We think Cult of the Lamb is pretty darn good, but if there's one issue we highlighted with the cult-forming roguelike, it's the game's various performance bugs. Fortunately, we haven't had to wait long for a patch that will fix these issues, and the developer has shared what to expect in version 1.0.3.
Sharing details of the update on the game's official Discord channel (Thanks, Nintendo Everything!), Massive Monster has addressed a softlock problem, Portuguese-language localisation issues, drop rates, and optimisation. There's also one issue where you couldn't bring more than six followers into the temple, which meant some quests were difficult to complete.
Here are the full patch notes from Massive Monster and the Cult of the Lamb Discord:

Good to see that they're trying to iron out the issues it has on Switch. I have so many games to play right now that I'm probably just going to wait for a sale so hopefully when I get around to playing it, it'll be a pretty smooth experience. Looks a lot of fun.
Glad to see they're patching things up and really looking into the performance issues. I think I'll wait a bit until the worst things are ironed out, but I'm definitely interested in this game
Wanted to pick this up, but heard about the various issues. If these are rectified, I’ll be happy to finally join this cute lambs cult.
What kept me away from this were the performance issues, mostly. I hope @MitchVogel will give a heads up if and when they're ironed out.
I’m really enjoying this game. I’ve played it for a week or so and I only had the game crash on me once, and had occasional frame rate issues, but it’s not bad. Otherwise my play experience has been pretty good. Glad to see they’re addressing issues though.
A real shame, as I've not long finished the game and honestly, after the slog it was getting through the issues it's kind of soured my interest in revisiting. I'm talking, like, replaying the same dungeon and boss 3 times because I was unlucky enough to get a certain chest, that on opening, would freeze the game 100% of the time. That memory leak too, not sure what the cause is, but having to completely quit the game to gain any semblance of playable performance got old quick.
I do have a 1st gen Switch still, but I've never played another game that's driven me to almost going out and buying an OLED like this before.
Also, I didn't realise that it was a bug that only 6 cultists enter the church at once, I just assumed it was a weird design flaw. I had to fail so many quests because Cultist X wasn't present for me to perform Ritual Y.
Hopefully these updates will be on the physical when produced
Great game but the patch caused the game to crash twice on starting up. I had to uninstall the whole game and then redownload it before it would work properly. I can see some improvement but it’s still laggy as hell in some parts like loading screens and transitions.
I still haven't had any of these issues aside from the six cultists in the church during a sermon and a slight stutter when exiting a dungeon. Maybe I'm lucky?
Still seems to leak memory a bit .. or perhaps my problem is just too many followers. Anyway I've put it back on the back-burner because it's still a bit janky and I just had it freeze on me near the end of a dungeon run. Couple more patches required, I think.
This fix looks like it hits on most of my issues. I'll have to fire it up again and check it out (if I can leave Stardew Valley for a few minutes, that is)
Just started the game and there's some severe visual glitches happening now after the update haha. Great game tho
I love the game, I’m 96 days in (in game) and I’m experiencing major choppiness and framedrops. I’m not usually sensitive to these kind of issues but it’s pretty rough at times. Mostly in camp but also some in the dungeon areas. Not trying to put anybody off of it, great game
Yeah, the game still crashed on me (just after killing a boss so I thought I’d just wasted a run- thankfully it still counted) but then the lag is still crazy at times- I lost my first attempt on the 3rd boss because the lag meant there was no way I could avoid his bullet hell attack.
It’s a fun game but the Switch version has problems
Oh! I might pick this up then. Looks like a mix between Hades and Don't Starve
