Re: Dead Cells Huge 'Enter The Panchaku' Update Finally Arrives On Switch Today

Tangerine

@Fath That's fair enough. Personally I buy digitally and physically if it's a collectors edition. I'll usually play/complete it digitally then if I like it and there's a limited edition version I'll try and get it and leave it unopened. I'm thinking long term investments in that regard. These days I'm 50/50 whether the world will implode so who knows what the future holds. I realise not everyone is in a position to buy two copies of games. It's only games I like or think will be worth the price to add to collection. Been 5 or 6 years. Only switch and some standard 3DS physical games. Not been doing this for too long I guess.

Re: Dead Cells Huge 'Enter The Panchaku' Update Finally Arrives On Switch Today

Tangerine

I never got it because it annoys me they released the prisoner edition special edition physical...when the game is still receiveing updates and thus is nowhere near finished. I guess I just want competed finished games to get the special edition physical releases... Like Celeste did. They waited months and months to get the farewell last update on the cartridge at limited run games.

I did get that...and feel like I have the complete/final version, which is nice!

Re: Nintendo Direct Zelda Announcement Rumours Intensify

Tangerine

I don't think it should be delayed. I'm British, definitely not a royalist. But even my mother and I felt sad yesterday when we heard the news. Other than her wealth she didn't have a whole lot of power Vs parliament, but she was a British institution. On TV every Christmas (not that I ever watched more than a few of her Xmas speeches) she's on all our money and stamps. She's been around my whole life and I feel sorry for her family, even though I feel the whole institution should have been abolished years ago personally. I can't help but think what my 86 year old granny thinks when she heard the news too. End of an era...whatever one thinks of the legitimacy of that era. King of England doesn't feel right. Maybe now it should be abolished? Meh... Still want Zelda news on time mind you.

People be so desperate to self insert or insert on behalf of others; onto a fictional game character. Japan isn't the same as Europe/USA/Canada/Australia. They haven't gone down the non binary rabbit hole. Thankfully. Let's see if I'm entitled to my opinion on here, on this topic. The comments are open, probs not for much longer.

Re: Introducing 'RoTATE' - A New Desktop Stand & Kickstarter Project For Switch

Tangerine

@PessitheMystic Hah. It's fine! I heard less than 1% of Netflix users have tried Netflix Games so that doesn't surprise me!

They have moonlighter and into the breach and Exploding kittens on there too! Plus a bunch of smaller titles. I'm not a big mobile gamer but I checked out a couple titles.

They either bought or invested in cloud gaming recently, so it looks like they want to add games right on the netflix app for TVs etc. Could be interesting, but perhaps it will flop like the current mobile gaming section seems to have.

I wonder if they could pull it off because of their current install base... Youd need a controller and a good internet connection like stadia I guess.

They have purchased 3 gaming studios so far too.

"Netflix has added another game developer to its ranks. The company announced that it has acquired Boss Fight Entertainment, a mobile studio based in Texas. It’s the third game studio that Netflix has scooped up following Oxenfree developer Night School and Next Games, the team behind a Stranger Things puzzle game."

So they are trying pretty hard I'd say. But yeah I dunno how successful any of it will be ultimately!

Re: Introducing 'RoTATE' - A New Desktop Stand & Kickstarter Project For Switch

Tangerine

They should have shown Downwell being played vertically. It's a neat looking product from the video. Not sure how much use I'd get out of it though.

Oh if anyone has netflix 4K (with the mobile gaming addition) check out Poinpy. It's exclusive to netflix gaming and it's by the same dev who made Downwell. Highly recommend it! Addictive gameplay. I wish it would come to Switch although I suppose it's built for mobile and the touch controls work great.

Honestly the most fun I've had gaming on my phone. No microtransactions or adverts either:]

Re: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Scheduled Maintenance Spotted

Tangerine

@FatWormBlowsASparky That's one interpretation. Another far more likely is 'big company' is scared of potential backlash by the perpetually offended who we shouldn't give an inch to, because they will never be placated. If you think huge global companies are noble, moral entities, I don't know what to tell you. Believe what ever you wish though. I know I will continue to think it's a hugely pointless endeavour to delay this cartoony tactics war GAME due to world events.

Re: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Scheduled Maintenance Spotted

Tangerine

I'm sure this is a non issue. I'd be surprised if this wasn't exacerbated though, by delaying it on presumably ethical grounds then still releasing it during the war ultimately anyway; if indeed this rumor is true.

I can't imagine more people would have been offended by releasing this game on time; than those annoyed/disappointed/put out by this delay and I frankly don't care about people being offended over everything these days. Yes I'm being hyperbolic but still.

