Re: First-Person Buddy Cop Shooter RICO Shoots Its Way To Switch Next Week

Tisteg80

First thought: Oh, this could be the great coop shooter Payday 2 unfortunately wasn't.

And then: Procedural levels. Download from the eShop. Okay, I'll pass.

It would be awesome if Microsoft would bring the first Crackdown on Switch. This would be a day one purchase for me and I'd buy a second one too for playing it in local multiplayer. Would be so much easier than setting up my Xbox 360's.

Re: Review: LEGO Harry Potter Collection - A Wizarding Wonder That's Only Just Beginning To Show Its Age

Tisteg80

They should better give us some patches for LEGO City Undercover on Switch. The loading times are still horrible compared to the PS4 version (or most other games on Switch). And objects should become visible a lot earlier.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on Switch also doesn't run very smooth. It's playable, yes, but that's all.

They could re-release LEGO Dimensions. Maybe with a digital figurine shop just like Starlink: Battle for Atlas did. Other that that I don't need any more LEGO games. I have enough of the gameplay and stuff.

Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

Tisteg80

I hate these reviews without a score. Please do never ever change your system!

If someone only takes a look at the review score and the last few sentences, it's okay! It's completely up to them. Let the reader decide.

We need review scores to compare all these games out there. Someone who has not enough money and needs to decide which game to buy should be able to use the scores (maybe via Metacritic) as a quick guideline.

Re: Blizzard's StarCraft Series Unlikely To Be Released On Nintendo Switch

Tisteg80

@Razer
That's why I wrote "consoles". I would love to get a classic style RTS on a console which plays just fine. Even with the looks of a C&C Red Alert.

The biggest problem with RTS on console is the game's speed IMO. C&C 3 on Xbox 360 was not my cup of tea. The demo felt like it was a straight PC port and therefore I never had the feeling of being able to handle all the stuff that needs to be done fast. But on PS1 with C&C 1 and Red Alert it worked pretty well because it had a slower speed. So I think a C&C "The early years" collection on Switch would be awesome! We loved to play Red Alert on two PS1's connected with a link cable. It was too much for the poor console which first got pretty hot and then it slowed down so badly that it was nearly unplayable. Too much pixel soldiers and tanks on the screen with two players doing their best to defeat the common enemy.

All I want to say is that I miss these times and I would be glad if a big company like Blizzard would bring a cool RTS game to Switch or other consoles.

Re: Blizzard's StarCraft Series Unlikely To Be Released On Nintendo Switch

Tisteg80

If you have to change the gameplay... then change the gameplay! I want some good old RTS on my console. Of course it needs to be changed. But with the slower speed C&C on PS1 worked pretty well.

If we're talking about an modern attempt take Halo Wars for example. RTS on consoles works! You just have to change things or build it from the ground up with a console in mind.

Re: Review: Pocket Rumble (Switch eShop)

Tisteg80

Great. Now that I bought Garou: Mark of the Wolves two days ago and find it quite hard to get into it. No Training mode, opponents fire their combos onto me and I don't know what I'm doing at all.

Re: Review: Super Chariot (Switch)

Tisteg80

I bought it today and at first my brigde was not found. After typing in the right IP adress it worked perfectly.
Now I played the first level and I really like it. I use a Lightstrip behind my TV and two Go lamps behind our couch on a Highboard. So far it's really nice how the lights react to things happening in the game like collecting gems or reaching checkpoints.
I also began to change the position of my Go lamps which is no problem at all since they can be used wireless. Maybe I can get even more out of it by placing them left and right of me or shining towards the left and right side of the TV.
Why can't be more games out there using that feature? Minecraft would be so cool with Hue support.

Re: Review: Super Chariot (Switch)

Tisteg80

And now Philips Hue becomes Signify. With a new version of the app and a new Bridge firmware.

I wonder if Super Chariot will still work with the lights after the changes are complete.

Re: Review: Super Chariot (Switch)

Tisteg80

Finally there is a review. But... What about that Philips Hue feature? No word on that!? This is so unique. And I would love to see Alex showing it in a video. (How) Does it work?

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

Tisteg80

Well, I bought it (in Germany). And if there hasn't been a Switch version I wouldn't have bought another version of the game. Usually I don't play FIFA that much. But for me it's the right time and the right place/console.

Unfortunately we have stock problems here in Germany with duty causing a delay of 1 week. Only one retailer sold his limited stock. So I expect bad sales numbers here in Germany as well. I guess a lot of people rather bought another version of the game instead of wait another week to get it on Switch.

Here's hoping that EA puts that in the right context.

Re: WWE 2K18 Looks Set to be the Real Deal on Nintendo Switch

Tisteg80

@Gerbwmu I think the grappling system is pretty good, actually. I loved the N64 games for their gameplay. But then I played WWE 2K17 on Xbox One and when I checked No Mercy on the N64 it really felt very old in comparison. 2K17 wasn't perfect. But it was a modern wrestling game with a lot of great features and I liked it.

Re: Review: Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

Tisteg80

Alright, folks, local play and 720p resolution is officially confirmed!

"But of course, being for the versatile Switch, this version lets you play with your friends in all manner of ways: get together online for some eight-player action, eight-player local play (if everyone has a Switch) or squeeze four of you onto a couch to play splitscreen in front of the TV on a lone console. Some other blighted family member hogging the TV? Flip out the Switch’s kickstand and play in tabletop mode! That supports four-player splitscreen, too, with players wielding either Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller.

