@JasmineDragon It's been a mobile game for years, it's not bad but after a certain point it just turns into whatever the touchscreen swiping equivalent of button bashing is
@Ralizah Let's hope so because those games where you run from a monster and can't defend yourself are great right up until you die for the first time, then the monster loses any kind of threat and you realise death has no real consequences. I want to shoot something in the face!
The game was good but really let down by the combat and generally how easy it was. Once you get the ability to heal yourself it makes the collection of food and the boss fights pointless. Some of the enemies were annoying as well like those purple blob things that pop up and seemingly hit you every single time because you don't have long enough reach with your hair whip. The monster cards and secondary attacks really add nothing to the game (with the exception of the invincibility bubble which again renders the game stupidily easy). That being said the exploration was very good and its still better than the majority of platformers out there
Large publishers going the crowdfunding route goes against the whole ethos of crowdfunding imo, I can totally understand a small developer wanting to make their game and not having the money, I've donated to a few games myself, but when the likes of Capcom come with cap in hand it's essentially saying 'Pay for this game before we've even started making it, that way all the risk is on you and not us'. No thanks.
Like many others it seems, I was about to take a punt on this because I love the original film, then I saw the price.... are they having a laugh? In this day and age a game that looks like that doesn't get to sell for 35 quid.
Lets hope theres a day one patch because it runs like crap at the moment, dropping from 60fps to 30fps every few seconds. Particularly bad when you speak to someone or leave a house.
@geox30 They've alreeady said they aren't going to target 60fps. Is it possible? More than likely but it would require restarting the whole thing and they clearly can't be bothered.
I really like the first game despite getting nowwhere on it, in fact it reminded of my first days of gaming on the Spectrum and only ever getting 5 screens into a game. You'd think I'd have improved after thirty odd years but Spelunky says otherwise
You only need to go on the Trials Rising subreddit to see just how badly they botched this game, the subreddit is dead and people stopped caring a long time ago. Major bugs still havent been fixed, the UI is a shambles, promised free DLC hasn't arrived and when it does will have to be purchased with 'Acorns' a premium currency which you can acquire in tiny amounts in the game. The online is dead already on all formats.
It's a real shame because underneath all this mess the core games levels are some of the best the series has ever seen and it could have been a great game, unfrotunately it seems they may have killed off the franchise with this one.
@Tempestryke because collectors want a game on cartridge that will still be playable in twenty years time when Nintendo has long abandoned the switch and the patches aren't available. I've waited four years for this game, day one backer and I get this mess of a port. Its completely unacceptable.
@Moon Check the amazon reviews, theres a fair few unhappy people, but then people generally only make a noise when theyre unhappy. At the end of the day it has a warranty and if you've got nintendo online you wnt lose your games saves if it all goes wrong. The samsung equivalent is four times the price
@Cissero Its already extremely cheap for the amount of content you get, lots of puzzles, lots replay value trying to get S ranks. I urge everyone to buy it
One of my favourite 3ds games, been playing the Switch one today and it's just a shame they have to waste half the game showing the mechanics to new players, I understand it but still, for seasoned players it's just the same thing as before. Hopefully it leads to a sequel or a port of the three on 3ds though.
Played the first two cases last night, the animation is top notch by far the best of the series. The translation is great as well, there's parts where the chat log doesn't work for a few sentences, and I kind of wish they'd have shortened the Japanese names like capcom would have almost certainly done in a western release but other than that its a very good translation so far.
As for the game the first episide is pretty standard stuff, it's the second one where you get to see something a bit different and it throws a few curveballs at you along the way. I like that so far it doesn't have any of the increasingly complicated mechanics they started throwing into the likes of 'spirit of justice' its much more of an old school Phoenix Wright but with its own new ideas of storytelling.
@ShadJV I think where they started to go wrong was with all the stupid new ways to spot clues, they obviously felt the need to mix up the formula a bit but in Spirit of Justice especailly things just got too complex, and I'm not really sold on all the supernatural stuff. Give me the original way of finding a clue and presenting it, but make it a little more ambitous, like you can miss clues and they can send the case in different directions. Of course you'd then be able to fail a case but that the price you pay for not being thorough

Making a game run at a higher resolution, using an emulator isn't a 'remaster'. I think the term he's looking for is 'cashgrab'
