Re: Feature: Shantae And The Seven Sirens Director On WayForward's Design Approach To This Metroidvania Series

The game was good but really let down by the combat and generally how easy it was. Once you get the ability to heal yourself it makes the collection of food and the boss fights pointless. Some of the enemies were annoying as well like those purple blob things that pop up and seemingly hit you every single time because you don't have long enough reach with your hair whip. The monster cards and secondary attacks really add nothing to the game (with the exception of the invincibility bubble which again renders the game stupidily easy). That being said the exploration was very good and its still better than the majority of platformers out there

Re: Mega Man Legends Composer Wants To Crowdfund The Third Entry

Large publishers going the crowdfunding route goes against the whole ethos of crowdfunding imo, I can totally understand a small developer wanting to make their game and not having the money, I've donated to a few games myself, but when the likes of Capcom come with cap in hand it's essentially saying 'Pay for this game before we've even started making it, that way all the risk is on you and not us'. No thanks.

Re: Get Ready To Eat Some Dirt When The Second Trials Rising Expansion Arrives Next Month

You only need to go on the Trials Rising subreddit to see just how badly they botched this game, the subreddit is dead and people stopped caring a long time ago. Major bugs still havent been fixed, the UI is a shambles, promised free DLC hasn't arrived and when it does will have to be purchased with 'Acorns' a premium currency which you can acquire in tiny amounts in the game. The online is dead already on all formats.

It's a real shame because underneath all this mess the core games levels are some of the best the series has ever seen and it could have been a great game, unfrotunately it seems they may have killed off the franchise with this one.

Re: The Great Ace Attorney Receives Full 3DS Translation Thanks To Fans

Played the first two cases last night, the animation is top notch by far the best of the series. The translation is great as well, there's parts where the chat log doesn't work for a few sentences, and I kind of wish they'd have shortened the Japanese names like capcom would have almost certainly done in a western release but other than that its a very good translation so far.

As for the game the first episide is pretty standard stuff, it's the second one where you get to see something a bit different and it throws a few curveballs at you along the way. I like that so far it doesn't have any of the increasingly complicated mechanics they started throwing into the likes of 'spirit of justice' its much more of an old school Phoenix Wright but with its own new ideas of storytelling.

@ShadJV I think where they started to go wrong was with all the stupid new ways to spot clues, they obviously felt the need to mix up the formula a bit but in Spirit of Justice especailly things just got too complex, and I'm not really sold on all the supernatural stuff. Give me the original way of finding a clue and presenting it, but make it a little more ambitous, like you can miss clues and they can send the case in different directions. Of course you'd then be able to fail a case but that the price you pay for not being thorough