Re: Backlog Club: Hollow Knight Does Things That Other Games Wouldn't. That's Why It's So Good

Tangerine

My very short review for the physical when it released in the UK:

An absolutely brilliant game:

Without doubt, one of my favourite games of all time. A vast, atmospheric, detailed world to explore. Lots of secrets, different abilities and upgrades to discover. Plenty of challenging platforming and a huge variety of enemies and bosses, requiring skill and often persistence to defeat. The story is deep and cryptic and the characters you meet are unique and interesting. I love the art style, the haunting music and the sense of progression, as you come to learn the worldmap and master the enemies and controls. Not to mention all the DLC is included, adding countless more hours of gameplay to an already large game. Team Cherry have lovingly crafted an intricate, expansive world with it's own distinctive and intriguing aesthetic and lore. A true masterpiece and a must play! I can't wait for the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Has Now Sold Over 3 Million Units Worldwide

Tangerine

@NDragon1412 It's a bad habit I've got. But I do still play the games. If it's a regular game I'll open it if I want to play it. I'll get a regular physical along with a special edition to open and play instead. But I've never opened a limited/special edition. You are right of course...for all I know one or more are missing one or more items. I may never know! Unless I'm forced to sell on eBay for money and they open it and find out.

If it's a game £25 or less (so typically Indies) I wait for it to go on sale digitally and then buy it and add to digital backlog...but I'll buy it physically too, at full price on release and leave it sealed.

If it's a Nintendo game I haven't got round to opening/playing yet, I'll open the cellophane no problem, to play it. Can't afford all of those digitally and physically! I don't know how odd my behaviour is... Probably a bit!? I know you are joking (I don't have an ego big enough to be bruised online from your pretty fair/respectful post to be honest!) but as you say there's often a grain of truth to a joke! I get where you are coming from for sure and this was way longer a response than intended

Re: Where To Pre-Order Bayonetta 3 On Switch

Tangerine

@Hewitt @RupeeClock Probably not long now considering xenoblades release date... But there's been known issues with the special edition for ages, annoyingly. You may be aware. Production line issues for some items is why they are splitting it up and sending the game out first, then the rest of the special edition xenoblade pack out later as a separate shipment. Poor UK. As a collector, it's all a pain tbh.

Edit: and this is all before the potential chaos of trying to nab one!

Kaze and the wild masks (well reviewed 2D donkey Kong country type game with great platforming and was well reviewed (8 or 9 out of 10 on Nintendo Life I believe.)

Well I found it on like page 40 of the deals on the eshop? So... easy to miss. It's finally £9 down from like £27 it launched at.

I picked that up. You should too! :]

Re: Ori Developer Moon Studios Labelled "Oppressive" Workplace In New Report

Tangerine

Remember we don't know for sure how true this is, or how many of the accusations have merit. Not saying it's not true, just I'm sure there exists many people out there that have a victim complex and or are overly sensitive; and with the current culture we see emerging people can be easily manipulated imo, to feel and think a certain way and feelings certainly aren't known for always reflecting reality accurately.

Again, I don't know the truth of the matter. I don't know the people involved and I don't know their personality types/moral character etc etc. But I don't take every accusation against a company as gospel. People lie, embellish the truth, are flawed, act entitled, can misinterpret things... As well as obviously having the capacity for being honest/telling the truth about things.

I guess I'm cynical about a lot I read in the news these days.

Who really knows the validity of these accusations outside of the people directly involved?

So I won't condem the studio based on this but If it is true obviously it's disappointing to hear

Re: Review: Death's Door - Much More Than The Sum Of Its Zelda And Soulslike Parts

Tangerine

I hope it doesn't need patching AT ALL for performance or bug fixes, because to be releasing physically right off the bat on switch and ps5 through Special Reserve Games; is nice and all; so long as the release doesn't suffer because of it. It would be nice to have a decent working version of the amazing series X release, pressed to switch cartridge to be preserved for all time.

Re: Yay! Town Ordinances Are Finally Making A Return To Animal Crossing

Tangerine

I won't pretend to know what happened behind the scenes; but just because there was code for game features that were missing, in the game from the start, doesn't necessarily mean it was in there and stripped out...right?

It COULD just be it was always planned, but not ready/not created at the time the game launched?

Isn't it a pretty big assumption to say for sure it was stripped out? Implying it was all complete and they could have effectively launched the game at version 2.0 when it initially launched?

Whether or not one believes the base game contained enough content to be worth the money at launch is open to interpretation I guess?

Re: Hands On: Streets Of Rage 4's Mr. X Nightmare DLC Is A Dreamy Add-On

Tangerine

@HamatoYoshi You positive? A new UK physical game version with this dlc included is coming out soon. I was worried that if it was a game bug, it would be too late for them to change it in time and the cartridge would ship with this bugged game version on it, needing a day one patch to fix.

If it's just an eshop bug then I guess/hope everything is fine with the new physical release.

Re: No More Heroes III Now Has A Collector's Edition And Deluxe Edition

Tangerine

I managed to get the more expensive one. It took 30 minutes. Each page load was like 4 minutes and lots of refreshing/reloading. I was actually shocked when I received both PayPal and their websites order confirmation emails. I made sure to sign up to their website early, and set my delivery address up early in preparation too. Maybe that's what swung it for me? I was logged in ready at 4pm and resisted refreshing from impatience. If it was slowly loading, I just let it load for 4 mins each step.

Nothing is guaranteed till I receive it in the post mind you. I have to hope that it doesn't get refunded/canceled like Nintendo UK store did to a bunch of people (myself included) with 2 of the monster hunter stories 2 amiibos. That was incredibly annoying and a £5 voucher for an apology was worthless in my opinion since they charge £5-£10 extra for games vs other cheaper online UK game stores. End of rant!

Anyone else get lucky and get a copy ordered?
