Re: Nintendo's Norwegian Site Triggers Speculation That Bayonetta 3 And Metroid Prime 4 Could Launch This Year

would it be really that hard for a professional website to seek out someone who can translate from Norwegian before posting this based on google translate? just so unprofessional.
western websites post machine translations of japanese information all the time. really? are people not talking to each other at all? there are millions of people who speak any one language (and billions in the case of chinese). they can't ask one of them to translate? we're not talking about long lost languages here that no one or only scholars can speak anymore.
this is like the Chinese family who just arrived in the US and opens a restaurant and can't ask a single English speaking American to check their menu for mistakes..

Re: CPU Exploits Meltdown And Spectre Could Potentially Affect Nintendo Switch

@WillTheLion multiple groups found these exploits independently of each other. so there's reason to believe that people with malicious intent also already found them and may or may not have been using them already. so your statement "computers have been fine for over 10 years" is not accurate. no one knows if anyone has used these exploits already.

I just hope the fixes don't lead to any performance hits on consoles. 30/60 fps locked games on consoles are firmly tuned to the exact console spec and ANY decrease in available performance would probably destroy the lock for many games which would then all needed to be patched.

Re: Gaming Addiction Is Officially A Disorder, According To The World Health Organisation

why do they need to "certify" specific addictions? people can get addicted to literally anything and the symptoms are always the same for every type of addiction. it's just that some people are more susceptible to addictions than others. and those that are also like to jump between different addictions where a new addiction just replaces the old addiction. (for example a drug addict might switch to alcohol or a gaming addict to porn)

@JaxonH the engine a game is based on has a lot to do with how good a port CAN be. i guess we'll see. the vita version of DQB was pretty bad however (almost no draw distance, low resolution, no details, but still lagging when rotating the camera. also it looked like it somehow had a very reduced color palette..you know, like when you set your PC to run at 256 colors..it looked really strange)..add to that SE's reluctancy to support cross-buy on PSN (with the most recent example being romancing saga 2 which you would have to buy twice to play on vita and ps4, and it was the same for DQB and WoFF))
