I was about to buy Patrick on itch.io, since it's on sale and gives you a Steam key, but I thought I'd search to see if there was new about it coming to Switch. Hooray!
@jorel262 Companies are getting into NFTs because their shareholders are demanding that they do so, and in general companies are doing this because it's cheap and quick to mint NFTs, for the potential for a huge financial return. Companies just need to weigh the damage to their brand of making NFTs vs the potential financial rewards they can pull in if they hit it big.
@Yosher Mario Kart Tour is a "live" free-to-play game. They can't hold back their game continuing to develop it for aging, old hardware. Most people, especially people in the Android ecosystem, are upgrading to a new phone every year or two. The devs of this game most likely looked at the tiny sliver of of the pie of people playing the game on the old hardware and decided to cut them out, so that the vast majority of the people playing the game will continue to play it. The developers or Nintendo aren't trying to sell any new phones by doing this, they're just trying to make a better experience for the majority of the players that are playing on modern hardware.
@Yosher The Switch and Switch OLED have the same CPU and RAM. You can't expect a free game to support 1,000s of different manufacturer SKUs of Android phones. The risk of buying a low-end phone means you'll be left in the dust with app support.
"Staggering $2,150"... that's actually very cheap in the watch world, though this is an Android watch, so you'll be throwing it away in a couple years.
Honestly, my main reason for buying an Xbox Series X was so I could play Rare Replay again. I sold my original Xbox One several years back, with the silly hope that Microsoft would port more XBO games to PC.
@DoktorTotenKopf You obviously were never a member of his message boards over the past 20 years to be able to say you "highly doubt he's guilty of such behaviors." And how does this have anything to do with the American judicial system?
@Entrr_username People are feeling comfortable enough to speak up about their abusers. Those abusers stayed hidden for so long because the victims felt like no one would believe them for speaking out.
100 femme-presenting persons have stepped forward, with 30+ written testimonies published online. Additionally, Ellis has basically admitted to having done it, though claiming he didn’t realize that he was being a scumbag in his non-apology. What the hell more do you people need to believe the words of the victims?
As far as I’ve seen, Ellis has been pulling himself off these projects, not being fired/released. I’m hoping he’s taking the time to seek help, and to cut himself off from temptation to continue to prey on colleagues/fans.
@Moon I have a much better experience playing on Stadia than my gaming PC or PS4 Pro, which is why I use the service. Streaming is the way of the future, and Google is in it for the long haul. See above comment for further elaboration.
I know that public opinion on Stadia is sour, usually without having 1st hand experience themselves, so that's why I try to mention it anywhere I can (just so folks see there are people that have a positive experience with Stadia).
If the Switch had a better internal WiFi antenna, Stadia would be great for it. Heck, it would probably be fine as-is to stream 720p to handheld mode, since Nintendo/Capcom/Ubisoft is already experimenting with gaming streaming in Japan on Switch.
@shazbot Pretty sure Stadia is in a lot more countries than just the US, definitely many countries in Europe.
As for why, Stadia runs on much higher-end hardware, so graphics are great (unless the developer screws up the porting to Stadia), and is definitely the best of all the current streaming services that I've tried. I hate having to own expensive hardware that take up space in my house and has loud fans. With Stadia I can play on any device I want anywhere in my house, and it runs great on my home network that it feels like the game is installed locally.
I'll be buying the game on Stadia, but glad they're bringing this to Switch too. I never did pick up RoA2 on Switch when it was on heavy discounts, so uncertain how well it ran.
@benjamouth Happens every single week. For some reason the Nintendo PR that is posted every Thursday always lists the previous week's Hamster Arcade Archives releases.
Scrolling though this guide makes me think I really should just buy a modded GBA off eBay or Etsy! (no complaints about the guide, it looks great and highly detailed....just too much work for me to take on myself)
@BulkSlash You can play the Japanese versions of all the NES and SNES games. Just create a Japanese account and log into the eShop with it, you can download the NES and SNES apps for free there. Then when you launch them, sign in with your main account that has Nintendo Online subscription.
Sorry to hear about the performance compared to the PC version. Hopefully they can tweak it to make the game running better, as I dreamed it would come to Switch back when I bought the game the day it hit Early Access on Steam.
@Ryu_Niiyama Entirely a guess on my part, but it looks like the eShop version of this collection is a 1-time purchase, you can't buy the two games separately. So based on that, my educated guess would be that you'd need the cartridge in the Switch to play Rogue. If they were broken out as separate games on the eShop (like Bayonetta 1 & 2), my guess would have been that it might be possible to play Rogue without the cart.
Warren Ellis (writer of the series) already mentioned in his weekly newsletter this past Sunday that release date is still entirely up in the air, sometime in 2020. He also said they were finishing the last episode, and would hand them off to Netflix when finished, at which point it would be Netflix's call as to when they'd release Season 3.
Been wanting to play Obra Dinn since it was released on PC, but was patiently hoping that it would come to Switch. Now to wait to make sure that performance is ok.
FYI, instead of creating separate Nintendo accounts for different regions, you can easily change your primary account's region. The only stipulation is you cannot have an eShop balance when you make the region change.
I was really hoping they'd put those (especially the limited edition games) on the Japanese eShop. Obviously my biggest hope was that they'd put it on the American eShop, but at least I can somewhat easily buy the collection now without resorting to buying a nasty physical edition.
@Morpheel Yes it is, but not by much. Going by the current conversion rate on the market, 189 pesos is $9.82. I tend to find that Mexico has the best prices, but it usually ends up being about what this is, saving you a few cents at the most compared to United States eShop.
@UmbreonsPapa Same for my Detective Pikachu audience. The Sonic trailer got the most positive reactions out of all the trailers shown. I would estimate that the horrible-looking Angry Birds 2 trailer got the 2nd most positive reactions.
Oh god I hope this is a long-term partnership between M2 and Cave releasing their entire STG back-catalog. The absolutely only reason I still have my Xbox 360 is for some of the imported Cave games that weren’t released on Steam.

Puzzling why the Nintendo press release didn't include Princess Farmer coming out today, which it did so on almost every platform including Switch.
