Re: Nintendo of America Partners Up With Apex 2015 for Super Smash Bros. Tournament Event

@JasonAnArgoNOT64 That's because Game Freak actually expands and improves on the competitive aspect of Pokemon. Sakurai has made it clear that he doesn't care about that side of the Smash community, so people who preferred Melee have no choice but to stick with that game. You should actually try to understand why people still play that game competitively before criticizing them for it.

Re: Poll: Which is the Best Super Smash Bros. Game?

Storytime7

@JasonAnArgoNOT64 Except these "melee fanatics" you speak of have not insulted anybody in these comments. No, all I see is fans of the new games bashing melee fans based on how they assume we act. Your profile says you're 17 which is way too old to act like a little instigator.

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

Storytime7

@BaffleBlend I'm not insulted by people who can support their opinions in a calm manner. No worries, man.

@Dr_Corndog No, I misworded what I was trying to say because it was late at night. I meant to only include wavedashing when I mentioned options, but added L-Cancelling to my post for some reason. Of course, I forgot I have to perfectly convey my opinions if I don't want Sm4sh nerds jumping down my throat for even implying Melee is better competitively (not even better overall).

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

Storytime7

@BaffleBlend I think the competitive scene for Melee will be just fine. Melee doesn't have much going for it anymore when played casually, but that's because other games in the series are better suited for that kind of play.

Also, when I use the terms "casual" and "competitive", I'm not trying to imply one is better than the other. Some people tend to think that, so I just wanted to clarify that in this post.

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

Storytime7

@shinokami I like all the Smash Bros games, but Melee is easily the best from a competitive standpoint. You mentioned skill and how technical the games are, so I was just calling you out for your ignorance. Wavedashing and L-Cancelling provide more options that increase the amount of strategy in the game, and raise the skill cap. 9 times out of 10 my opponent will go for a meteor smash or spike when they get me off stage (and fail), so it's not like Smash 4 isn't without its gimmicky KO methods.

This is all you needed to say -Lz

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

The comments on these artcles are always so ignorant. Maybe people on this site wouldn't think this way if they bothered to improve at the game while they put so much time into it. Also, just because someone can use a low tier character well does not mean tier lists aren't important. Low tier characters usually struggle in competitive play.

Then again, I'm not even sure why some of you get worked up over tier lists. They only really matter for those who compete in tournaments, so it shouldn't matter if you're not one of those people.

Re: Review: Mighty Gunvolt (3DS eShop)

Storytime7

@crzysortagamer I liked it, but I probably wouldn't have played it if I didn't get the game for free by purchasing Azure Striker Gunvolt. Even for a low price, it still feels like a short side game (mostly because that's exactly what it is). My play time is at 58 minutes according to my activity log, and I beat the game with all three characters.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Minute Debate - Is Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros. 3 More Influential?

Storytime7

Both games introduced tons of things that became staples of the series, so I'd say they're about the same when it comes to being influential.

@minotaurgamer All those statements are false. If anything, both SMB3 and SMW wouldn't exist if it weren't for SMB. SMW has just as much content as any classic Mario and plays just as well, so by no means is it rushed. Castlevania 3 did connected worlds in a different way than World. In that game, you could sometimes choose different paths to advance, whereas in SMW it was an actual overworld.

Re: Review: Kirby: Triple Deluxe (3DS)

Storytime7

@unrandomsam So? I didn't mention that game (mostly because I never played it) at all. My complaint about the content of the review highlighting a few issues like the game not pushing the series forward with innovation and downplaying many of the game's strengths isn't just limited to this one review, it was more of a general statement.

Re: Review: Kirby: Triple Deluxe (3DS)

Storytime7

New levels, abilities, interaction between the foreground and background to a larger extent than many other games in the genre, and some new modes aren't enough? It's ridiculous that even with a lot of new content, a game can still be criticized just because it didn't reinvent the series.

Not so much the score as it is the actual content of the review that's disappointing.
