Cruis’n Blast arrives on Switch this September, a fact which is sure to revive interest in the long-running series of arcade racing games.
The series began life in 1994 as an arcade title, which was then ported to the Nintendo 64 two years later. It was so commercially successful that two arcade sequels followed – Cruis'n World and Cruis'n Exotica – both of which were also ported to the N64. Cruis'n Velocity arrived on the GBA in 2001, followed by 2007's Cruis'n on Wii.
Speaking to us about the process of bringing Cruis’n Blast to Switch, Jarvis mentioned that he's mulling over the idea of remastering some of the older titles in the series, namely the three arcade games:
We’ve been tossing around some ideas – one thing I’ve been tossing around is to remaster the classic arcade Cruis’n trilogy especially for the Switch, up-resing the content to full HD and solid 60Hz frame rate!
If Cruis’n Blast is successful, then perhaps we could see this come to fruition? Or maybe Jarvis and his team at Raw Thrills will look to create an all-new entry in the series? Let us know if you'd be interested in seeing that happen by posting a comment below.

Dang... actual good ports of the original arcade games? That'd be amazing.
I would love such a release! The performance of the N64-ports is a little bit sluggish nowadays...
Still have memories playing Cruisn' USA on the 64. I didn't like it much but man did I play the crap out of it.
Down for this.
Yeap just give us a remastered collection of the original 3 arcade games for Switch and PC, those were quite fun at the time.
I'd rather have these.
Or switch online can just have N64 games.
I would buy the trilogy in a heartbeat! The first game was Cruis'n USA and it was very good, but the sequel Cruis'n World was even better, and easily one of the best racing games of its generation. I haven't played the third game Cruis'n Exotica but I want to!
I've read the comments here and I've only now found out that the N64 ports weren't optimal. I played the N64 ports of Cruis'n USA and Cruis'n World and thought they were great because I'd never played the arcade games.
I know most people played Cruis'n USA and not Cruis'n World, so let me reassure you that Cruis'n World is much better than Cruis'n USA. They improved the controls and the tracks. I know little about Cruis'n Exotica but have heard good things about it.
Why stop there? Remaster all the ‘90s arcade racers (some people will get that reference and weep anew) like all of Sega and Namco’s racers. Konami’s GTI Club would be great on the Switch too.
I need this ...now
I’d quite like to see this. The Arcade originals were fun but the N64 ports-especially USA-were really poor. I never really got the nostalgia for them. A full HD Remaster of the Arcade originals like Virtua Racing on Switch or Daytona on Xbox would be very welcome.
More Cruis'n?!!!
WELCOME!!! ^^
I will definitely trade money for this. Loved playing all 3 of them in arcades when I could and only ever got Cruisn USA for N64 which I still play every few months. Great games!
They will have my money if they do it, played USA and World so much on N64 as a kid.
Didn't know there was a third game back in the day and definitely would like to try that as well.
I can imagine nightdive altering its FPS tools to do this
That would be great. I never had the chance to play them back in their time.
love crusin usa the forest area was the most pain in the butt with those ridiculous turns trying to get ahead of the other cars.
I would love a Remaster of Crusin USA. I remember skipping classes in high school to play that game at a local arcade lol.
I hope he does it
Do it. DO IT DO IT DO IT! DO IT NOW
...Pretty please.
Why not use the code for the upcoming and creating a remaster instead of up Rez version?
I'd buy day 1 no questions asked
Yes please!
(No, I have nothing further to add, pop-up dialogue box)
I'd love to have this. Sure, the series is basically a poor man's OutRun 2, but I still really enjoy them and would pay for a good port!
A Cruisn Trilogy would be an instant buy for me.
Lol i was kinda addicted to this game back in the days.
Yes Please.
[cries in F-Zero]
I know it's not the same developer, but it just makes me wish the first 3 F-Zero games got to see the light of day remastered on Switch.
What are they waiting for?
Day one for sure!
Played a lot of USA and World back in the N64. But unfortunately these games haven't aged as well as other arcade racing games such as OutRun.
I remember playing Cruis'n USA at an arcade a couple times, and I also rented Exotica from Blockbuster. I would love to see these games brought back in some fashion!
