At least its better than x game is based on x country let's liken it to a real geopolitical theory.... which of course is utter nonsense I swear those people forget the regions are still fictional.
Edit: I have fixed an unitended error to help avoid confusion as to my understanding of certain words for certain users. But I can understand the reasoning behind such confusion.
@PipeGuy64Bit oh please, nintendo had a clean case this time. If yuzu didn't settle it would've been much worse. Its easy to find how yuzu shot themselves in the foot. They literally were asking for it.
@TurboSax except whether people like nintendo or not. In this case nintendo must be in the right legally otherwise they wouldn't have won so easily right?
@Captain_on_Deck "I see no reason nintendo or anyone should decide what I do with something I bought" Problem is when you purchase anything physical or digital from nintendo you're just buying the right to play the game, not the rights to anything related to its code its in their terms. Using the emulator isn't illegal but moving the data anywhere else is because in order to do so you'll have to circumvent certain systems.
@DiamondCore In the case of a switch emulator its not so much the emulator itself being illegal, its how the ROM itself was obtained. Nintendo chose a proprietary format for a reason, I.e meaning any re-production of something able to read such a game card is illegal, and if you hack a switch and take the ROM then this is also illegal.
Point is that's 99% the argument any nintendo lawyer could make.
I've always found it odd to call a game that only released in japan a "western" release when it goes international, I mean wouldn't calling it a international releases make more sense? Saying Western release makes it give cold war museum vibes lol.
Nah I don't really need VA in pokemon nothing really wrong with a bit of reading. And I very much prefer the Avatar approach used pokemon. Pokemon masters is a separate continuity in its own universe which is physically impossible in pokemo games hence Gloria's existence she's different because she is NOT the player. But honestly the author of this article always characterises the avatars in pokemon articles so I'm not surprised she mentions that awful accent.
@Joeynator3000 The dialogue is usually a vocal representation of the pokemons in game cry, and smash games use the anime VA, again highlighting that as always the animation and other medium is a separate continuity. Excluding pikachu and eevee ofc
@FishyS Heres a fun fact for you. The 10 year old rule for the avatars is an "anime" only thing. The only times the games have mentioned an age was in gen 7 stating around 11. PLA avatars don't really look all that different to me from any others and there mentioned to "look 15"
Just a note the docked mode looks way worse on a big 4k tv (probably due to the UI being stuck at 720p) so much so I wouldn't recommend it. Luckily brought it for portable play which looks less blurry on the small screen. Great game though.
I'm sorry but the posters are joke I checked every day, as as I woke up. How can they be sold out already. To make matters worse I imagine I'll find these on ebay later. Ruddy Scalpers

This announcement was pure meh for me it was out before I was born, therefore although I am a huge zelda fan I struggle to enjoy the side scrolling zelda games
@Retupmocnin Yeah I know that but a smaller process doesnt wipeout thermal limits even a hypothetical 1nm will still throttle eventually and basically all you've said is that a better nm means less heat cuz the chip could be underclocked (the switch already is btw) by keeping the original clock speed giving enough overhead so that it would apparently not get too hot, however neither you or me know the thermal limit of running a better chip at those clock rates the heat might be still to much if anything it would be more likely to end up with a smaller fan. And lastly it doesnt change the extra cost of a new chip anyway, therefore this whole thing is pointless the goal of a "switch mini" is cheaper not more expensive.
@Retupmocnin Seriously bro did you just ignore what I said, that chip will throttle which will decrease its power output over time usually in about 15minutes why else do you see games consoles and PCs with cooling vents how can you not understand. A quick Google search could teach you more. Also did you even put any thought onto how much that would cost iPhones are like £1000 yeah that's really going to go into a supposedly sub £200 console.
Honestly as silly as it sounds it wouldn't surprise me if the "mini" console is just a regular sized switch without anything else in the box, with Nintendo's excuse being "other people own switches so use their power cable, dock, and joy-con". I swear that was the reason why Nintendo didn't ship the new 3DS with a power cable.
