The issue is, you’ve assumed because this company is well-known and making multi-millions of dollars that every product they bring out needs to be ground-breaking and revolutionize the industry.
Gamers today are like crack addicts that don’t experience that same sensation of “high” they had when they first play. Pokémon Sword and Shield do fine for what they intend to do and are better than any of their predecessors.
Gamers have already experienced those feelings before and like crack addicts, expect their next “high” to be profoundly better than their last experience.
This is why I have said and will continue to say gamers have an entitled mindset. They complained last week during the Nintendo Direct and they complained this week about the Pokémon games; they will always complain.
Wait until Zelda BotW is shown off and much of the land is the same as the first game. I’ll bet you’ll see complaints then as well. It’s not like there isn’t always a Lake Hylia or Hyrule Field or Lost Woods or Death Mountain, and we all celebrate it every single time.
Pokémon has a formula that made them millions. They keep using it, it keeps making millions. If gamers are going to keep griping maybe they should find a different addiction.
Yes, that’s precisely my point. Fans EXPECTED something specific and then when things didn’t lay out their way, the world ended and “Nintendo is horrible and gave us nothing and wa wa wa wa.”
Last year the world shut down because of an apparently horrendous virus that decimated everything. The world is still not bounced back. What do you really expect when employees can’t work together as they used to?
They have:
Monster Hunter Rise
Mario Golf
Zelda Skyward Sword HD
Miitopia
Outer Wilds
Ninja Gaiden
No More Heroes 3
Fall Guys
Apex Legends
New Hyrule Warriors/Smash/Animal Crossing DLC/updates.
Famicom Detective Club
Project Triangle Strategy
Legend of Mana
Ghosts n’ Goblins Ressurection
Splatoon 3 (2022)
Other than Splatoon 3 what they showed is mostly up to July 2021, which is memory serves me correctly leaves 5 more months of stuff they didn’t even talk about, and Nintendo always hits hardest the second half of the year.
For me sometimes I enjoy playing by myself because it is not as chaotic or random and I can focus on just completing every objective. (Gold flag, collectible stamp, bonus exit, etc.)
Sometimes I do enjoy playing with others for the social aspect and fun that the chaos does bring.
But you see it offers both, so wether you do or wether you don’t like multiplayer you still have options.
The simple fact alone that one of the best 3D Mario games of all time is getting rereleased on the Switch with online and additional content makes this worth a purchase. I’m sure Bowser’s Fury will be fun regardless.
The game looks faster and crisper, and I’d venture to guess that they’ll have another character or two after Rosalina. I highly doubt all cards have been revealed for this hand yet.
Do you want to know why third party games don’t sell well? Most opt to partially put their game out on a physical cart but require a ridiculous download. Some don’t even put out physical at all and require a solid chunk of digital space on the system.
Consumers don’t want that, I am a consumer and that’s exactly why I didn’t but Boarderlands, Bioshock or Doom Eternal. Not after Mortal Kombat 11 took 26gb of space...
Now, have a company pull a Witcher 3 and put that whole beast on a physical cart and they’ll get my purchase right away.
I’d venture to guess that most other consumers would do the same.
Would really like Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Will probably get Jonsey from Fortnite. The Doomslayer or Rayman would also be nice. The Prince of Persia along with a PoPSoTR would be interesting. I also believe Link is not represented enough so what we really and truly need is a Hyrule Warriors Link
There was some good thing from Nintendo a few years ago there but last year tons of hype and nothing really shown off. I’m setting the bar exceedingly low for this by saying that there’s going to be nothing announced so I won’t be let down by the hype.
Is there a physical cartridge edition of DOOM Eternal on Nintendo Switch available? Not at this time – DOOM Eternal for Nintendo Switch is available only as a digital download
I refer you to “not at this time”. It leaves the possibility there.
Hold up... so my comment gets removed even though it was a play on words and you write two entire articles “tiptoeing” around what you and everyone else in the internet blatantly thinks the meat is as Steve’s penis, and you can’t accept what I wrote, even though I didn’t use ANY profanity or ANY derogatory statements?
I can’t speak for the Vita version, having never cared to own one. As far as I know, it is a dead system and the Switch is still supported very strongly. I suppose it is a personal preference you’ll have to decide on.

Not at all what I said.

Pokémon sword and shield weren’t bad they just weren’t what your entitled mind thinks it deserved.

Fans need to tone down their expectations honestly. What we get is more than what we knew last week and what we get is better than we deserve.
Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Launch Sales Are 190% More Than The Wii U Version
Just give us an enhanced Xenoblade Chronicles X where you can reach level 99 and has some story bonus features and I’m good for 2021.

Day 1. Ys VIII was fantastic. Pretty drastic change from tropical climate and time travel to dark and gothic vampire slaying.
It never bridges the games stories though, does it?

Hyrule Warriors is my lifeline for games this winter season.

I’d definitely buy Treasure Trove on Switch, then, hands down.
Re: Poll: What Was The Best Switch Launch Game (That Wasn't Zelda: Breath Of The Wild)?

I can’t speak for the Vita version, having never cared to own one. As far as I know, it is a dead system and the Switch is still supported very strongly. I suppose it is a personal preference you’ll have to decide on.
