@Heavyarms55 Nintendo choose to make it that way. Homebrew could be separate from piracy, but Nintendo decided against that. For an example see how apples iphone dev program works.
@westman98 Quality is exactly what bugs aren't. If you bought a table with one leg shorter than the other, a bug, would you think it was a high quality table?
Too bad they changed the way they look at the same time. That's the problem with these projects, instead of a straight upgrade we get every character looking wrong.
@westman98 a game that can bloat it's own save file until you can't load it, isn't poorly made?
I love bugthesda games, but they are called bugthesda for a reason. Skyrim has been released about 100 time and there are still bugs there from the first release.
@mesome713 People would buy those remastered as well.
People like to do the things they have done in the past. Nostalgia and revisiting previously enjoyed experiences are pretty much part of the human condition.
@Krambo42 The LAN play is interesting, because my friends are mostly techy, so setting up some ipsec tunnels on our routers and playing each other over the internet is something we might do.
@TheFullAndy His opinions are the group think of a particular set of internet losers. It used to be these guys were separated and couldn't find similar people. This meant they either self isolated or improved themselves. Now they find similarly damaged people and pretend it's some kind of reasonable culture. It's really pathetic.
I love the butthurt comments from the supposedly manly men. What a bunch of whiny little kids, oh noes someone took down some marketing garbage. You are complaining that you lost out on advertising.
@Dringo that's literally culture. You are saying that no ideas shall ever become part of the common culture. You would have us paying a license to Uggs descendants for the wheel.
@Deltath Remakes are not new games. If you want to argue reboots are, that's fine. I didn't say reboots. I said remakes which includes remasters.
Ports are fine, but they aren't new games.
I want some new games, why is that so much to ask?
If I want to play old games, Ican just play old games.
Nintendo releases plenty of shovelware even if they didn't make it, look at any of their mobile stuff. Look at the online store.
@Cosats What's childish is not understand that not everyone agrees on copyright lengths. The first copyright law in the USA for example is from 1790, it was for 14 years and could be extended another 14 years. Using that standard the original Mario games would no longer be protected.
To suggest disagreeing with extending copyright into infinity is dangerous is ludicrous.
@westman98 That's not this article though. This is about bringing nintendo titles to mobile as they are and having subscriptions. Not making mobile games.
@RPGamer That wouldn't impact you existing game library. I have already canceled one streaming service and netflix might be next. If I can't count on the stuff I want being on them, I might as well just go back to buying disks and renting them.
@westman98 Why would you translate them to touch? I would think a gamepad like all the other services use would be the solution to that.
DS games would be played with the device in portrait mode, getting you probably similar screen sizes and way more pixels. I just checked and my phone display is in portrait wider than a DS display. Only the latest 3DS would be an issue, and the 3d is going to work anyway.
Using the USB-C connector and not properly implementing USB-C is not the same as a custom charging method. This is just a broken implementation of a proper method. Nintendo needs to fix this with the next release. I believe the implementation is fine, except for in docked mode.
@Ventilator I don't understand why you are abusing the word real this way. There is no magic about analogue. They all have minimum resolutions anyway. How fast a needle can move, how fast something can be cut, etc.
The best sound is that with the least noise. There are no analogue formats that I know of that have a low noise floor. Vinyl is noisy as heck. That's that famous warmness, just like tubes. Those are defects not found in the original sound when it was recorded.

Re: Nintendo Cracks Down On The Super Mario 64 PC Port
@Dringo No one said that. You are hallucinating. please take your medicine.
70 years is not generous, you lunatic. 28 years total was quite generous.
Re: Nintendo Cracks Down On The Super Mario 64 PC Port
@Dringo You should remember to take your medication.
Re: Random: What's Up With That Metroid Reference In The Paper Mario Trailer?
I hope we see Prime 4 soon. I preordered when it was first announced.
Re: Free-To-Play Elder Scrolls Game Expected To Launch On Switch Later This Week
@westman98 I played it on PS3 and PC. Most of the bugs were in both, just worse on PS3.

@-Juice- Yes, it is. But why make them look so different?

So they want you to pay to not play the game, that always says a lot about what someone thinks of their own game.

$15 and nothing new added?
That's a bit much. Might still get it, but will grumble while doing so.
Re: Nintendo Switch Is 'Barely In The Middle' Of Its Life Cycle
@Jokerwolf Go look it up yourself. It's not going to compare favorably to a PS4 much less the pro.

New games or just more ports, shovelware and remakes?

Someone needs to tell Nintendo about the Streisand effect.
Taking information off the internet is about like trying to make water not wet.
Re: That Rumoured HD Remaster Of The Mass Effect Trilogy Might Be Coming To Switch
I liked playing remasters at first, but now I am sick of them.
Either port the game as it was and sell it super cheap, or give me a new game.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98 That's not this article though. This is about bringing nintendo titles to mobile as they are and having subscriptions. Not making mobile games.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@RPGamer So you would still have your old games, which is what I meant. sorry for being unclear.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98 I have to disagree. Anyone who wants to play those now is using an emulator and a gamepad or suffering for not.
The general non-gaming public isn't ever going to play classic nintendo games, they are way too hard.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98 Why would the inputs be on the phone?
Again, if you are porting games that need a controller, you sell a controller.
This is how all these other services work. Look at google stadia.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@RPGamer That wouldn't impact you existing game library. I have already canceled one streaming service and netflix might be next. If I can't count on the stuff I want being on them, I might as well just go back to buying disks and renting them.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98
I was talking about porting classic games, not garbage mobile games.
My phone is a normal size. A DS display is tiny.
DS layout would be simple, phone in portrait, top half top display, bottom half bottom display.
Re: Ubisoft Kicks Off Another Huge Switch Sale, Up To 75% Off Action-Adventure Games (North America)
Wow, just one new this gen game and the rest all ports.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@RPGamer I wouldn't stop, I don't see why you would either. I would think like me you would just stop buying newer games.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98 Why would you translate them to touch?
I would think a gamepad like all the other services use would be the solution to that.

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
@westman98 What are you on about?
You get an emulator buy a license and package it with each rom as a signed binary for the device.
The licensing of games is way harder than the technical problems.
Re: Mortal Kombat News Is Coming, New Reveal Planned For Tomorrow
@mousieone I know what those are, scams.
That you fell for it doesn't mean I should.
Re: Mortal Kombat News Is Coming, New Reveal Planned For Tomorrow
@nab1 I see you do understand. They are all scams. Thanks for trying though, I hope you get paid well.
Re: Mortal Kombat News Is Coming, New Reveal Planned For Tomorrow
@nab1 So you are not required to pay for anything, except characters which are a thing that should have come with the game!
It's microtransaction garbage, stop defending this crap.
Re: Mortal Kombat News Is Coming, New Reveal Planned For Tomorrow
@Magician That is has an in game currency was enough for me to nope out.
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Create An Apple Arcade-Style Service For Smartphones?
It would just be more shovelware and the crapfest that is mobile gaming.
If mobile gaming had been treated as anything but a dumping ground and freemium crap fest the Switch would never have succeeded
