Mundaun

Next year, we'll be getting our hands on a brand new horror game on Switch in the form of Mundaun, a hand-drawn effort from Swiss programmer and illustrator Michel Ziegler.

We first spoke about the game back in July when an announcement trailer gave us our first taste of what to expect, along with the following description:

After learning of his grandfather's mysterious death in a fire, the protagonist travels to Mundaun for the first time since childhood. He will soon discover that something old and diabolical is haunting the remaining inhabitants. The quest to find out the meaning behind these sinister events takes players on an odyssey up Mundaun mountain, across steep meadows to stony fields and snow-covered peaks.

Now, though, we've been treated to a batch of lovely new screenshots, all of which show off the game's hand-pencilled scenery. The art style gives off an immediately eerie vibe, yet something about it makes us want to jump in and explore. Check these out:

Mundaun is scheduled to launch on Switch in Q1 2021, so make sure to keep an eye out for it on the eShop if you're intrigued. It's said to be filled with secrets to discover, hostile encounters, vehicles to drive, and hand-crafted puzzles.
