games.

The cost is almost the same as SWSH, why people act like SWSH is more expense is beyond me. The cool things they are doing is you don’t need complete four games and if you don’t buy the expansion you can still trade in the Pokémon. Which in the past when there was a new Pokémon like New Ultra Beast you were SOL.

Honestly people really need to look back at the games history before complaining about one entry which isn’t even the worst issue.

I mean Sun/Moon was incompletely Mina didn’t even have her captains quest. Entire islands had little to no content. Weak postgame. To Single out SwSh when this is status quo is silly.

Also does anyone remember that before they made it compatible the Pokebank was locked for the first four months of the new games meaning you couldn’t trade old Pokémon and weee stuck using the in game ones only.

Re: Square Enix Delays The Release Of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition

mousieone

I for one couldn’t be happier because there is too much anyway- I need to get caught up. I think a lot of these delays are better positioning. There are several games due out beginning of next year that would overlap the fanbase as well as some that just released. The big KH 3 DLC drops Jan/Feb, Star Ocean just released, Pokémon, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and Trails of Mana Remake. Now this gives me some breathing room

Re: Nintendo Switch Looks Set To End PS4's Five-Year Reign In The UK

mousieone

@Mr_Pepperami there are plenty of reasons to buy those consoles though. Thing is the new ones console wont be out for a full year, and there are several pretty big titles for the XBox and PS4. Cyberpunk, FFVIIR, and Last of Us. Then there is a gap year where you get stuff for both. Plus Gamepass gets a lot of new titles cycling through.

Re: There Are "No Plans" To Bring The Full Pokédex To Pokémon Sword And Shield, And Future Games Will Follow Suit

mousieone

I’m really sick of people who haven’t been playing the games for years telling the rest of us who have, how we should and shouldn’t feel. Sorry you don’t get come in last minute and me that I should be okay with the fact that I probably won’t get to play with Snivy and Oshawott until a potential Gen 5 remake in 2024. Or better yet Feraligator in 2030. No you don’t get to do that at all.

Re: Switch Lite Is "Generating Its Own Demand, Without Negatively Impacting" The Original System

mousieone

@Nego Seriously!? The point is that if PlayStation also sees a future in the more attuned rumble then more devs are going to design for it period. Like analogue triggers, the Switch joycons don’t use them but that’s doesn’t stop games for being designed with them.

On a far more literal note, you can use DualShock 4s with an adapter with the Switch. I assume 5s would be the same.

Re: Nintendo Apologises For Tokyo Mirage Sessions Censorship Misinformation, Offers Refunds

mousieone

Heres the thing I don’t understand is that given the subject matter it sells best in Japan. Why even bother releasing this in the West?

I mean it’s not like westerns can’t get the Japanese eshop version if someone wants to play it.

But they forced the version without the Japanese Subtext (I’m not even talking censorship, I mean cultural stuff) on the Japanese. It makes the game senseless for them?

Re: Hold On Tight As Digital Foundry Tries To Nail Down Zelda: Link's Awakening's Performance Hiccups

mousieone

@Dang69 that’s not at all what they came to the conclusion because he overclocked the CPU and they made no dent. However, when he upped the GPU only it made a difference. Ergo GPU is doing something for the CPU 12:25 in the DF video.

All People notice significant drops, but not everyone is going to notice a small one. Hence why some people are it’s no big deal. It’s just we all have different levels

Re: Hold On Tight As Digital Foundry Tries To Nail Down Zelda: Link's Awakening's Performance Hiccups

mousieone

@chipperkwah No actually. A good chunk of people can’t tell the difference between 30 and 60, which is normal BTW. They might notice a longer drop, but a momentary one not so much. On the other hand, you and many others are using an upper limit of your vision, so it’s very jarring.

I notice it in the swamp and around water because I instantly get motion sickness and get a headache. That’s where my ability taps out and don’t notice the rest as much. It really does depend on your vision.

Re: Ittle Dew 2 Removed From Switch eShop Against Developer's Wishes

mousieone

@Anti-Matter @somebread which would be fine in the case of bigger titles but indies would never find their way onto the Switch if it wasn’t for digital. Hollow Knight couldn’t do a physical initially. And even if the indie title could find someone to print physically who is going to stock it? Stores have limited physical space; they are going to want it for their bigger known games. Not to mention developers make a lot less on a physical copy because cart cost and The “middle man”. The fact is the best way to support and indie dev is digital not physical.

Again I understand about physical I get it but indie titles are a completely different than even a AA title. It’s be nice tho don’t get me wrong.

Re: Review: GRID Autosport - Finally, Switch Gets The Serious Racing Game It Deserves

mousieone

The sheer amount of energy Feral put into the port should be applauded not ignored. They built in three modes, one of which is a battery save option. They added a high res texture pack for free at launch. And GameCube support, full support, not just works with. The game actually registers when you switch on the fly to a GameCube over the pro.

No I’m not going to complain about feature that’s coming.
