I spent hundreds of of hours on Ark on PS4 with 4 other mates from real life. It truly is a fantastic experience. Strangely, The actor Vin Diesel is a play tester and bug reporter.
Apparently on PS5, it now runs as good as ever.
I miss the world of Ark though I am not going back as there is a real sunrise to enjoy.
Curious though to see how the Switch update pans out. The video footage above is pretty damn good.
If anything, this could mean that they have updated the game for an upcoming Switch Revision.......
I am still yet to play Chrono Trigger (and Half Life 2) of all the classics.
I voted for FFVI though would be happy with the pixel remaster.
I absolutely forgot that Lufia and the sequel were a thing. I had those in the 90s on my trusty SNES Disk Drive. And Mystical Ninja - that was great. I confused that with the recent Pocky and Rocky release.
During my 2 week work experience I discovered a guy working there had a disc drive too and we swapped then copied the games we had. Those were the days!
Possible contenders for this list:
Shadowrun Tales of Phantasia 7th Saga Secret of Mana (I was so disappointed with the last remake)
What are everyone's favourite Metroidvania(s) of the past five years?
I think for me it would be Hollow Knight.
I have loved video games for about 40 years. I realised recently that is a real blessing when a developer bottles lightning like in the making of a Dark Souls, a Hades, a Darkest Dungeon, an Into the Breach, a Slay the Spire or a Returnal.
Yet, it is a bloody curse as bottling lightning doesn't happen very often. Most other games, despite being good, are just bottles.
This game looks really good and now my cup of tea after playing Xenoblade 3 - if there was a sure option of a Switch release I'd back this. I am not one for the random toys and game related objects though if you are, their Kickstarter has nailed it - they have game engraved pocket watches!
@Mioaionios Fair enough - I only ask with Xeno 3 as the combat became quote easy when certain builds were (assuming level parity with the enemy) possible later in the game. The puzzle of combat faded for me.
I plan to try and get through Ys VIII (8) as it is on trial with Switch Online. Got back into JRPGs for first time after 25 years with a play through of Xenoblade 3 last week. Ah the memories of simpler times of the 90s.
Other considerations that are on brutal sales on the eshop:
@SwitchForce Exactly and agree - The concept of free trade assumes that jobs are not traded, just the manufactured goods or services. Hence globalisation actually runs counter to the concept of free trade. I do wish Nintendos were still made in Japan!
Whichever way we see it, most consoles and games are made by a slave labour force without any rights nor environmental regulations that indirectly supports an authoritarian government that has little to no respect for human values and life.
My Switch was made in Vietnam (not China) which I am happy about. I will not buy any physical games unless they are made in Japan. I am happy to pay more for these criteria. Deku is great for snaring digital bargains too as an offset.
I have only recently been clued up on this subject as in the past, I had not clue!
Some ways to encourage manufacturing back to a country that has outsourced is:
1) Government subsidies
2) Banning certain imports/higher Tariffs
3) Societal stigmas/shaming of buying certain goods
4) Promoted respect for the country of origin
Would be happy not to receive any packaging outside of something that protects the item itself.
@BadTango Yeah! Portable Roguelikes ftw. I also love Monster Train and Griftlands. About to crack open Nowhere Prophet and just backed Gordian Quest on KS for Switch.
Return to Eden looks good and waiting for Isaac + DLC to come down from the £55 (65 USD) entry price.....
I use this site to track and get notified about digital game prices too (list is what I am looking out for atm):
I have Slay the Spire on mac - top 10 GOAT for me. Love it! I still CANNOT beat Ascension level 20 with any character. Came two turns away with the Ironclad. Man...
Thanks for the heads up re: Skul, may be I will give a whirl on Neon Abyss, Children of Morta or Cult of the Lamb instead.
Yes, I feel like I need to play Portal 2 more than I feel the need to play it.
I just added my collection to my profile here - it took 5 minutes. Have a look, we may have more games in common.
@SwitchForce Ah thanks, makes sense that the trophy and speed running thing is a bit of a vanity/competitive thing. Maybe if I was a kid again, I'd be into it.
I have just finished the story on Xenoblade 3. I recommend anyone to play even if it is not your usual bag.
First JRPG in 25 years as I was waiting something that could be better than FF7. For me, it is.
What a bloody game that is and a masterpiece alongside Returnal, Hades, FF6/7, Bloodbourne, Dead Cells, Civilisation, Last of Us 1/2, Slay the Spire and Witcher 3.
I am yet to play RDR2 or Elden Ring though in 40 years Xenoblade 3 joins the list.
I will play through again next year on hard to finish in time for the probably massive December 2023 expansion.
@RubyCarbuncle The battle system does take a while to grok. Oh man, the strategy (making the builds over class/ouros, accessories, gems, and art(s)) and inheritance coupled with the timing of tactics in battle make it incredible deep and rewarding.
There are a silly number of tutorials and practices.
Agree with you on Chain Attacks though! That took me a while and I now love the risk/reward of the imperfect information.

