Re: First Activision, Now EA? FIFA Publisher Is Tipped For Takeover

Love how consumer friendly gamepass is but how exactly dose it make them any money? Netflix has bad to raise its prices year after year to stay profitable and there production cost has to be less then making these AAA games microsoft throws on gamepass. Is it the plan to build a large sub base then raise the price? They cant make all the much off gamepass monthly then distribute shares of the profits across the various game devs that contribute that they don't own.

Re: Capcom Is Adding Screen Filters To The PC Version Of Monster Hunter Rise

@Specter_of-the_OLED its well known that Numbered series suffer a sales slump the higher the number it gets. People not willing to buy into a series late in its run afraid to be missing something.

So to avoid this issue instead of numbering the future Monster Hunter releases in the main line series they have turned to subtitling it instead. World is offically Monster Hunter 5 and Rise is officially 6. Numbered monster hunter will not return best your gonna get is maybe a World 2 but id put my money on that being subtitled different possibly with World still in the Title alongside a secondary title.

There hasn’t been a numbered monster hunter since 4 and we have seen them have a huge successful run with the subtitled runs that have followed with Generations selling well, World selling massively and Rise selling Very well too.

These are not spin offs (Stories was and Generations was considered a fan celebration spin off.) World and rise are the beginning of Modern Monster Hunter and with the success of both it would honestly be dumb to go back to the old school numbering system.

@QuickSilver88 think its a modified x1 they list it as x1+ and its a updated smaller chipset with better power demand output and less heat output. Makes sense why nintendo is waiting when you explain it this way on a switch pro or 2. Think they had originally planned on it for this year and had arranged for the oled screen production alongside the new chip set coming around the same time then all hell broke loose last year. Now Nintendo was faced with all these new screens still coming on time but no new system ready for them so the adapted and just put them on the original system and released it as the oled. Doubt will see the next system until the chipset supply issues are settled and they reveal the next gen chipset. Probably no earlier then 2023

Williamfuchs420

@YusseiWarrior3000 do you know your saying something thats five years old and was built with pretty much dated tech then is more powerful then pretty much state of the art chip sets? From pure power standpoint I guarantee most new phones are more powerful then the switch. But continue to make your fanboy arguments. Love my switch hell i got the oled but it’s honestly disingenuous and just kinda dumb to argue that its more powerful then the phones whose chipsets have advanced in the last five years the same chips that are used in tablets of witch the switch is a modified version of. The switch is literally built with a tablet chip set thats nearly 7 years old now one that has been advanced several times over since some of witch those very advanced sets are being used in modern phones

Those calling this a downgrade have a real rose tinted glasses thing going on. These look great i suggest re examination of your memory cause it’s definitely faulty if you think this is downgraded. Not as significant of a upgrade ill give you that but hell even without the visual being 100% equal to the other consoles the control upgrade and general polishing of the games makes this a upgrade in itself.

Re: Metroid Dread Report Volume 9 Outlines Some Tweaks To Key Features

Williamfuchs420

So i just had a thought. This game is launching on October 8th right? So why would Nintendo dropping the Smash final reveal on the same day? Why pull focus from there next big release like this? What if the final character is being announced on the same day as Dreads release because its tied together as marketing for both! Ie the final Smash character is

E.M.M.I

With the dread amiibo acting as its smash Amiibo as well

Re: Talking Point: The Switch Is Following Nintendo's Successful Portable Playbook

Williamfuchs420

@HalBailman my point is that the difference between a “pro” or a “2” will probably be moot. It’ll ultimately still be just a beefier Switch when they release it. Itll play all the same games ie bwc but have its own library as well. Though i could see Nintendo wanting to make even those games playable on the og models as well since they wont want to abandon that huge pool of possible purchases. Witch would effectively make it the pro even if it is a sequel.

The clean generation break model is a nearly dead one. Hell even look at the competition… most of the PS5 games are also released on PS4 making that generation break very muddy. I suspect so will the Switchs successors will also be.

Re: Talking Point: The Switch Is Following Nintendo's Successful Portable Playbook

Williamfuchs420

@johnvboy while its not completely common for Nintendo to do they did do it with the 3ds with the New 3ds model so there is precedent. While it will probably be the switch 2 or Super Switch (witch is the name i like most myself) it will be basically a upgraded switch all its existing library playable on it. But ya i agree itll be mostly a new gen version not really a pro upgrade with its own library that will be unplayable on the older models.

But who knows really its all just speculation at the moment. Doubt Nintendo would be dumb and create a next generation that isn't completely backwards compatible with the switch library though.

Re: Talking Point: The Switch Is Following Nintendo's Successful Portable Playbook

Williamfuchs420

@johnvboy its not a delusion its probably not coming like anytime soon like so many want but there will be one. Thinking Nintendo won’t release a new improved switch is delusional itself what there gonna stick with this model and its limited power forever? Nintendo has a console life span of 6-9 years max and has released a new one within that timeframe every generation and we are going on the 6th year of the switch.

I understand your attitude though cause so many have predicted its arrival over and over for like the last three years now. But I guarantee you there will be some sort of one sooner rather then later my guess purely a guess is its 2022 or 23 and they might have it already ready just waiting for the chip set cost to go down and supply to stabilize. My theory is this oled model was originally gonna be the pro but chip set issues disrupted that plan but they had already purchased and ordered the oled screens in mass so they decided to use them and release this slight upgrade. Surprised honestly they didn’t just put them on a modified lite though wouldn’t be shocked if a oled lite model follows next year since the chip shortage is expected to continue until next fall.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise Adds Mega Man's Rush In New Collab

Williamfuchs420

@Rhio2k think there saving everything for the expansion dlc. They said from the beginning they where treating this game as a complete game minus the content they where late for (the ending) not a service game like World. People rushed through the game thinking it was gonna be like world with constant added monsters for a year and not like older games where they gave dlc challenges and collaborations. Still got several hundred hours of play time and will get more when they release the expansion.

Re: Review: Ultra Age - Surprisingly Satisfying Devil May Cry-Style Hack-And-Slash Action

Williamfuchs420

@Dirty0814 the issue i have is that people are ignoring the cost of development. How are these small indie devs supposed to sustain themselves at that price point? 30$ seems plenty reasonable hell i grew up in a time when there was no budget gaming if you wanted a game you paid the same 40-60$ as any other game (the price margin is so wide based on system and time think gb games where typically 40$ some of the earlier nintedo console games where 50 and then 60 became the norm) so getting cheaper titles is nice. Plus this game is what a ten plus hour game 3$ a hour of entertainment isn’t bad where else are you gonna get that deal not movies not really anywhere. Im gonna get it myself when i get paid just to support the creative new indie devs.
