Re: First Impressions: Holding Court with Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

To the author of this article from a long time tennis player: The word "rally" should be used where you wrote "volley". "Volley" in tennis is simply defined as hitting the ball before it hits the ground. A "Rally" on the other hand is defined as two players hitting the ball back and forth...what happens during a single "point". People that don't play tennis use the words volley and rally interchangeably but they are NOT the same thing. Google the word volley if you don't believe me.

Very disappointing that it doesn't track anything besides experience and rank. I would like some more advanced stats such as #of splats, #times splatted, weapon stats, etc. etc.

Re: Poll: As the PS4 Arrives, What Do You Think of the 'New Gen' Environment for Wii U?

This may sound strange as a Nintendo fan, but it could be a good thing if the Wii U tanks. Why? Because it might be the only thing that wakes Nintendo up out of their customer-unfriendly, stubborn slumber. Give us a true VC lineup with Gamecube and more retro games, give us a true account system tied to purchases, and not the console...give us a system with more power and storage, give us more ONLINE play in games. It may take an epic failure for them to wake the heck up and start paying attention.

Re: The Super Mario 3D World Team Discusses Cat and Clone Origins, Multiplayer Dynamics and Its Name

It's hard to name a game I haven't played yet, but I do think Galaxy and Sunshine were very creative names that distinguished themselves from the field. For example, I think Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a GOOD name, but I wasn't a fan of Donkey Kong Country Returns as a game name. Something less generic. Mario Kart Double Dash was a great name which emphasized the use of the 2 characters...i think something similar to that name would work with this game because you can play with many different characters at once. Maybe something like "Super Mario & Friends Frenzy"...anything that emphasizes the use of the multiplayer.

Re: The Super Mario 3D World Team Discusses Cat and Clone Origins, Multiplayer Dynamics and Its Name

Still hate the name no matter the reasoning behind it. Mario 64 was a Mario 3D World...so was Sunshine....so were the Galaxies. It doesn't matter if they think it's the most creative name in the world, it's about public perception. If a casual gamer without previous knowledge sees this game, the name is not likely to draw their interest. The same goes for the Wii U name. It doesn't matter what Nintendo thinks about the name, it matters what the general public thinks....and we've all found out that much of the public doesn't know the difference between Wii U and Wii. Miyamoto probably named his children "Boy" and "New Baby Girl". Other creative names tossed around for this game were probably "New Super Mario World" or "Super Mario World Returns".

Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player

luke17

Wouldn't Mario 64 be considered a "3D World"? I really dislike the name of this game. Nintendo is horrible with naming its games.....for example: NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii, NEW Super Mario Bros. U, NEW Super Luigi U, Yoshi's NEW Island. Really???? In a few years these games will not be "new" anymore, and the name will be even more idiotic.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Specific Dates For Wii U Virtual Console Trial Campaign

Let me get this straight...if you already own these VC games on the Wii you can transfer them over with system transfer and play them on the Wii menu. But if you get games on the Wii U VC then that allows you to play them on the gamepad. Is that the only difference? Just wondering why you would even need to buy them again.
