@sixrings I think at the very least they should have been given huge discounts on the digital versions of those games. It couldn't have been that hard to get a list of players with that game on their account then send out digital coupons.
@electrolite77 I would love to play the old games, I won't however pay for them all over again. If I want to play wii/wii u games updated I have a PC and an emulator that can upscale.
@Nemesis666 Even the total over the years, a significant percentage are remasters.
I would rather not have those and get 1 or 2 new games in exchange. There is limited dev time and wasting it on ports of old games makes a ton of money but doesn't make me happy to have bought a switch. Basically this is rewarding fair weather nintendo fans and screwing over long time fans.
So glad I waited on this. When they decide to release the whole game, GOTY or whatever they want to call it I will buy it. Publishers really have no shame these days.
"Once Rocket League goes free to play, anyone who already owns Rocket League on any platform (including Steam) will be able to play and enjoy the game with full support for future updates and features. However, the Steam version will no longer be available to download for new players. To put it simply, wherever you play now (including Steam), you'll still be able to play in the future."
So the Linux version is coming back?
First they screwed me, now anyone who paid for it.
@Damo A 200" screen that doesn't fill the whole field of vision, or near it? They are claiming 90 degree coverage. A valve index, $1000 headset is only 110 degrees.
The way they list the specs is also very suspect. They give only combined eye resolution not per panel.
Frankly this looks like your typical aliexpress headset with a crappy marketing campaign designed to over charge.
The guarantee to ship within 3 months just about proves it. They are ordering whitebox headsets and relabeling them.
The blocking blue light thing is another warning sign. That's marketing garbage as if it did that all the colors would be messed up.
The mention of 5G for no reason, is another bad sign. As is the poor translation.
4k doesn't mean no screen door. Try any VR headset and see.
Heck try it with a 4k TV/phone/ any kind of panel. At a couple inches from your face there is pronounced screendoor on a 4k panel. That is why VR heads are pushing for 8k.
@MajinSoul TV is about a plot, something happening. Sports are physically impressive. Video games are a thing you are meant to do yourself, they are not for just watching idly. I understand people can like other things, but frankly I will send my kid outside to play if he is ever so bored as to watch someone else play video games.
So you just turn off the chat and you win the game?
I still don't understand watching other people play video games, as a kid we called that waiting for our turn. So I can't understand a chat stream about them playing the game. If I caught my kid watching such trash I would send him outside to play.
@fafonio The SNES came out in 1990 when you would have been the right age to play such games. Far more 40+ year olds grew up with the NES than people your age.
@popey1980 That never meant anything about quality. It only meant they paid to get their game approved and were using the NES lockout chip Nintendo required. Unapproved games got around the lockout chip in a couple different ways.
A game can be an RPG without EXP. Role playing doesn't require experience points. Renaissance fairs are role playing and I have never seen exp awarded.
@Leif81 The screen is a sub $20 part the battery is even cheaper. I don't see that reducing cost much at all. Unless they expect huge volume they would be putting the switch guts into the dock with a new case on it. Same controllers and grip in the box as the normal switch.
With enough volume they could design a new motherboard, but that's a lot of sunk cost for what I would bet is an incredibly small market.
@TG16_IS_BAE Have you tried taking your medicine instead of listening to the voices in your head? What far left media? We have center right and far right media in both the USA and the UK.

Re: Random: Ever Wondered What Halo Infinite Would Look Like On The Nintendo 64?
@sixrings It would look like a $60 per game ripoff.
Based on tribes but dumbed down.
Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details
@Rika_Yoshitake Pikmin 4 should be $60, Pikmin 3 should be a lot cheaper. It's an old game.
Re: Random: People Are Still Making Awesome Nintendo Switch TV Displays
The bezels on that one are much better.
I would buy a new new switch if all they did was reduce the bezels to something reasonable.
Re: Analogue Pocket Pre-Orders Have Sold Out, But More Are On The Way
@The_Legged_One So please show me the cheaper one.
I will buy a cheaper one using an FPGA right away.

Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Making As Many Games As It Used To?
@electrolite77 It does if I expected them to release new games when I bought the system.

Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Making As Many Games As It Used To?
@Nemesis666 A third of the games release this year are remasters and you are claiming this is reasonable?
Removing those means the releases are single digit per year, for every year but 2019.
Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Making As Many Games As It Used To?
Now subtract the rereleases. Just count new games and see what happens.
Re: Reminder: Use Your Switch Game Vouchers While You Still Can (North America)
I don't see how this is legal.
In my state gift cards can't expire in less than 5 years.
Re: Netflix's The Witcher Is Getting A Prequel Series Set 1200 Years Earlier
I liked it and the pacing was definitely for adults. I could see a lot of kids and young people not being kept entranced by it.
Re: Analogue Pocket Delayed Until Next Year, But There's Some Good News, Too
I am glad to see it is so cheap. I really expected it to be $250-300.
Re: Dr. Mario World Celebrates The Character's 30th Anniversary With 8-Bit Dr. Mario
They should celebrate the anniversary of real Dr Mario by shutting down this terrible mobile game

Re: Watch Out, Your Username Can Make Crysis Unplayable On Switch
That's some really high quality code there.
If anyone wants to hack the switch, this is a good sign. People who don't check their inputs, don't ever.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?
Will they sell the whole game or is it still going to be half the game and then DLC for the other half?
Just make the damn games $100 each and sell the whole damn thing.
Re: Gamer Girl Developer Removes Trailer And Marketing Materials Following Online Backlash
@TG16_IS_BAE No one said any of that, but the voices in your head.
Pointing out A does B. Doesn't mean A doesn't also do C. Stop pretending that's an argument.
Bad apples spoil the barrel. The barrel is spoiled.
Adding good apples only turns them into bad apples.
Read about all the cops fired for being good apples. In my own city we have one that lost her pension for being a whistleblower.
The term hasn't changed, you just can't admit it.
None of this changes the fact that SJW is nothing bad. It's just that snowflakes don't like being called out on being racists or misogynists.
Re: Gamer Girl Developer Removes Trailer And Marketing Materials Following Online Backlash
@TG16_IS_BAE The meaning hasn't changed. Do you think MLK would be ok with the police killing unarmed african americans?
Re: Gamer Girl Developer Removes Trailer And Marketing Materials Following Online Backlash
The posts some people make really make it clear why I don't play online. Sad to see this kind of xbox frat boy crap on a nintendo fan site.

@Luna-Harmony Just mount the TV to the wall. No extra space needed.

Stand 3 meters from a wall. You should be able to see far more.
Re: Hands On: Using Dream Glass 4K Is Like Strapping A 200-Inch TV To Your Face
Their last product was "Dream Glass Air". Go look at the kickstarter comments on that, before you give them any money.

Even with another name so as to avoid licensing.

@DevlinMandrake I have actually campaigned for and had legislation passed. Maybe instead of being contrary and juvenile you should put in some effort.

@Kidfunkadelic83 If you live in most of the world you can change the laws by voting and reaching out to your representatives.

@Kidfunkadelic83 @Kimyonaakuma It wouldn't take 4 years at minimum wage to make that here. Perhaps you need to get the laws changed.

Re: Old Star Wars Episode I: Racer N64 Glitch Still Works On Switch
@impurekind I think a proper port would had both. One option for classic settings the other for modern settings.
Let's face it, that's not the case because this is just a rom packed with an emulator.

Half the reason I loved that game was the music.
