Re: Video: The Joy-Con Bundled With The Switch Revision Are Slightly Different

Tsusasi

@electrolite77 not even remotely true. Doing stress tests without actually viewing what's going on inside and tracking the wear vs a Joy Con of eary run tells yoi far more that copying and pasting some dude opening ine and scraping it with a pointy stick. It's called journalism and research. If they just took it apart, yes. But that's not at all what I'm saying. Spawn Wave stopped short of any real research. It's just opening it up. And there was more that could have been described. I had questions about the build. NL could have done a far more thorough play by play, far more in depth and then done stress tests involving opening them up to track wear and tear of each and compare. THAT would be useful, insteas of just shugging and copying and pasting.

Re: Video: The Joy-Con Bundled With The Switch Revision Are Slightly Different

Tsusasi

@electrolite77 because then it wouldn't be 3rd hand heresay and would be far more informative and easier to describe, discuss and perform specific exploration instead of regurgitating and interpreting the words of others. And what about doing actual stress tests instead of scraping with a sharp object? Do real world wear and tear and track the effects. That is why.

Re: The Grandia HD Collection Arrives Next Week On The Switch eShop

Tsusasi

@Moroboshi876 '"We want to be clear, the GRANDIA HD Collection are not ports of the original PlayStation games, they are remasters. We are using the original PlayStation code of GRANDIA, but working with the Sega Saturn version to craft the definitive version of this beloved RPG."

After we asked if GungHo could offer more clarification, GungHo replied:

The team is primarily using the Saturn version as a reference point, working to match details and effects from that version of the game.'

Re: The Grandia HD Collection Arrives Next Week On The Switch eShop

Tsusasi

@brandonbwii from an interview in another site (at E3): 'Finally, I asked Mr. Minagawa if a Grandia III HD Remaster could be a future possibility. "I cannot say," he replied. "The history with Grandia III is so complicated - who distributed it, who published it, who actually has the rights. If you really want to ask that question, you'd have to go ask Game Arts first."

Re: The Grandia HD Collection Arrives Next Week On The Switch eShop

Tsusasi

@brandonbwii I mean, the Saturn version it never left Japan, so I'm not sure which you're referring to. If you mean a fan translation, I would imagine so. If you mean the SONY localization for the PS1, probably. It was really the only glaring issue w the game, outside of minor framerate and visual effects issues vs the superior Saturn version. Well, that and the voice acting. Can't imagine it wouldn't be updated. I've read that it will include both Japanese and English soundtracks and language. And German and French, which I don't believe the original ports had. So I think there's a decent chance it's been updated.

Re: Crash Team Racing Will Soon Allow Players To Buy Wumpa Coins With Real Money

Tsusasi

@Galarian_Lassie So this does bother me. While they are offering a lot of free content going forward (which is awesome), I really wish they hadn't lied about microtransactions.

If they had updated everyone before launch that this would be a thing, not effect gameplay and then not throttle coins in-game, I'd have no problem with it. It's optional and doesn't give players any gameplay advantage. And they make a little money. No big deal.

But to state up front that there wouldn't be any, period... and now this after people have already purchased the game and have experienced slow coin collecting. That's shady.

Re: Hardware Review: The EON Super 64 Gives Your N64 HDMI Output, But Is It Really Worth $150?

Tsusasi

I'm sorry, but get the hell out of here with that $150 price tag. What the actual hell? I can't wait for someone to break out/source the component prices so we know how much this costs to manufacture. $150... get bent. Just pick up a Retrotink 2X for $50 less... a bit of tech that actually does this right and has more functionality. Or at that price point, learn how to/get some help with the proper mod that does go right to the digital signal before it's converted to analogue for output. Then you get real 480.

Re: Rewind Feature And Two NES Games Are Coming To Nintendo Switch Online In July

Tsusasi

This is absolute bs. Another month of complete crap. Meanwhile, I might pay more for my other online services, but I get pretty amazing games for my money. AND specials, sales and discounts... some of which have been pretty damn good. AND proper grown up communications. Nintendo should be embarrassed... but they won't be. They're far too arrogant.

Re: Looks Like RetroBit's 6-Button Pad Will Be Essential For The Mega Drive Mini

Tsusasi

@impurekind I got SF at launch and played for about a week w the 3 button. It was not at all fun. And yes... people are annoyed. And they should be. There are at least 4 games that use the 6 button on the mini so far. And even for those that don't, the 6 button is a far superior build with better grip and feel and better d-pad. So regardless of how much you enjoy the hobbled gameplay of SF on the 3 button, we are in all regards getting the inferior gamepad... and SEGA hasn't bothered to give their reasoning for screwing everyone outside of Japan. Why even create additional tooling/production line for the 3 button when the 6 button is already a thing? It makes no sense.

Re: Looks Like RetroBit 6-Button Pad Will Be Essential For The Mega Drive Mini

Tsusasi

Yeah. 3 button controller for outside of Japan is a real bad move. 6 button was better in every way possible and now with a SF game on board, it's worse. If the 6 button wasn't a thing at all, it's just a misstep. But with Japan being the only region getting it, it's a deliberate meanie move... probably to set up sales of the 'official' 6 button later. Just couldn't make it a perfect offering, could you SEGA. Had to f it up a little for tradition/old time's sake.

