Re: Nintendo Admits It Released A New Model Of The Switch To Fight Piracy

@thinkhector I could be wrong about the shield thing that’s why I said supposedly since I’ve only heard people say it in passing and I don’t know the specific specs of the shield. initial tear downs was definitely an off the shelf tegra. I rember this specifically because there were some discussions about it back then.

There’s a bunch of websites that confirm that

@RupeeClock what do you mean hardly? it literally was an off the shelf tegra we knew that from the first tear down🙃.

it should have used custom hardware gpu instead of an off the shelf gpu people already knew the architecture for. Sure software was customized for the switch by nvidia but nothing was done to the SoC and that was a mistake.

Re: Pokémon GO's Revenue Smashes Past $6 Billion

Strictlystyles

@RubyCarbuncle it’s not a valid question, especially when a game is making 6 billion dollars. I’m sorry but it’s just pure ignorance. We keep seeing this game make headlines for whether it be money made, real life events, all types of things but still saying “people still play this?” Dude stop it. Just because you don’t “see people” playing doesn’t mean they aren’t, it’s just that people have gotten more efficient at playing them wandering around aimlessly like they were doing in 2016.

Also I just brought up the states because I’m in the states but globally there’s 8.3 million players daily in the last 30 days.

Re: Pokémon GO's Revenue Smashes Past $6 Billion

@SS25 there’s almost a million playing per day in the states alone, and anywhere from 60-120 million players playing every year globally. I honestly am tired of the “people still play this?” Phrase Because obviously there’s a LARGE amount of people playing this. Even if you count whales , 6 billion in profit means there are literally MILLIONS of people playing per year.

Re: Sega Has Considered Dreamcast & Saturn Mini But Is Worried About Extreme Costs

Strictlystyles

@aznable everyone knows Saturn and dc plays burned cds. But did I not also say oem hardware AND software. There’s a considerable amount people who actually want to play the original hardware still and pay big money to do so. This is who they need to be targeting.

As far as emulation, hardware disc emulation is definitely past damn near 100 percent with a very small amount of games that are incompatible or have issues. You can play most games on Saturn with few issues on PC via mednafen- but you have to have a good computer.

Re: Sega Has Considered Dreamcast & Saturn Mini But Is Worried About Extreme Costs

@RushDawg I honestly don’t think it would sell, partially because sega doesn’t know who to sell it to. The community that would pay for this is already modding thjer dreamcasts and Saturns to run games off SD cards, emulation has been smoothed out for the most part. What they all want is oem accessories and maybe even genuine sega shell cases or stock consoles. Those in decent amounts targeted to those people would make sega a lot of money. There are Chinese companies doing this and making a killing right now. Seems like a missed opportunity to me

Re: Sega Has Considered Dreamcast & Saturn Mini But Is Worried About Extreme Costs

@aznable I’m actually speaking for a considerable amount of the retro sega community who would actually love to PAY to be able have actual reproductions rather than a “Mini”. Hell I’d be happy with reproduction cd drives. They’d definitely make more money reproducing accessories and oem hardware/software than actually selling a mini as Saturn and dc are niche at best. At least catering to the community who will pay would be a better choice (since sega already knows trying to do a minis is too expensive for the risk)

Also emulation at this point is like 95 percent. It was dodgy like 15 years ago.

Re: Talking Point: If Breath Of The Wild 2 Launched Alongside New Switch Hardware, Would You Upgrade?

Strictlystyles

@YANDMAN business analysts don’t just use leaks they use supply chain reports and parts orders and all types of other things to make that assumption (not even taking consideration there’s still a global supply shortage) . All you are smoking is hopium there is more evidence to suggest there will be no nex generation switch in 2023 you are just making hopeful guesses at this point and THAT is my point here.

Also we all know that even though Zelda moves consoles Nintendo DOES NOT CARE they do not think like that. They will release a nex gen switch with whatever they feel like and we will 100% take that and buy it anyway and they know this.

Re: Talking Point: If Breath Of The Wild 2 Launched Alongside New Switch Hardware, Would You Upgrade?

Strictlystyles

@Bizzyb it doesn’t make sense because business analysts With more foresight than us don’t see new hardware in 2023 and if it was Nintendo or someone would have definitely said or leaked something by now.
That’s the reality of the situation and that’s why it doesn’t make sense to think botw2 would come with any new hardware in 2023, because new (successor)hardware in 2023 is not happening. Any other hopefulness based on the past is pure hopium not based in reality.

If they pushed it to 2024 there’s a chance, it 2023 no way.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Triangle Strategy On Switch

@Xansies I don’t get what’s wrong with that a lot of ps1 titles were like that as well. Vandal hearts being one of my favorite examples.

Just pre ordered the tacticians edition since it’s shipping to the states. This is going to be a great collectors edition in a few years(not that I would sell)