@Retupmocnin That's not how gpu/cpu in smartphones work yes they have more power potential but after 15mins they undergo throttling which greatly reduces their output. No chip on the market could pump switch graphics for that long without active cooling
@Ventilator Yup hot my xbox one X to partner with my switch it even support audio pass through for blu ray movies which is completely unbeatable (wish games did that though) Didn't play BF3 but I know 4 had lots of LFE too and that was when I was using an old HTIB. I'm a student now so my current setup took a lot of saving who knew it would cost £500 for cable. Bluetooth audio is improving especially as Sony has allowed free use of the LDAC codec 990kbps FLAC is usually around 1000kbps so it's getting there. Just 411kbps short of CD
@Ventilator That's what I thought it's still compressed audio contained in a PCM codec the dark souls remaster actually confirms this. Yeah I don't know why Nintendo don't give us the option to buy the licence ourselves like the xbox one X does with atmos headphone or download hires audio on certain games for free if we have the storage space I'd happily pay for at least Dolby 5.1 at least then I'd get better LFE in splatoon 2
@Ventilator The switch does support 5.1 PCM as that's what my amp decodes it as (I pass the audio directly) As to whether the audio is truly uncompressed and hasn't been upscaled and passed off as PCM I don't know, no Google search will ever go that much in depth especially audio wise the surround effects don't seem too great either but Nintendo definitely don't use Dolby digital as they don't pay the license fee.
@GamingDude800 You mean decode atmos right? That's why I said nothing beats a true atmos setup something which phones including my galaxy note 9 which has "atmos" could not compete with. also smartphone games are mostly not good enough to even have 2 channel stereo let alone Atmos lol
@Ventilator Yeah I know no games support Atmos (Nintendo doesn't pay for any audio licences) that's I why I said it would be great if it did. Its weird that the PS4 doesn't though Even though their AV receives do (mine is a Sony STRDN1080) it's just seems like a missed opportunity to me, God Of War would've been even better. Btw 12 channel atmos is just 7.1.2.2 (7.1 with 4 overheads) and is usually only found on 2000GBP or 4000USD av recievers. If you could pick any switch game to have ATMOS what would it be?
@Ventilator Totally agree on phones it's a massive gimmick Oh I forgot my setup is 5.1.2 the .2 being two overhead my av receiver only supports either 7.1 (with no atmos) Or 5.1.2 (with atmos) atmos is totally worth it though just wish switch supported HDR and atmos via HDMi
@Ventilator Atmos requires 7 speakers minimum for a reasonable setup in 5.1.2. (Which is my setup) Atmos is just an object sound algorithm meaning it can place sounds in a typical 3D space. With phones all it does is essentially mimic gaming headphones by expanding the sound field of stereo sound, sure it doesn't beat true multichannel setups but it's supposed to help in gaming. Note that any mobile game is worth Atmos anyway lol
Wow I remember when my Dad was playing this and I was too young so that doll scared the heck out of me years later played the game and enjoyed it so I'll definitely play this again
Give me 60fps (I could deal with 30 though) and 720p handheld zombies and it would be day one for me, tbh just give me a comparable zombies experience and I'm happy.
@rjejr Hope you have an A/V reciever to get that 5.1, my dolby atmos setup is just begging to blast that out (just wish it actually supported atmos, damn you LPCM 5.1)
@Neon_Blues Carbon roller cannot splat an opponent at full health when rolling over them, you need two hits. If your getting splatted once then it's because you weren't at full health when they whent rolling over you.
@tguk911 Yeah your right true wireless for portable is a big no but I guess you can't have everything. Astro A40s are a great headset btw had them for xbox1 before swapping them for turtle beach elite 800s I'm not sure if you can get them working the same way. The elite 800s btw can get full wireless in docked mode as they can use bluetooth to connect to the phone and it's wirelesss transmitter at the same time only difference is as the switch has no optical port I have to plug the optical cable into my tv instead from the transmitter. none of this fixes nintendo's shoddy chat system though. Pleasure talking to you btw especially as some of the comments on this section have gotten toxic.
