Re: Konami Is 'Celebrating' Castlevania's 35th With An NFT Auction

madmatt213

@jorel262 Companies are getting into NFTs because their shareholders are demanding that they do so, and in general companies are doing this because it's cheap and quick to mint NFTs, for the potential for a huge financial return. Companies just need to weigh the damage to their brand of making NFTs vs the potential financial rewards they can pull in if they hit it big.

Re: Mario Kart Tour's September Update Will Render Some Android Phones Incompatible

madmatt213

@Yosher Mario Kart Tour is a "live" free-to-play game. They can't hold back their game continuing to develop it for aging, old hardware. Most people, especially people in the Android ecosystem, are upgrading to a new phone every year or two. The devs of this game most likely looked at the tiny sliver of of the pie of people playing the game on the old hardware and decided to cut them out, so that the vast majority of the people playing the game will continue to play it. The developers or Nintendo aren't trying to sell any new phones by doing this, they're just trying to make a better experience for the majority of the players that are playing on modern hardware.

Re: Rumour: Warren Ellis Might Not Return To Netflix's Castlevania Beyond Series 4

There are some garage comments on here.

100 femme-presenting persons have stepped forward, with 30+ written testimonies published online. Additionally, Ellis has basically admitted to having done it, though claiming he didn’t realize that he was being a scumbag in his non-apology. What the hell more do you people need to believe the words of the victims?

As far as I’ve seen, Ellis has been pulling himself off these projects, not being fired/released. I’m hoping he’s taking the time to seek help, and to cut himself off from temptation to continue to prey on colleagues/fans.

Re: Whimsical Tower-Defence Game Rock Of Ages 3 Rolls Onto Switch Today

@Moon I have a much better experience playing on Stadia than my gaming PC or PS4 Pro, which is why I use the service. Streaming is the way of the future, and Google is in it for the long haul. See above comment for further elaboration.

I know that public opinion on Stadia is sour, usually without having 1st hand experience themselves, so that's why I try to mention it anywhere I can (just so folks see there are people that have a positive experience with Stadia).

If the Switch had a better internal WiFi antenna, Stadia would be great for it. Heck, it would probably be fine as-is to stream 720p to handheld mode, since Nintendo/Capcom/Ubisoft is already experimenting with gaming streaming in Japan on Switch.

@shazbot Pretty sure Stadia is in a lot more countries than just the US, definitely many countries in Europe.

As for why, Stadia runs on much higher-end hardware, so graphics are great (unless the developer screws up the porting to Stadia), and is definitely the best of all the current streaming services that I've tried. I hate having to own expensive hardware that take up space in my house and has loud fans. With Stadia I can play on any device I want anywhere in my house, and it runs great on my home network that it feels like the game is installed locally.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection - A Pair Of Brilliant Seafaring Adventures, And More Besides

madmatt213

@Ryu_Niiyama Entirely a guess on my part, but it looks like the eShop version of this collection is a 1-time purchase, you can't buy the two games separately. So based on that, my educated guess would be that you'd need the cartridge in the Switch to play Rogue. If they were broken out as separate games on the eShop (like Bayonetta 1 & 2), my guess would have been that it might be possible to play Rogue without the cart.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (North America)

@Morpheel Yes it is, but not by much. Going by the current conversion rate on the market, 189 pesos is $9.82. I tend to find that Mexico has the best prices, but it usually ends up being about what this is, saving you a few cents at the most compared to United States eShop.
