As a big Sega Saturn fan I'm excited to see more of its games come to modern platforms, a really good lineup of games here too

Original Doom with ray tracing which looks really nice, plus some more Kirby with the boy and perhaps get back on Elden Ring

The SNES controller was back in stock in the UK last week, luckily I got one

@Damo not exactly true, there is a 5V connection through HDMI as the signal works both ways for the "handshake" to determine that either side are compatible and things like resolution and HDR. A scart is just the console sending out the signal regardless and the TV either reads it or not. Still I'd agree highly unlikely if at all possible to brick it that way.

The biggest issue is that image doesn't look anything like 4K

That second image doesn't look anything like 4K, just more like a sharpening filter. 8ve seen such devices make a difference in 480p games but rarely if ever 1080p. The Switch looks fine on my 4K TV so I'll pass

@Max_the_German your loss, I regularly play games at higher framerates than the PS5 is capable of but have no issues playing this at 30fps. I get the 3d Mario comparison but this isn't built around the precise platforming those games often aim for

Is it just a cloud version or can I download it?

Well deserved and already one of my favourites on the Switch, its just fun to play in a world where that is seemingly forgotten by some publishers

The biggest thing it could learn is by having every game on it be purchasable so that the subscription is an option, not mandatory to play legacy games

It's been a long time since I played a COD game that I enjoyed and I doubt I'll ever play another, remaster or otherwise. I mean for a series that's been done to death, the last thing it needs is remasters and rereleases, though for Switch I can understand the appeal for some given its portable nature

The problem is mobile and console gaming have very little in common, the most successful mobile games barely resemble traditional gaming experiences and I'm not convinced it makes much difference to their console side

If you have a Wii just hack the thing and add all the games from the eshop you could ever want plus many many more

Ninja Hideaway for me, such a brilliantly designed course and a good soundtrack. My boy would vote for Shroom Ridge because it has cars on it

1. It works today unlike some racing games
2. It's not riddled with microtransactions unlike other Kart Racers
3. Ninja Hideaway is a great new track
4. A few of the tracks are a bit safe and don't really utilise MK8's mechanics.

Overall still a welcome addition to the game

I find Mario Kart Tour to be a bit rubbish but I'm more than happy to be playing its courses in a great MK game

I'm glad to see old Sega games getting remakes but this does seem on odd choice in an era of no light guns, at least outside of PC now so hopefully this gets a PC release. Let's face it this has no chance of playing as well as the original game, or even the Wii games which were a decent approximation. Still I'll be buying this out of curiosity and it should still be fun to play

I was hoping we'd be moving away from this con of having 2 versions, at least it looks to retain the open world of Arceus

Nightdive have been doing amazing work with their remasters and Nintendo would be fools not to let them work on their games too. Let's be honest Nintendo's efforts with the likes of Mario 64 are pretty embarrassing compared to what these guys have done

@GrailUK well retroarch is on Steam now so it'll be incredibly easy and even the standalone ones will be very simple

@Stocksy yeah I find some of the reactions a bit odd, when all is said and done MK8 is still a brilliant game amd is now effectively going to double in size for not very much money, or no extra cash if you have the expansion pack. It's a bit left field from Nintendo but a welcome surprise and because I don't play the mobile games, quite a few will be brand new

@Banjo- @betterman I played a lot of Street Racer back on the SNES and then the Saturn which has a great version

@Stocksy I'm definitely in the first camp of not liking Mario Kart Tour, however I am delighted they are bringing those tracks over to Mario Kart 8, I can't wait

This I my type of game, a must buy and I'll try to get a physical copy

I'll be honest and say I've not used either store for a long time and likely never will again, that doesn't mean I agree with the closure. The biggest problem is the lack of a unified store between their consoles, meaning your games don't come forward even if they are on the next platform. This needs to stop and any future hardware either be compatible with the software or allow you to own any comparable games.

Sadly this also seems to mean that Nintendo's classic games will forever be behind a subscription model

The game I've been looking forward to most this month and one of the very best games from the Sega Saturn, I can't wait to dive back into this one

@gcunit same but I'll give it a go, my only concern is what content is inevitably locked behind a paywall

@chipia yeah a Diddy Kong Racing style mode or Sonic R which did something similar even earlier could be good

@Dezzy70 there may not me anything for you but there is far more I'm excited for on Switch then on the PS5 at the moment. This may be a rehash but Wii Sports was great fun and I'm looking forward to playing this game, Mario Strikers looks fun as does Kirby and then Xenoblade to top it off. If they're not for you then fair enough but I'll be having a great time with Switch this year

@GrailUK at this point how would they even top Mario Kart 8? The gameplay is pretty much perfect, it's now going to have an insane number of tracks in it. Weirdly I think they've gone the right way, just build upon what's already there and hopefully throw some battle mode tracks and new characters onto the mix

@Old-Red from my understanding the minting of these NFT's could be prohibitively expensive to do so in such large volumes. Its entire business model is low numbers but with a perceived high value and not the other way round

Surely to be Nintendo's best selling home console you'd have to deduct the Switch Lite's sales? It doesn't take away from the Switch's success, just more of an observation

Then you get to the price and realise its largely pointless, that's a lot of money for a limited use product. If only the Switch were portable and had a screen included 🤔

@Clyde_Radcliffe regardless of how they worded it, you shouldn't be forced to use save states in any of these games. This is a service they're charging for and they can't be bothered to implement controller pak support, its nonsense and we all know it

It's pretty shambolic of Nintendo not to support controller pak games in its own emulator, they really do treat their own back catalogue shoddily most of the time and then wonder why people use other means to play them

Nightdives excellent work combined with one of the very best FPS games of the 90's, yes count me in. Exhumed on the Saturn is an excellent game and this one is a little different to your typical shooter, feels a bit more like what Metroid Prime became as you explore the levels and gain new abilities to explore areas that couldn't be reached earlier.

Well Mario Kart 8 already set off down this road with Zelda, F-Zero and Animal Crossing content, so it's not hard to imagine them expanding upon it

I could have predicted that they are making a new Mario Kart, it's hardly a revelation. Can we stop giving these people attention as most of them just guess or make it up

@wizzgamer no it couldn't at all, even the Dreamcast was a huge step up from the N64

@Specter_of-the_OLED I'm well aware of the two versions and the updated move set in Fighters Megamix, another great game. I mean yeah I'll concede VF3 would work on N64, backgrounds might look a bit rough to to its texture limitations and I wouldn't want to play it with that controller, as much as I like it for platformers and fps games though. As for Crazy Taxi, I don't see that being a good time at all and pretty foggy to boot

@Specter_of-the_OLED not initially but it's more than capable of handling 3D and it had VDP2 to handle the backgrounds making those ports possible and very good too

With all due respect to the N64, it wouldn't have been capable of running those games. This man effectively killed off the Saturn when it still had some promising titles on the way and essentially left Sega with no market presence in the US for over 12 months

How about making some f*****g games instead of selling this worthless garbage
