Yoshi's Woolly World isn't far away in Europe, the second Good-Feel platformer to wrap its game world in soft, cuddly fabric. We think it should definitely be on your radar if you like chilled out platforming with an optional edge of difficulty to take on.
Its Japanese release is close too, and the video below therefore serves as a summary of its features, which most attentive fans will already know by this point. Nevertheless it has some lovely footage, and the final minute also show off amiibo functionality.
Are you planning to get this soon in Europe, or are you in North America and waiting for a final release date?

I plan to get this the day after it comes out at GAME.
I can't wait to see my Ness, Sheik and Wii Fit Trainer amiibo patterns.
Companies are aware that E3 is NEXT week right?
The woolly amiibo are very cute, but their implementation in game is very poor. Needing to see something that make amiibo properly worthwhile without locking content behind them that should really be included anyway or simply giving extra costumes or power-ups. Not sure what I want, but not wanting what there is. Game itself looks pretty decent. I love the use of the woolly texture.
Those sounds effects are horrid.
Will definitely get this. It's been a long time since Yoshi's Island which is one of my favourite games.
Getting it digitally as always. Expensive month with 7 amiibos coming out, this game, and Art Academy! Who knows there'll be "available after this presentation" games on E3!
@Trikeboy You are aware this launches in two weeks in Europe and shortly after that in Japan, right?
Fun looking game, I'm eager to play it. I just wish they'd drop those annoying Yoshi voice samples and bring back something more akin to the original Yoshi's Island sound effects that were not only much more expressive in my opinion, but much less grating on the ears.
Feel like I just played the whole game lol
This looks so much better than the last two Yoshi's Island games...
God, this game takes the cuteness to a whole new level. I'll keep my purchase decision until the reviews are up.
I'm so excited for this game! It looks really good.
Wooo June 29th will be EPIC!
Day 1 purchase for me (hopefully in a bundle with all three colored amiibos)!
Most adorable game ever, and I personally love the sound effects except for the aiming one. Never loved that and it's very repetitive of course.
My family loved Kirby's Epic Yarn so this is a no-brainer purchase and pretty great as an unofficial sequel. Yoshi fits this design a little better, too, I think.
Can't wait to use Amiibo with this. The yarn pattern is a great idea and these types of unlocks are probably my favorite implementation so far. As long as they keep them game specific like this. The yarn. In Mario Kart, the Mii suits some of which are pretty clever.
Only problem here is that it's another platform game. I do love the genre but I also like variety.
@A01 It looks like they're made of felt, if it's any consolation!
I really like the amiibo usage in this one, nothing spectavular but serves it purpose.
@Trikeboy I know it's starting too get really annoying.
Looks pretty cool. Looking forward to this one for a while now. See ya in "Fall" Woolly Yoshi! I know everyone makes smart remarks about any complaining about that here, but it is a bit frustrating.
@Tsurii Are you saying that I, a Scotsman living in South Korea, am not allowed to watch E3? Since when has E3 been solely for NA? Sounds like more elitist American crap to me. Everyone in the gaming industry, gamers and developers, turn their attention to E3, no matter what country they are from.
@scamander I'm well aware the game is out this month. I expect Amazon.co.uk to deliver my Yoshi amiibo pack on the 26th.
@Tsurii No, the announcements are for all gamers.
@A01 they're made if felt and it's because you can't eat and unravel them like the woollen enemies. Not everything is knitted though, there's a lot of stitched scenery and actually several other enemies in the embedded video that aren't knitted.
Japanese commercial. I will say KAWAIII
I hope NA can at least get a date at E3. Is that too much to ask Nitnedo, an actual date, not a quarter or season?
Got my hands full with Splatoon. Will wait awhile for this one.
Everytime I see this game I want to grab every pillow in my house, make a pile, jump and rub my face in it like some deranged kitten.
I might have to open some of my amiibo just so I can make Yoshi wear their flashy skins.
Ok that turned dark real quick. Anyway, my Wii U is already working overtime, Nintendo. Why are you doing this to me?! stahpkthnxpls

"Another platform game"
Let's count the 2D platformers. There's NSMBU, DKC Tropical Freeze, there's Rayman Legends, and I guess you could count Kirby Rainbow Curse, even though that's a different experience entirely and wouldn't really affect anyone getting platforming fatigue. In fact that was a refreshing departure.
So I'm counting 3 games, heck lets even say 4, in two and a half years. Most consoles are getting more than 4 of a genre every 3 months.
You say "another platform game" but I'm saying "Thank God we FINALLY get another platform game!" Especially when they are this good, and even more so considering third parties have all but abandoned the genre so the only place you can find them anymore is on this one console. Compare these 4 platformers in 2.5 yrs to the 33 open world, 29 FPS, 45 3rd person shooters, etc that we've seen in that same time span elsewhere, probably well more than that even.
@JaxonH also Super Mario 3d world, shovel knight, trine 2, guacamelee, pips adventure, steam world dig, Disney infinity 1.0 and 2.0, switch force, teslagrad, sonic lost world (I know you said 2D but I didn't. Even with 2D that's 7 you didn't mention)
I own 9 out of 11 of those in addition to the 3 you mentioned. Disney infinity is stretching a little (platforming is a huge part of it though). I agree Kirby is a departure so I didn't include it, but maybe I could include Lego City undercover. I guess it's not fair to include NES remix.
I love most of these games, just saying it is quite a bit. Wii U is definitely the console to have for platforming fans.
@aaronsullivan
If you're going to count indie games then there's thousands of every kind of genre though. And 3D platformers are a different experience, just like FPS and 3rd person shooters are different, and JRPG and SRPGs are different.
I'm a huge platforming fan, and my biggest complaint is that there aren't enough of them. The only one worth its salt on other consoles is Ori and the Blind Forest (it's REALLY good though). LBP3 was meh. But yeah the only ones I get to play every year are the ones Nintendo makes, which is only one or two per year on average, if that. But like you said it's definitely the console to have if you're a fan of platforming. I guess you can always resort to virtual console games if you have to
Splitting hairs, now and I'm not really arguing. Don't know if you had seen the parenthetical I added before you posted, but it doesn't matter much. I was just being goofy with that complaint. That's why I stuck my tongue out. The truth is I can't seem to get enough platformers and Yoshi's Woolly World looks phenomenal. I'm more concerned with how many I have that I haven't finished yet.
Why hasn't NintendoLife added the Japanese release date to the information?
I thought this game was gonna be more like a walk in the park platformer but after watching this there is way more variety and challenges than I was expecting ! I was going to grab this day one anyway but after seeing this now I can't wait for it even more
