@ElRoberico Don't assume I'm American your ignorance there is blatant before you dismiss a so called argument. People in general should read more, as its more engaging for the brain. And it terms of "accessibility" that would be a screen reader in this case not VA. But if we're going to be critical about it then arguably the pokemon series has got to be up for the worse in terms of accessibility. But this article isn't about accessibility. Generally the lack of VA in games is usually because the player is supposed to give those characters a voice.
I've said this before but Nah, people should read more.
That said, a couple of grunts probably couldn't hurt. Given how broad the age range is i think reading is even more important especially for children.
Edit I want to add a bit more, I have to be honest but one thing I'm glad of, when there isn't voice acting is that I don't have to hear an American accent and their pronunciation of words. It's not a knock to Americans, its just quite tiresome at times especially as I'm young enough, that my accent has already been influenced by such media. I also remember when I was very little my mom would play pokemon with me, help me read it and create voices for the characters it was a lot of fun.
Given how awful BDSP were, and how they were called "remakes" I don't trust ILCA to make a remake. BDSP were basically just enhanced ports if anything that's how bad they were.
@EarthboundBenjy except the anime can't pronounce dialga properly pronouncing it as dee-olga. You sure as hell ain't pronouncing diamond as dee-mond or sundial as sun deel. Heck due to the dubbing being American the letter A is problematic.
I don't really care about the ray debate, but the anime can't pronounce dialga right, so I'm not sure I'd trust TPC either especially as they're more likely to lean on the American side of things
Holy airballs, from this article I must be freaking magic with the precision I can pull with motion controls especially in mk8 deluxe, I'm sure people are going to think I'm capping but damn I held those those turns tight and narrow with racing lines. I can only gauge with what's thrown against me online but damn (i usually win my races falling that I'm rarely if ever outside the top 3 and that's including against some sweaty players).
I'll admit its difficult in MKW due to jumping and the fact you can't rewind using the wheel. So I have dropped it at the moment.
Edit: I don't think I've ever heard a racing game even if it is a kart racer claim an analogue stick is more precise. It's way easier to make fine adjustments with a larger turning arc at least for me anyway
Performance seems to be quite disappointing, can only hope DF reviewed the game without a day one patch, at least hopefully patches can improve the games performance.
Wonder what the drops are? Are they like 60 down to like 52 or worse? All I'm gonna say is if you've played the "warriors" series of games I doubt its going to affect much in terms of fun. But depends how bad it is I guess.
@SpontaneousOutburst ummm my guy, the seller sold the game he made a 'legal' copy of that would mean his copy (which apparently he was still using) is now an illegal copy.
@The_Nintend_Pedant yeah no worries 👍, things have been getting heated here these days and piracy seems to be a hot topic. I try to be subjective. I don't think you are defending piracy either, just calling out a flawed system quite fairly.
@The_Nintend_Pedant 🤣 I'm not upset my guy, I'm just trying to help. I think your missing something let me try to explain. In this case specifically I don't think nintendo can tell the difference between a legit cart and a clone. Which is why I said the system is flawed, and why in my personal opinion I don't like it. I just understand how it could happen. Forget MiG cards for a minute, this article refers to the how the "victim" had his console banned due to the same game (with the same ID) possibly being played at the same time which shouldn't be possible unless the game was cloned, on that basis a (basic) system would just issue a ban, due to a possible pirated copy. For context this article does not know if the seller what using a MiG cart only speculate one was involved.
As for how MiG cards themselves are detected no-one knows for sure.
@The_Nintend_Pedant whoa my guy, you're blurring the line between what I said to someone else's. I was only referering to how the guy in THIS article got banned, I was trying to clarify it up a bit. I don't know how they detect MiG carts but I know (based on what others have said) they can detect cloned games by detecting the games unique ID, as it should be impossible for there to be two copies of the same game with the same ID. but if your going on a simple check like that, then there's no way to tell which is the clone and which is the legit copy, its possible two consoles were banned, but we only know of the one from this article (which was then unbanned).
@The_Nintend_Pedant umm the post you linked is about a guy who bought a banned switch 2, what are you getting at here? We know nintendo are banning consoles that use MiG carts, a guy obviously tried to cut his losses and sold a banned console. The guy in this post got done because nintendo detected two duplicate game ID's which could only happen if a game was 'dumped' then the OG copy was used elsewhere. BTW 'dumping' or cloning etc breaks nintendos TOS as it circumvents copy protection measures. Either way no two games should have the same ID.
Basically we are seeing the aftereffects of how normal people can be affected by POSSIBLE piracy.
@The_Nintend_Pedant hi again 👋, nah there's likely no way for the system to differentiate between the legit copy and the 'cloned' copy seeing as the system is likely just detecting the duplicate IDs. Admittedly it's a flawed system.
@WhiteUmbrella dude going on what you just said, you blanket stated the idea of steam deck outperforming switch 2 (even on the basis of power draw) and used the results of this video to shame anyone who disagreed with your original claim despite the 'outperformance' of this video being shakey at best due to frame rate vs visuals. There was no 'fantasy' position. While I don't condone the idea of 'bullying' (if you were) if your going to make a public claim expect to have some pushback, and even if you feel you were eventually validated don't try and call people out, it just makes you look like a butt.
@Bowsers-Inside-Story yes, guy only got done because nintendo detected the game being used on two different consoles at the same time. Basically each copy of a game has an ID, therefore there should not be two games with the same ID unless it was 'copied'.
@AllBLK blowing it out a bit though, the only reason this guy faced any repercussions is because someone else did something shady, the second hand market should be safe, I don't think nintendo are going after it at all but it's clear the og seller 'pirated' his games and attempted to sell on the physical games.