@tguk911 It does I've got them working along with an older headset by PDP you see like on other consoles chat audio and game audio are seperate things you see the headset gets its audio from the hdmi cable that you use to connect the switch to your tv and then uses a pass through (obviously this would only work in docked mode) to push the video signal to your tv. From there you connect a 3.5mm jack from the headset to your smartphone and then boot up the app (or use discord like me) essentially that splitter that hori made is built into the earcup of the headset and uses the same method for all gaming devices ps4 (fully wireless though as yhe ps3 supports usb chat) xbox1 (needs the 3.5mm to be plugged into the control) etc. Hope this makes sense. The headset costs £110 btw so yeah big price difference.
@Damo The tritton katana HD's are wireless and are paper entry know for nintendo switch (check their product page) also although expensive the turtle beach elite 800s are fully wireless as they can get audio from your tv's optical port (if it has one) and connect to your phone via bluetooth at the same time. So there is already an answer for the end of your article
@tguk911 @RainbowGazelle Seriously there are better headsets out there look at tritton's line of headsets particularly the Katana HDs they are wireless and can get the chat working with one cable I mean seriously what do expect from a cheap wired headset. I don't know why hori didn't make a wireless one anyway (probably too expensive if people are complaining about what they just made)
You know it's really easy to moan at hori for this but what do you expect from a budget headset, all this complaining about lack of bluetooth, when you could by a wireless gaming headset from tritton or turtle beach which will work with the switch. The only cable I need is one to plug from headset to my phone all the mixing is done on the earcup and the wireless transmitter get its audio from my tv's optical port instead of the console giving the same number of cables as the ps4 xbox etc. The turtle beach elite 800s although expensive are fully wireless as they have bluetooth for connecting to your phone. Also the tritton katana HD's use hdmi audio in order to work. Seriously quit complaining you get what you pay for.
@garydbz25 No not in the case of minecraft, it should be capable of running the full res, version of xbox one and ps4, however don't forget that the handheld mode does hold the switch back in some cases, this is because in portable mode it downclocks therefore in order for the experience to be the same and compatible between docked and undocked modes it would need to be optimised for the handheld profile, so simply put if the handhold mode only supports that block res there is no point in having it higher when docked as worlds would be shrunk down when moving from docked to handheld cutting bits out in the process.
So far I like what the switch offers but my main annoyance with the system is the lack of an optical port and Dolby Digital sound processing (when docked of course), say what you like about virtual 5.1 but it would be great for splatoon and any other shooter of it releases on the switch. Really hope COD zombies comes to it that would be fun Great video btw Alex!!!!
@maceng You do make good points with the switch pro control, (even here in the uk £60 is nuts) and the DOL games are very meh except LoZ, but you have to remember it is still a new console (also ninty still refuse to sell consoles at a loss) and although it may not be the most powerful it just needs to be powerful enough e.g. PS2 vs original xbox to get the right games on it. Also the switch will likely sell purely on pokemon alone when that's announced so it may not fail at all. I do agree that a launch switch isn't really worth it too much as it doesn't even have mariokart8 on it and that game is already finished (its just a port) but by christmas and after E3 it will likely pick up some pace.
Don't get why people are complaining about the price, my white xbox one cost £329 with sunset overdrive, and if the switch is at least equal to the xbone paying £280+£40 for a game seems pretty normal to me for a new console. I guess some people want to be super cheap.

Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces
Don't get why people are complaining about the price, my white xbox one cost £329 with sunset overdrive, and if the switch is at least equal to the xbone paying £280+£40 for a game seems pretty normal to me for a new console. I guess some people want to be super cheap.