Re: Random: 23,000 Fans Petitioned To Get Reggie A New Chair, And It Worked

Tsusasi

Ridiculous, stupid, sad, pathetic. So many people in actual need and this is what passes for charity... this is where time and energy is spent. Kinda sickening. Reggie is sitting on a throne of cash after floating down on a 'golden umbrella'. How about a donation in his name to one of the many groups who use video games to fundraise for great causes?

Re: Video: Highlights From The Midwest Gaming Classic

Tsusasi

@NintendoByNature This was my second year. I live in Rock county, so it's about an hour and a half... totally worth it. I come for the weekend and get the VIG Badge (Which this year was an actually working NES cartridge with a game created just for the show) which gives you Friday preview access, Saturday and Sunday and the after party. At the after party I got to meet and hang with Ernie Hudson, Daniel Pessina (He is the actor who played Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, and Noob Saibot and helped create Mortal Kombat & Mortal Kombat II), Philip Ahn (Shang Tsung), Anthony Marquez (Kung Lao). Howard Lincoln was at the show. At the after party, we got to play the Nintendo Playstation! So much more and so worth the price of entry. We danced and did karaoke/lip sync with Anthony Marquez. Johnny Gioeli of Crush 40 performed music they had written for some of the Sonic games. So much fun.

Re: Evercade Is A Brand New Cartridge-Based Handheld Console Which Connects To Your TV

Tsusasi

We have the Switch, Wii, Wii U, SNES Classic, NES Classic, Genesis Mini, Mega Sg and all of it's SEGA system adaptors, Super Nt, a plethora of emulator systems and more on the way, Raspberry PIs... and even the Playstation classic to load up. PSPs and Vitas loaded with roms and emulators, DSs and 3DSs ready to load up... and this is a good idea? And a true rival? What an absolute joke. And that goes for this 'news' piece as well.

Thanks for the click bait crap article. Good times.

Re: Octopath Traveler's Switch Exclusivity Might Be Coming To An End

Tsusasi

Most 3rd party 'exclusives' are timed anyway. The window of exclusivity a) served its purpose and hyped the system and helped it fill a niche (jrpgs) early on and 2) still seems to include other consoles. A PC release has no impact on the Switch's image or sales of the game, let alone a Korean release. The only reason I can see this being up in article form is that it was a really slow news day.

Re: 3DClouds Responds To Criticism Of The Switch Version Of Xenon Racer

Tsusasi

Sub 30fps is a joke, especially when games like Fast RMX hit 60fps @1080p and kicks ass in both the gameplay and graphics department. This is a dishonest and possibly actionable illegal advertising/business practice; it's an outright lie of a video. I don't know how anyone here is praising them for double patching a game that then still doesn't even hit 30fps in 2019. They knew what they were doing when they put that video up. This is crap. There are so many great games and honest developers on this system that giving these ppl money is a damn shame.

Re: Review: Cattails - A Heart-Warming Feline Adventure With Bloodthirsty Turf Wars

Tsusasi

@mince0 Welp, you'd be wrong. I actual met the developers a while back, interviewed half of the husband and wife team (talked with the other off camera) and got to play a lot of their game. After spending time with both the game and the developers (learning of its genesis and the influences for the game) I can tell you that if you are a fan of games like Animal Crossing or even better, a Harvest Moon aficionado, an 8 out of 10 is definitely deserved. If you're not a fan of either or the genre, this game may not feel like 8/10.

Re: Nintendo Adds Trio Of Games To Switch Online NES Library Next Week

Tsusasi

@3rdParty I get pretty awesome free games from the other companies. The games are a far better value. They really are. Far better than the triple/quadruple dip offerings that Nintendo is foisting on people who have already purchased them... and then patting themselves on the back for offering as a perk. Also, Nintendo has cloud saves behind a paywall. That's just greedy and ignorant and anti-consumer.

Re: Tokyo's Unofficial Mario Kart Service Continues To Dress Up Riders After Nintendo Wins Lawsuit

Tsusasi

@Snow-Dust If it's just a local business, I'd negotiate. Up to a certain amount of profit, I'd let them make their money. Past that, I'd ask for a percentage. I'd let them continue provided they clean up their business practices and require proof at regular intervals. Also, I'd require them to post the nature of business relationship. And if whatever game I produced gets me Nintendo sized paydays, I wouldn't begrudge someone making a buck.

Re: Tokyo's Unofficial Mario Kart Service Continues To Dress Up Riders After Nintendo Wins Lawsuit

Tsusasi

@Aozz101x There are always crashes where go karts are concerned. Better regulated maybe? This is more of a matter for police/local authorities. If they are really that bad, they should/would be shut down. When I was there a few weeks ago, I couldn't ride because I didn't have an 'international driver's license' (a bit of a scam on the part of people like AAA, who is authorized to issue them... for a fee).
