@carlos82 I mean the writing seems to be on the wall already. A lot of stores are selling out allocated pre orders so I’m pretty sure few retail copies will be around at launch. The only thing we don’t know is if Nintendo will be making more waves of physical copies. Even if they are, the game will sell at their expectations BECAUSE of the limited banner. Both digitally and physically so I don’t think that’s too much of an issue
@carlos82 you’d be surprised. If it’s really limited most of these pre orders are finite and once the stores get them in and any non pre order in store copies dry up it’ll start getting expensive. A lot of Japanese products roll Out like that.
@neogyo the only headline I saw was this one. I only read about the data mining in this article. I literally didn’t know until right now and just said something about it.
@meowmeowkins I’m not sure what your deal is but no ones hating on the game, I just thought it was a shame that dataminers had to ruin the collab announcement , something I had no idea about before I clicked on this article. But also you can’t tell someone “don’t click if you dislike it” then also make a post disliking the collab. You can’t make that make sense.
You have 0 reason to be attacking me in comments so go sit down somewhere like I said.
@MeowMeowKins first of all that’s impossible because I had to click on the article to even know about the data mine part, so your argument made no sense and was foolish. What are you pro data miner or something? Go sit down.
Then To be even more foolish your own comments are whining about how it’s a dumb collab, which was not only wrong because kids who play sonic also play free games by default and aren’t as dumb as you think they are, but also no one asked for your commentary either.
Ehhh I dunno I’ll wait for some long term reviews. it’s like so many third party items have good ideas and features but end up looking and/or feeling cheap in some way compared to Nintendo’s more expensive oem products. It’s almost like you get what you pay for....
It’s about time. Not only were the rates extremely low, but they were sending in game messages saying “have you caught a deino yet” and it was nowhere to be found. Some people were hatching 20-50 eggs and getting nothing, yet the game suggested it was available at a moderate rate and not being as rare as it was.
I’m sorry bro but you’re on your own here. I’m not advocating for playing on super hardcore all the time but if your playing Certain stuff on easy your missing the experience. I’d rather just not play.
@Anti-Matter animal crossing Has always been about playing in small doses for a long period of time, not the other way around.
It doesn’t go by fast because most players would Experience all content, and get bored of it. This is why it’s meant to be played slowly.
Just because time traveling is available and not against TOS doesn’t mean it still isn’t cheating. Those are two different things. Youre a cheater, and that’s fine. Just call it what it is though.
@Apportal its funny someone always makes this comment as if the game wasnt downloaded 55 million times and grosse over 700 million dollars last year alone.
@Balta666 the game is perfectly playable just save often as you might have a few crashes. Other than that and a few frame rate dips in larger areas it’s fine. Some of the people here are exaggerating a bit, especially the ones who haven’t even purchased the game yet.
I wouldn’t say this is for hardcore fans only . Just because a lot of the games aren’t recognized by casual fans, does t mean retro lovers won’t love this vol. legacy of the wizard, part of the japan famous Dragon Slayer series, is worth it alone.
@kalosn but that’s EA’s fault. They are making it seem like they can’t make a better game and they can. This is the same crap they pulled when they said frostbite couldn’t work with the wiiu when in reality they just didn’t want to put in the development time. Same here. If the Witcher 3 can run the way it does there’s no reason a studio with more money can’t do it. It’s not like they wouldn’t make any money off it, switch has a large chunk of market share.
If you needed a reason or example to know Why EA needs to go as a company this is is it. The sheer laziness on their part To even try and put a above average port on the switch after only grudgingly putting anything out because of better profit margins of the switch, just shows EA just does not have it anymore.
@Raw_Dawg more like devs not supporting 32 bit versions of thier app and going 64bit only. and i said this is android, not windows, where supporting 32 bit apps are still essential. your comment didnt really matter because Microsoft is still supporting 32 bit apps and hardware, they just arent giving 32bit windows 10 out to OEMS and havent officially declared an official end support for 32bit windows at all. Which was my point. Windows still has to support 32bit, but phone OS'es and devs have no good reason to.
@Mince i dont have any special insight, because its obvious, most people are just missing the point entirely and only seeing "600$". this is not a discouraging price for anyone who has purchased a lego set before, the prices arent that uncommon and they already know they dont need or want all the sets, and i totally disagree with 90% of adults wanting the whole collection. I doubt most non collectors who are actually gonna build these will want even half of this collection.
@stevenw45 all the expansions arent available yet
@stevenH im not taking it personal, i buy all systems on day 1 so im not the type of person im talking about. im just telling you you dont seem to know your audience here talking about nex gen. You wont find many people who care on this site or any nintendo site/forum. I wouldnt brush them off as niche either, they represent a sizeable part of the gaming market.
@Heavyarms55 remember its an interactive set, so it wouldn't have been a good idea to make it totally lego-ish. Since mario interacts with every piece, its better to just use the specific mario sets which you can still mix and match. you can also use your imagination and use other lego sets to construct background pieces that make the level more of your own. It definitely works.
@StevenH see your still doing it. i didnt say hardcore nintendo fans. some people are casual nintendo fans but still mostly just play on thier switches and 3ds's. Its a considerable portion of the market actually and not just niche like your trying to make it out to be. Alot of them have current gen consoles but just dont care about next gen because they simply are going to pay into it. The only people that care about nex gen right now are the people who can afford to purchase it within the first two years, especially those currently entrenched in the switch ecosphere.
