@TheFullAndy Please forward the copy of the contract. Otherwise you are just making stuff up.
I think they simply didn't want to pay for the cart and no further consideration was made. So instead of getting a $60 sale from me, they get whatever the GOTY edition for PS5 will cost on sale.
@TheFullAndy Then nintendo needs to have more control over publishing. AAA games shouldn't be allowed to only be released digital. That's just giving up sales.
@FargusPelagius That was an obvious lie. Come on this is the site that interviewed a manager instead of an actual developer and let him not answer questions.
@Olmectron Who said licensing agreements have to be free? Who said they are losing money? These are genuine joycon, so they make the same no matter what.
@Grot What are you on about? Licensing is not something that they are required to do, but could do when it is appropriate. Acting like they have no choice is completely stupid.
If they just don't want to, that's also fine. Don't pretend they have no choice.
@Grot They could charge him for a license, or grant a free one for charity use. It can even be $1 and other considerations, thus still protect their IP.
@TG16_IS_BAE Deciding to be a decent person is not being afraid of anything. Instead of being so hurt and scared yourself, maybe trying being nice. That you think there must be fear to get people to behave, makes me wonder about you.
@RupeeClock Why would they need to? You entered into an agreement in the USA or Japan, and represented yourself as able to do that. If you want your contracts to be under European law you would need to enter into contracts in Europe.
If you buy a home in the USA as a EU citizen, your rights and responsibilities are under US law, not EU laws. They can sell your address the next second.
@RupeeClock Which is why the terms for those accounts will say you have to live there or that these are contracts under the laws of that place. They don't check it, but it means you entered into the contract in bad faith and the GPDR doesn't protect you from yourself.
@jump Odds are contact tracing would have real trouble identifying cases from theaters. It would just be considered community acquired. Even if you found a small cluster, it would be hard to determine that they all met at that one place unless we made it mandatory to have a covid app on your phone or something.
Either way I have no interest in movie theaters until I get a vaccine.
@LinktotheFuture Depends on what you buy and where. $20 or less can easily reached by one person if they order a fancy sandwich, nicer side and a soda.
@RupeeClock I agree they should use larger carts. When the game costs twice as much as on other consoles, they can easily afford to use a proper size cartridge.
Games that don't get a physical release, to my mind simply aren't released.
As someone nearing midlife I have more money to spend on games than time to spend on them, it often seems. I find it takes me months to finish games as I play maybe a couple hours a week. So ruling out games that publishers or developers don't want me to play them is just a natural thing to do.
@SMUGSLOTH69 If only the games themselves came on some kind of storage media, so that they wouldn't take up so much space. Can you imagine such a thing?
@MisterKorman Had they answered the interesting interview questions we could discuss that.
Instead we got some manager who clearly doesn't know what is going on or isn't allowed to say. Some references to PR and some total non-committal answers.
He could have just mentioned removal of OpenGL in favor of Vulkan, that was one massive change. He answered a question he didn't know in a classic liars manner "Oh there are just so many, it would be hard to pick one". He could have had some canned answers from PR or approved by them for the obvious questions.
@HeyItsFlapjack Really? This interview was terrible. He answered no questions and I am pretty doubtful this guy did any work on the game based on his answers. He couldn't name one thing that changed between IDtech6 and 7. Just name one thing, that's all he had to do.
That sega hasn't sold one of these shows how incompetent their management is. Use an off the shelf SoC, software emulator, include a 3 in 1 cart and start selling reprints. Free money
@Bl4ckb100d The parts list told us that. This is yet another off the shelf SoC and probably an opensource emulator with some ROMs. I wonder if NIntendo dumped carts or if someone will catch them selling roms downloaded off the internet again.
@Retro_Player_77 No the chef only has so much time in his day. He can either add my favorite to the menu or something else.
More and more publishers are moving to this model. It means they make maximum money for minimum investment. I get the economic reasoning, but it hurts gaming overall. Imagine if instead of skyrim rereleases we actually got new games that weren't freemium mobile crapfests.
@Agriculture The idea was lock-in. They didn't want you buying more systems and splitting where you bought games, making the controllers incompatible even if just by making the port a different shape or flopping a few pins was the order of the day.
@NathanTheAsian 32 bit era? Is this some kind of joke? Son, I am disappoint. Yes, we dealt with NTSC connections for NES, those days are gone. Low framerates suck.

Re: Video: 16 Brutal Minutes Of DOOM Eternal Switch Gameplay
@TheFullAndy That seems unlikely, I will just get a physical disk for PS5.
Nintendo deciding to reduce their sales is their problem.
Re: Video: 16 Brutal Minutes Of DOOM Eternal Switch Gameplay
Let me know when it get's a physical release. Not paying full price for half the product.

@Grot That's not how any of this works.
You aren't required to grant licensing. Just because steam can sell bethesda games doesn't mean you can.
Re: Custom-Made Etika Joy-Con Which Raised $10k For Charity Fell Foul Of Copyright Claim, Creator Reveals
@nessisonett They could protect their trademarks and still allow this. That's exactly what licensing agreements are for.

Isn't reusing the emulator the very definition of being lazy?
Re: PSA: By Default, Nintendo Now Collects Data Through Google Analytics On Switch eShop (North America)
That applies in the EU.

So uselessly small and costs about the same as a fast food meal.
How generous.

The crying about people deciding what to spend their own money on is pathetic.
I and many others will only buy physical games. That's just how we choose to spend our money.
If you guys want to buy me a digital copy I will be glad to take it.

Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?
@Parmandur There is an objective difference. Longer time between frames impact your ability to react. Everyone can see 24fps vs 60fps
Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?
@NathanTheAsian The preference can be subjective sure, but objectively low frame rates look worse

@Parmandur Complete bull. There is loads of difference.

Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?
@Parmandur Not at all. You can go much lower and see a video, that doesn't mean 24fps is enjoyable.