@The_Nintend_Pedant no of course I'm not referring to you specifically, just seems to be a trend I've noticed of late. Where ever there's a switch 1 or 2 post, there always seems to be some mention of a steam deck, usually about how it can emulate nintendo games (despite obtaining those ROMS most likely in a dodgy way). Then there's the steam glazing talking about how pro consumer they are when in reality they're pretty much the same as all the other storefronts. Nintendo have been known to be very protective of their ip and have been for decades at this point if you don't like their terms don't buy or play their products. I don't go in comments very often if at all, that's why it's so weird to keep running into pro steam deck stuff all the time when it should be such a small chance.
@WhiteUmbrella uh I may not know the context of the heat you got (so forgive me if ypu can ) but if you watched the video comparison and somehow came away with "everyone else take your L because I'm right" then you gotta be clutching at straws to claim your "w". In handheld mode sw2 vs steam deck both have advantages and disadvantages, switch 2 for eg targets a better quality image on a fraction of the power draw the steam deck does and when the deck is dropped to that power draw the frame rate tanks, of course it's more stable when operating at its higher power draw (achieves similar battery life b to sw2 but only on oled model) but that has to mean something. I think in this case context is key. With the differences and settings etc it's pretty much going to be a case by case basis. Likely image quality versus frame rate
So to sum it up, the controller is terrible based on it's repairability? Well that sucks ngl, I've usually repaired my controllers myself, luckily I'm yet to have a problem with any of my NSW1 pro controllers.
@The_Nintend_Pedant barely anyone's buying a steam deck, they've sold like 4 million units, switch 2 blitzed passed that in a few days. I always find it funny how often steam deck comes up around switch 2 makes me think the only people bought are obsessed with telling everyone on the internet how good their purchase is. It's almost like steam deck users live on the Internet in comments sections
I gotta be honest, I see far too many people thinking they're special, and are trying to say I don't agree with your terms nintendo so I'll just break copyright protection etc and if you defend nintendo your a fan boy. Tbf the guys saying that are the biggest shills as they're so addicted to video games they can't just not engage with content from a creator they don't like.
Protagonist syndrome at its finest I think.
Also stealing is wrong kids, corporations are greedy, they will sack the honest worker to protect profits, if their business is impacted.
Damn, any one else feel like a lot more of piracy and copyright circumventing going on media these days? Even buying second hand games is a dodgy business, probably were already tbf.
@Slideaway1983 the reason they're against MiG carts is because you dumped your games, only way to dump switch games is by breaking TOS. I'll ask did you modify your switch to grab the ROM? Btw I'm not against it
Bought the official case for it on the same day which came with a screen protector. Moment I took the console out of the box the protector went on. I refuse to use any switch dock without one. If the switch dock scratched your screen at this point and your complaining about it, I'm gonna be mean and say that's entirely on you. The og switch had issues with it. We've known about it for near 10 years.
As far as I'm concerned this will kill any investing in vintage packs out of fear its been scanned and likely has no hits. Should at least make people lose faith in the people who buy up entire shelves that they then hold onto for 10 years.
@WhyYouLie oh you trolling man, you making jokes about how fans read too deeply into things I think. Either way you definitely trolling, fair enough you got me.
But just in case I'll humour you, I've played every pokemon game multiple times and not once have countries ever been mentioned ever, in fact they wouldn't even fit seeing as for example kalos is inspired by France, it has the same geographical shape defined by its borders but it has never been called France and if it was to take place in France it wouldn't fit. In fact the only mention of IRL in pokemon is in gen1 and its remakes, but that only mentions South America and thats a continent. Sun and Moon, USUM, never once mention the US or Hawaii.

@westman98 I'd love to agree with this logic completely buddy, but I I'll be honest, I think the main reason was because nintendo's portable hardware lacked the capability for DLC pre 3ds lol.
@GamingFan4Lyf Pokemon from its roots has always had two versions with the purpose of having version exclusive pokemon. The base premise of pokemon of course was to catch them all, so having two versions would mean that you would have to trade with someone who had a different version to fulfill that purpose. Early ideas for pokemon actually involved each copy of the game being individually unique which was ultimately axed.
A large part of the outrage of the dex cut in SwSh was that as the pokemon themselves were the main content cutting them felt like less content, and being unable to fulfil the initial purpose of catching them all.
Nah, I think with DLC they have made third versions obsolete. Certainly as the DLC is much more cost efficient. And this is coming from someone who has had every 3rd version from gen 3 onwards. I wasn't old enough to follow everything pre gen 3 but if I was at the time I likely would have had those versions too lol.
@Ade117 I miss urchin underpass and I agree its a fantastic map, I've always wondered why it hasn't made a comeback in the sequels, I think it might be because its possibly splatoon 1's signature map. I booted up splatoon 1 a few backs too maybe we teamed up or were against each other lol.
Banging game Splatoon 1 was, only downside was latency when playing online most likely cuased being paired with JPN players, a shame but imagine that was largely due to the low numbers of Wii U's sold. Still love Splatoon 3 though and I'm happy to say its improved on splatoon 1 in every way as it should imo.
@Sisilly_G alright then let's play, firstly I used the term conspiracy in reference to things I have read which can be defined as a conspiracy hence the use of "literal conspiracy". Bear in mind one does not need to prove the legitimacy of the conspiracy in order to apply such a definition it merely needs to fit the criteria.
The term crazy is my own opinion on the topic at hand here.
The exaggeration in my reply refers to my example in my original post.

Please learn to read more carefully next time👍
