Snuck into today's Nintendo Direct in a little medley of games was the surprise announcement that GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is available now on Switch eShop. Yep, it's there right now as you read this!
First revealed back in April last year, the game — developed by indie outfit GuruGuru — is a remake of a 1987 Famicom title that never saw the light of day outside Japan. This remake hit Early Access on Steam back in May last year but the self-described "roguevania 2D action" title is available now on Switch for princely sum of $24.99.
We have to say it's a bit of a looker! Let us know below if you plan on picking this up, or if you've played the game on Steam already.

Fantastic, glad it's a good full remake and not just a straight port. I will definitely pick it up once it goes for sale.
do the animations feel slow to anyone else? dig the artstyle though, looking like it plays like dead cells in a weird way
Really eye-catching stuff in the Direct presentation. Definite wishlister/wait for physical.
Looks great. Reminds me a bit of Muramasa.
Considering getting this later today
@Specter_of-the_OLED original game is also on Switch too via deluxe edition
getting an eshop card today.
@nintendolife
review this plz
@OldManHermit - All I need is a whiff of Muramasa and I’m interested. This one definitely has it, been looking forward to it since last spring, but I have a bit too much on my gaming plate at the moment to dive in.
Oooo. Wishlisted.
wow. On the list.
I want this one!
Got confused and thought for a sec it was that appleplay game from Platinum, been looking forward to this one.
I was hoping for a release date for this game. I got even better
I'll add it to the watch list and wait for at least a 50% discount. Too many other games to play!
My wallet says this one come after a sale.
@moodycat Git Gud noob.
I'm only messing I can relate to some extent. Elden ring will be my first game by from soft and I'm worried!
@moodycat Nice. I completed hollow knight but not the true ending/boss. So arguably I didn't complete it? It is one of my favourite games so I need to go back to it and I can't wait for silk song. I've never owned a Sony console, but Horizon FW looks great Hope you enjoy!
This looks ace! I would buy it today, but I'm hoping for a physical version.
Post-90s-KONAMI, so I'll wait for Reviews on this.
@Gwynbleidd it was announced in a Direct, either you haven't been following the news for a game you were interested in or you've been hoping for a full remaster of a game for the last 30 years.
Looks absolutely stunning reminds me of "Dead Cells x Cuphead"
Hoping LRG does a physical for this like they have for other Konami releases.
@anoyonmus "original game is also on Switch too via deluxe edition"
Great tip thank you! I've heard people say the original is a Japanese-exclusive classic. So even if the new game isn't great, I'm happy to play the original.
@somebread this is exactly what I thought feels like a stiff / slower version of dead cells. If it ends up being 1/2 as good as I’ll be happy tho
@MontyCircus I am gonna be honest, I thought this would only be for PC users as they had early access and they also got the original too but looks like Switch owners are joining the fun.
If this reviews well on Switch, then I am sure to be getting this then. I think I will take the deluxe edition since it’s about 35 dollars which isn’t bad for what you are gettting imo. Art book, the original NES game, GetsuFumaDen Undying Moon and who knows what else.
Just a reminder. The NES game is only in Japanese!!!!
Really like the look of this. Looking forward to a review soon and if it’s a 7/10 or better then a physical release would be 👌
Totally getting this if it gets a proper game card release!