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, LEGO Star Wars & More Crowned TIME's 'Best Video Games Of 2022'
I have not yet played Elden Ring though Xenoblade 3 should at least be at number two.
Re: Review: Ship Of Fools - Roguelite Deck Defence That's A Blast With A Mate
I just played this with a mate today - coop IRL.
It is really fun and does not outstay its welcome.
I hope they give an option for text size in a later patch/update.
It was impossible to see the effects of characters or items in docked mode - far too small.
Re: Feature: Mecha And Memories - How 16-Bit Nostalgia Influenced SNES-Style JRPG 'Chained Echoes'
Will defo pick this up. Anything that triggers that 90s feeling.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector's Edition Is Finally Available To Pre-Order, If You Can Access The Site
I am yet to even receive the email after subscribing to the CE.
Maybe the best way to look at this is that Nintendo focuses on games development rather than any extraneous nonsense.
Still, I'd quite like this nonsense.
Re: Overwatch 2 Player Calculates '5 Year' F2P Grind To Unlock New Hero's Cosmetics
@BLD Ah cool! Thanks man. Love playing as Lucio.
Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch
@Otoemetry Agree with the JRPGs - what an insane month. I need a couple of parallel universes to play in.
Re: Overwatch 2 Player Calculates '5 Year' F2P Grind To Unlock New Hero's Cosmetics
Man, I have Lucio's Jazzy skin from Overwatch 1 - I have not played in a while. Does that mean it is gone forever. Ever?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 1st)
@Freek Lufia is a charming game!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 24th)
Played through Inside again which was great fun. Maybe will playthrough LImbo again.
Still trying to keep the guys sane in The Darkest Dungeon.
For the bar, a little Downwell! Great in portrait mode.
Waiting for SMTV and 13 Sentinels to arrive!
Re: Dead Cells Huge 'Enter The Panchaku' Update Finally Arrives On Switch Today
I would love to see a menu with all the animation clips that have previewed each update.

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your First Mario Kart Game?
43% for Super Mario Kart (myself included).
It indicates that the average of the people that voted are over 40.
A percentage for every year we've been alive Hahaha
Re: Mana, Xenoblade Alumni's Co-Op RPG 'Trinity Trigger' Coming West Next Year
@Friendly Haha! I have actually done this and here is the list that I need to play:

Trinity Trigger looks like Secret of Mana for the 21st century. I am really interested.
Re: It's Official, A Third 'Voice Of Cards' Is Coming To Switch Very Soon
@Astral-Grain The Beatles used to do this all the time.
Also, metal cards:

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 27th)
Darkest Dungeon Ancestral - gonna start a new play through.
Return to Wolfenstein II New Colossus - mindless shooting!
Ni No Kuni - chill.
Re: Cult Of The Lamb Version 1.0.3 Live For Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Oh! I might pick this up then. Looks like a mix between Hades and Don't Starve
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Shares His Final Smash Bros. Ultimate Screenshot
I am off to Japan next year. I need to hit this guy up for a beer.

@Mioaionios Fair enough - I only ask with Xeno 3 as the combat became quote easy when certain builds were (assuming level parity with the enemy) possible later in the game. The puzzle of combat faded for me.
Still a 10/10 and top 10 game though!
Re: Introducing 'RoTATE' - A New Desktop Stand & Kickstarter Project For Switch
Yay! More fish food (plastic). Lol.
This would be great for Downwell though will stick with kickstand on OLED.

@Mioaionios Wow! Second playthrough!
I will play through again late next year before the Dec 2023 DLC drops.
Will you play on hard? I plan to next time after the first on normal.
What a fantastic game.
Re: Nintendo's Next Free Game Trials Are Now Available For Switch Online Members
@iaLgan Thank you. Going to try and finish the main story in 6 days then
Re: Nintendo's Next Free Game Trials Are Now Available For Switch Online Members
Question please guys. I have just subscribed to Switch Online for the first time.
With the free game trial is it the whole game for one week time limited?
Thanks all!
Re: Cult Of The Lamb Shepherds In 1 Million Sales In Just One Week

Re: Cult Of The Lamb Shepherds In 1 Million Sales In Just One Week
@bozz Ah good to know!
Re: Cult Of The Lamb Shepherds In 1 Million Sales In Just One Week
I am keen for this game. Has anyone played it on the Switch and could you please summarise the performance?
My mate has it on PS5 and he is loving it!

Re: Round Up: Cursed To Golf Reviews Signal A Potential Masterpiece
I am biased when it comes to well reviewed roguelikes so will likely pick this up.
Next week brings "I was a Teenage Exocolonist", last week was "Cult of the Lamb" (waiting for a performance patch).
It's a great time to be alive.

@EarthboundBenjy I think we are asking the same question! Yours is more succinct
Re: Random: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Gets The Game Boy Treatment
Could someone fill me in here please re: demakes? I had a gameboy years ago and loved it back in the day.
Is this remake on a GB cart? Is it on a GB emulator? Is it on a PC with just the look of a GB game?
Apologies for ignorance.
Re: Backlog Club: Portal's A Triumph - I'm Making A Note Here: HUGE SUCCESS
This is on the list of games that I really, really want. Maybe I need to stop being a gypsy and just buy at full price. Lol
I wish I could buy digital games for other people's accounts too.
These are the bomb!

Re: Dead Cells' 'Enter The Panchaku' Free Update Gets Slight Delay On Switch
I love this game. I still cannot properly finish 5BC Been stuck in literal purgatory for 2 years lol.
Good recommendations in the comments. For me:
Dead Cells > Hades > Curse of the Dead Gods > Risk of Rain 2 > Moonlighter > Going Under > Neurovoider > Crown Trick > Mana Spark
Wanted for Skul & Cult of the Lamb sale like a pikey!

Tempted by SMTV if that counts?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 6th)
Xenoblade 3 which is my first JRPG in 25 years.
So decided to pick up Ni No Kuni in the sale.
And some pick up and play of Downwell.
Loving the Switch.
Re: Best Switch Games... That Don't Fit In Other Lists Of Best Switch Games
@Rykdrew Agree.
Looking forward to Gordian Quest!