Then, after you’re done, click the kickstand back in and take your creations with you to play wherever you go. Play on the bus! Play in bed! Play it while backflipping off the head of a Goomba to slide elegantly down the full length of a flag pole! (Not advised.) It’ll run at a smooth 60fps and 720p resolution across all modes and play types, whether you’re playing on your TV or in handheld mode."

Re: Review: Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

Tisteg80

@sillygostly
I know that but with local multiplayer they could mean splitscreen. 2 to 4 player splitscreen is possible with the Switch docked and undocked. So it's no confirmation.

Does anyone know more about that?

And as I read in a forum it seems that locked 60 fps is not true. It has serious framerate drops in the jungle and when it rains, just like the Wii U version. I am very disappointed about that.
I will still buy it though.

Re: Review: Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

Tisteg80

@SwitchVogel
Is it possible to play via local WiFi? For example two players with their own Switch and Minecraft version. Like the Ad hoc mode on PS Vita.

I don't think I'll pay twice for Nintendo's online play later this year just for playing Minecraft with my wife without the use of splitscreen.

Re: Guide: Essential Nintendo Switch Accessories

Tisteg80

I don't need this JoyCon charging grip. All I need is a long USB-C cable (perhaps 2 meters) and my USB charger from my mobile phone. Then I can play on the couch, plug in the cable and my Switch and the attached JoyCons get charged while playing.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version Of Skylanders Imaginators Doesn't Support Traps Or Vehicles

Tisteg80

@DanteSolablood I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be possible to have that vehicles and racing part in the Switch version. Look at the 3DS version of Skylanders SuperChargers. It comes with a portal to read in all your Skylanders and vehicles and than you can use them on the go without having to scan them again. It's a feature that has been used already and it worked just fine.

Re: Talking Point: Is the Nintendo Switch a Handheld or Console? Does it Matter?

Tisteg80

In a perfect world the Switch would be as strong as its competitors, with a battery that lasts 20-30 hours. That would be awesome! And it would be even more awesome if time would stand still a few years for Microsoft and Sony, so that they would not go on with even more hardware power. Wouldn't it be great if they would decide "Yeah, Switch power is enough, we don't need better graphics that that in our next console". Than everyone would get equal multiplattform games.

Well, I'm just dreaming a bit...

Reality is that Switch will get watered down ports which come too late and cost too much. While it's nice to play the same games at home and on the go, it has still just Wii U graphics or maybe slightly better.

Is that enough to have fun? Sure! Will we get great first party games? Absolutely!

But most people don't think so and I think the Switch will struggle just like Wii U did.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Favourite Mini NES Games?

Tisteg80

Too much votes for Metroid in my opinion. When I bought and played it on 3DS a few years ago (my first contact with the series should be the first game, I thought), it turned out to be absolutely annoying. All that backtracking, all the same-looking rooms, so much respawning creatures and their unfair behavior. I was born in 1980 and play since the end of that decade but Metroid is one of my disappointments.

And now I read the review for Axiom Verge and I think that would disappoint me, too. Even if Nintendolife gave it a 10/10. That old Metroid affected me too much, I guess.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Tisteg80

@EVIL-C Ah, I see. Thanks! But the question is how the game scales the opponents. With only two players it is obvious that you can play every possible role like healer, damage dealer and so on. Are the missions harder with only two players?

Re: Nordic Games Rebrands With a Touch of THQ and Talks Up Future Projects

Tisteg80

All I want is a wrestling game like the ones that had been published by THQ.

Something like WWF Wrestlemania 2000, on Wii U, that would have been awesome. Even if it were without WWE license, more like Fire Pro Wrestling.

They could have done such great things with the gamepad. Player 1 as a wrestler on the TV screen, Player 2 as his manager on the gamepad, interfering in his matches or booking the next matches or something.

Re: Review: Terraria (Wii U eShop / Wii U)

Tisteg80

Thanks for the review, even if it's a bit short. One major point didn't get adressed: A feature the developer promised to deliver on Wii U - local co-op play using the gamepad while the second player plays on the TV, using another controller.

The developer delivered indeed. It's possible to play Terraria this way even if it's not without some smaller problems. One problem is the set-up. I tested it a few days ago and found it annoying that I had to create a character "on" both controllers. It seems to be easier and better if one player is always using the gamepad, launches the game and loads his world and Player 2 is always joining via Pro Controller for example. Doing it the other way around? Bad idea, you need to create new characters.

Problem no. 2 is that the player using a Pro Controller and playing on TV doesn't have the whole TV screen for himself. It's still splitscreen on the TV, which means that the gameplay itself is going on on the upper half of the screen and on the lower half you see a map and some PVP options and elements. I didn't find a way to maximize the gameplay screen which really annoyed me. Why should the gamepad player use his screen for himself when the TV player doesn't benefit from that?

Good point is: Both players can zoom in and out which is nice.

Re: Splatoon's Last Splatfest is Next Month

Tisteg80

I'm very sad that they won't be doing splatfests anymore. I didn't participate in each and every one of them but I like the idea of a weekend here and there, where many players go online.

Hopefully the game will still be played by many gamers in the next months or even years. When I bought it, I knew that someday the plug will be pulled. But I hope that won't be until 2018.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th June (Europe)

Tisteg80

I will buy the disc version of Terraria for Wii U, that's for sure. And maybe The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, too. I'll wait for the review on Nintendolife. Too bad that the predecessor isn't included. I don't know both games so that's a missed opportunity.
