Nintendo's latest update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which was announced yesterday, is now live.
This minor update bumps the game up to version 9.0.1 and fixes multiple issues linked to the new DLC fighters from Minecraft. Opponents will no longer fall through the stage when these characters create a block in a certain location.
One other change not mentioned in the latest patch notes is the adjustment of Steve's victory screen. He now gobbles up the entire steak. See the difference in our comparison post.
Below are the full patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo's support page:
Ver. 9.0.1 (Released October 21, 2020)
General
- Fixed the issue where sometimes an opposing fighter would go through the landscape when Steve/Alex created a block at a certain location and the opposing fighter destroyed the block.
- Fixed the issue where sometimes an opposing fighter would go through the landscape when Steve/Alex created a block at a certain location and the anvil created with a down air attack struck the opposing fighter.
- Fixed the issue where the opposing fighter would become uncontrollable when Steve/Alex hit them with a minecart in certain situations.
- Fixed the issue where if Steve/Alex's minecart bounced off the wall, it would not hit the opposing fighter.
- Fixed the issue where opposing fighters carried in Steve/Alex's minecart would sometimes be warped to the original location where they were picked up.
- Fixed the issue where certain fighters could go through Steve/Alex's block once KO'd.

Praise God, Steve's victory screen is gone
Steve no longer holds his meat and can't mine his way through the floor. Good to know.
...so why were we going off on huge tangents about big balance changes to other characters again?
So if Steve doesn't have his meat, is he now vegetarian? : !
Steve got caught Toobin before it was a thing.
Life clearly imitates art.
It actually makes more sense that the steak vanishes, though they also repositioned his arm after he finishes the steak
Ya just can’t beat that meat. Good update, Nin10do
I guess Steve's meat got eaten UP.
Banned from Nintendo Life.
Reason: Really Bad Sexual Joke
@HotGoomba Don't worry thats the hole :0 reason we are here.
If we want to see someone holding their meat, there’s always Rudy Giuliani.
It took Steve an entire game patch just to finally finish eating that massive steak, talk about slow eater lol
@nessisonett I’ve already seen that lunatic in drag, being flirty with trump. I don’t want to imagine him holding his flaccid roll of putty...
@PikaPhantom I mean if he hes holding a stack of meat of which the max is 64, it makes sense he kept it, but lets assume hes always eating his last steak.
At first, I was expecting to see something about the removal of Steve’s meat, but then I realized that Nintendo would most likely just want to pretend it never happened. I was right!
