Two under appreciated Nintendo gems I hope get some love: Mario Golf World Tour, and Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball. Both are smashing!

What the heck is Mad Age and This Guy? Some 2 cent game?

Was just hoping for a “Tennis Story” style sequel, and was pleasantly surprised by this. I hope they can nail the mechanics for so many sports!

@JunkRabbit On your actual point, I hadn’t connected it with Magnum PI, but now I can’t unsee! I wonder if that was really an inspiration for the devs? Would be so great if the theme was added to the game...

@Gwynbleidd Not sure if sale is still going on, but Best Buy had discounted the physical editions to $30. I picked up Planescape at that price!

Great article! I really appreciate the thoughtful analysis of what it takes to rerelease a retro title. I will keep supporting as many of these releases as I can...and I only hope I get the chance for Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch!

@nessisonett Are you saying some markets didn’t get London Life? I didn’t realize that, but maybe that explains why Last Specter is not higher. For me with the extra games, it was tops in the series.

I love super rare games, but they usually publish games that aren’t so high profile. Don’t like my chances of getting one of these copies...disappointed this is the route Image & Form went

@Dm9982 Totally agree. Ducktales and Chip N’Dale we’re far superior games, and I’m just confounded why the Saturday Morning Collection hasn’t been ported.

Also need to mention that absence of the Game Gear version of Aladdin from this collection is a shame. I don’t recall that game having a high difficulty (because Blockbuster didn’t carry Game Gear games maybe?), and some Prince of Persia like levels were great fun!

Watch out for a raging archaeologist: those games belong in a museum!

@Sabrewing Interesting, and thanks for the response! I really enjoyed the Prince of Persia-like levels, and so interesting that there were so many varied versions! I wonder if they might be future DLC?

Was the Game Gear version of Aladdin distinct from other versions? I remember loving that game, but can’t recall if it was a straight port. If it was a distinct version, I’d love it to be included as well!

Is the review’s subtitle linking this game to PS2’s Shattered Soldier? That’s really a disservice as Shattered Soldier was pretty great, unlike this one. I’ll never forget this one boss that was a giant worm, swimming in a vat of raw meat, and belching noxious gas. It was awesome!

Disappointed Konami hasn’t been able to move the franchise forward since. The retro releases have been the only good ones.

His comments on not wanting to just update the graphics of 2d contra are puzzling. There’s still plenty of room to do something new and creative there, see Contra 4 on DS.

I want to keep an open mind about this game, but it does not look promising...

Fantastic trilogy. The story telling is the real highlight. The branching choices really help the story to come alive and make the player feel an active part, and the art/music further draw you in. As the review notes, the battles aren't necessarily the highlight, but they're not bad.

Also, the trilogy is available for crazy cheap prices online, so it's an absolute steal as well!

I’m excited to play this game, but I’m shocked it’s getting a re-release before Wonderful 101...

Been hoping for a switch release so I will finally have a chance to play! What a great bundle of surprises in today’s direct!

@RupeeClock Yeah, you're likely right. I don't regret buying it, but I've given up even guessing when it might ship!

@RupeeClock I know LRG has made the decision to wait on printing the game until the final DLC is ready, but I interpret that to mean that the game was not ready for preorder, and LRG was premature to put it up in the first place.

@SCAssassin That’s optimistic, I’ve been waiting for my LRG copy of Celeste since January, and still not even an estimate for shipping...

After about 4 years, the paint on the rear faceplate of my New 3DS XL started coming off. Seems to be a known problem for the model, as Nintendo Support sells replacements for this model, and this model only. Not a major problem, but definitely a failing in Ns design.

I never liked the polished finish of this model anyway....