@zaphod
Its still the same simple pick up and play family fun of mario, but also with the creative building elements of lego, mixed in with mario maker creativity. I can see some people taking a bunch of different sets and making some ridiculous levels with it.
@ProNintendoFan that is the price for the whole set. when does anyone buy a whole set of anything? you couldnt fit that whole set on a table yet alone on the floor of your living room. Buy the starter kit, a few character packs and 1 or 2 expansion sets and that would appease most people. your average person is not even spending 200 dollars on this, but its definitely worth buying just to play around with it.
@StevenH see, still underestimating nintendo fans. Theres a lot of them and youre fighting a losing battle trying to sell nex gen on a site where people are more hyped to hear about nintendos first party releases than pretty much, anything. They could be making a new animal crossing on a cardboard box and it would be more exciting to nintendo fans than next gen.
@Mince first off I dont think you actually realize what the lego sets are about or what nintendo is trying to do with them. They are truly some really cool pieces of tech/toy. 580 is the expected price for a full set, and no one but a hardcore collector will even attempt. Its like saying "all sims expansion games will cost you x amount" or "buying all amiibos will cost you X amount" no ones really going to do that so i would stop harping on the price. most people will be fine with a starter set and a couple of sets.
@stevenH its not that they hate it they just like nintendo stuff and they dont play it. either because they are cheap or they just dont care for xbox and sonys type of gaming. You should expect a lot of people in here to not care much about next gen offerings from sony and Microsoft even if they have current gen systems.
@StevenH you do know what website your on right? a lot of nintendo only fans really could care less about next gen. Even nintendo themselves arent concerned with next gen.
@gcunit who said that? I said if you like Mario and buy into LEGO. Don’t make stuff up just because you’re not into LEGO. These things will sell to collectors, LEGO and non LEGO fans alike. Whether your understand it or not
@Daniel36 @Octane this is not the first time LEGO has produced a LEGO set that is more about Aesthetics than building. And licensed LEGO sets are always more expensive. See Star Wars or the simpsons. Plus this set is very technologically advanced, so its going to cost more.
@StevenH sir you are comparing two different things. Anybody who is entrenched in LEGO knows these price points are extremely common. If you love LEGO and Mario it’s a no brainer, but of course not too many people even want all these expansion sets so that 600 dollar price point will only hit collectors.
And collectors who do get everything are going to BANK when this becomes antique
This isnt just a lego set its a whole real life mario maker level with an app, in game scores on mario's chest, interaction with all of the game pieces and everything. This is way cooler than most of you are thinking.
@Raw_Dawg Microsoft isn’t ending support for 32 bit as it can’t even emulate 64 bit at the moment(windows 10s for arm processors)they aren’t even ending support for 32 but windows.
All they are doing is ending dostribution of 32 bit version of windows for oems. 32 bit apps are fully emulated and will continue to be supported, admittedly to the detriment of windows, but for the moment 32 bit apps are needed.
@STiger exactly what I mean, in windows there’s so many essential 32 but apps that it still needs to be supported , but not so much In the phone app world.
I’m going for JP. The art style is the best and ages way better. The backdrop scene In The NA version is good BUT it’s drawn terribly like most American artwork for Japanese games

@sikthvash I was ok with getting rid of it. The scalpers held up every good item towards the end and America/Europe are larger markets than japan so I’m sure Nintendo was taking losses doing it(it was probably more because of the point card system being abused but still)
@Dakotastomp Sonic Mania could easily a full season worth of content, but the point was that it fit the sonic mold, it felt like sonic, but it also felt fresh since I hadnt seen that type of anime sonic since the sega cd intro. Even if you want ot take another example, look at sonic X, sonic Sat AM, they all feel like sonic, just with their on spin on it, which is fine. but the point is to make it still feel like sonic if that makes any sense.
Even if it was more action based, you cant tell me after playing most sonic games, that boomfelt like anything sonic. The whole sonic boom franchise felt like someone took sonic and made an april fools joke out of him. I really thought it was a prank when i saw the designs. even werewolf sonic was more palate-able than that. The show did similar, with a bunch of dry, existential tumblr humor that just was never sonic. But it made sense because the sonic boom games also took sonic out of his element in a bad way.
Im not saying that boom the show was a bad product, but it had no business having the sonic franchise attached to it.
@Dakotastomp I don’t think sonic boom captures sonic at all. I think it’s an American spin on sonic based on algorithms and consumer studies, which is exactly what they used to create the sonic boom franchise. Even the designs on sonic boom had sega of japan stunned, but it was Already too late.
If you’ve ever watched the sonic mania cartoons they more properly illustrate more of a sonic feel than boom does.
Sonic boom the show is like a sonic parody sit com and doesn’t really do the franchise justice but on its own Without the sonic template on it, is a decent piece of media.
My kinda game. I’ve kickstarted enough projects and seen enough indie projects to know exactly how these Small developers live and it should be interesting to see it play out in a satire-ish video game. Looking forward to it
@Cartune show wasn’t that bad, it kinda deserved a season 3. Problem was when you make shows as product placement it’s a dead end once the product dies(sonic boom games)