@BloodNinja The first F-ZERO game has already been re-released on Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and Switch. If we could get three F-ZERO games on the Switch, they should be X, GX, and AX.
Yes please! I'd love to play a remastered Cruis'n Exotica.
For some reason I never played Cruis'n USA, it was always Cruis'n World and Cruis'n Exotica. I'd welcome these ports.
@KayFiOS Was AX that rare arcade release? I don't think I ever saw that one!
Oh wow. If the trilogy is remastered I would be all over that.
Bring it on, sounds great!!
Or Sega could maybe think about finally porting Outrun 2006 to modern consoles instead.
I'd buy this based purely on nostalgia.
@ATaco I have a similar story with crusin world. My older cousin used to play and they always needed a fourth and although I wasn’t particularly fond of it I put in hours upon hours.
@BloodNinja I saw it one time, in a 2 story McDonald's in Florida that had an arcade. I didn't play it, but just seeing one in the open was pretty cool!
@KayFiOS Nice. I see you survived Florida! Good job
I'm in day one if he could make this happen. Cruis'n was amazing in the arcade and equally great on console. So many great memories. I still have my N64 Cruis'n trilogy.
@RadioHedgeFund omg that would be soooo great to see Outrun 2006 on today’s consoles. Such a beautiful game!!
Omg A Crusin Trilogy would be absolutely incredible!! Love all 3 racers so that would be a day one as will Crusin Blast!!
Bring it on Eugene and IF you still have ANY ownership with Robotron 2084, then please gimme that too!! Tired of waiting on Warner Bros to do something with the Midway/Atari classics!!
This oughta be a good idea for Eugene Jarvis. I think it should be an Arcade/N64 remastering, because I sure would enjoy playing N64 games on my Nintendo Switch Lite, whenever I travel.
I'd be keen. My main memories of Cruisin' USA on N64 were the cardboard forest trees and the hot girl at the finish line. Or was it the start line? I never bothered with World and knew nothing about Exotica.
Id like cruis'n for the Wii ( the fast & the furious in arcades) & outrun 2006
Please do this thing.
That would be good for the oled 7 inch display that's fixing to come out yall should also remaster crusin world along with it imagine with different graphics how it is then and now? I heard nfs underground 2 and most wanted might come back for switch
I was hoping they were going to be easter eggs in Cruisn Blast... but I suppose I can wait a but longer for remasters 😀
Think and then do please. I imagine many would be down for this.
DO IT!!! DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m preordering Cruisn’Blast in the hope that this happens
@Specter_of-the_OLED “Yeap just give us a remastered collection of the original 3 arcade games for Switch and PC, those were quite fun at the time.”
LOL, I love the totally casual request for Nintendo to publish a game on PC as if that would ever happen.
Maybe also add to the tracks in the remastered version. The Japan, Germany and Africa/ Kenya levels for example in World are kind of bland. Add Tokyo to the Japan level, a big safari to the Kenya level and Berlin Wall and a castle section to the Germany level would be great.
Yes please!!! Day one purchase!
Cool
Can we have them on cartridge
@BloodNinja I've got AX running on my Wii alongside Mario Kart Arcade. It's cool, more of the same, but good.
Yes please and thank you! I am buying crusin Blast day one. I would be so freaking happy to have the original arcade trilogy HD which would be another day one physical purchase for me. I still own the N64 games but I would definitely buy them again on my Nintendo switch.
@TheWingedAvenger
Same here. I never got the chance to play the arcade versions until I had already sunk a lot of hours into the N64 versions.
Arcade conversions in that era were either hit or miss. For every amazing conversion like Soul Edge on PS1 (which did have a few graphical downgrades but they mostly confined it to background elements; the character models were almost identical) or X-Men vs Street Fighter on Saturn, you had crap like Mortal Kombat Gold on Dreamcast or Marvel Super Heroes on Playstation.
I would prefer a Choro Q game on switch. Especially the one with many car components to obtain.
Take my money!
Thatll be cool, I'd even like to see the arcade versions included for differences, also online and local multiplayer
Yes bring back the arcade versions of Cruis'n USA Cruis'n World and Cruis'n Exotica if that happens I will go out and get a switch because I have dreamed of having these games again because I miss him so dearly the arcade versions anyway!!!
