@JellySplat it wasn't a XL, it was a faceplate for the standard N3DS, the one we're not getting. Though the way I worded it made it sound like I was implying a XL model. If they made a XL model like that, I'd be all over it. (I may have to import one just to have the faceplate though. Haha)
Lol. Though it sounds like you're just considering semi retirement. I don't think I could retire gaming... Unless my hands fell off or something. But yeah to @JaxonH point, certain franchises I'd have to play each gen. Most of them being on the Nintendo side of things.
But man that Zelda tweet you posted. That's a thing of beauty. I gave up on trying to get a MM 3DS, as I didn't care for the color, but I'd pay a king's ransom for that 3DS.
@rjejr I get the basic logic of the whole thing, Particularly from a business standpoint. Shulk = Xenoblade Chronicles, a Gamestop exclusive initally. So it's a natural fit that his amiibo would be exclusive to GS. Gamestop paid for that exclusivity, so Nintendo isn't passing up extra money, which probably outweighs what they would have made in amiibo sales being they're being under produced as it is. On the the other hand (and I think to your earlier point) If they are pushing XC for N3DS, then it looks like a bad decision being that the re-release will be widely available, so why should Shulk be locked to exclusivity? Which that's the part that sucks. I'm not the guy in the suit or the guy throwing the monkey feces at the board, so there's that...
I don't even want to touch the whole New Nintendo 3DS situation. That's another Pete Carroll right there. Ha. Even the pic embedded in the tweet has the 'XL' branding dropped from it. So who knows what's going on...
@JaxonH I've gotta say in hindsight, besides all the gas I've spent driving around, I've been pretty fortunate in getting my hands on all the amiibo. The only real snags I ran into was was Fit Trainer (which I ended up getting lucky on ebay for $30 bundled with another amiibo I had yet to get) and Lucario, in which I had to import from Germany.
@sinalefa if you want a Shulk, I may have two on the way, barring anything crazy happening (one sent to my house, the other pre-ordered in store I did it that way as a fail safe in case something went awry) If I'm able to get the extra one, I'd be willing to just send it to you free of charge, as I'm not looking to personally profit from the things, I just want to collect.
@rjejr Oh yea. That's what I was hammering at. I can see both points. I see nothing paticularly wrong with the Shulk situation, but agree with your overall point that the bone headed decisions Nintendo makes isn't doing them any favors, as I share those same views. To be fair, I do see your side of the argument as it pertains to the whole Shulk situation. And if @sinalefa can't get one abroad, then that actually does add fuel to your argument.
Though in general, I hate exclusives. From a business standpoint, I understand. Nintendo gets money from that. Overall, it's been a mess when you add in the the frustrations of procuring those exclusive amiibo whether or not you pre-ordered (or were able to in the first place). I ended up having to import Lucario at a $10 premium.
@Ferrari 24 that would actually be pretty cool if we could get other Nintendo series. I'd love to see something done with Smash. I kinda wanna see another Captain N series too (don't laugh! Haha)
I half expected to see comments an Nintendo being a failure with the Wii U and how horrible of an idea this is right now. /s
Though seriously, I've always wanted to see Zelda in live action. With the fantasy genre exploding the way it is, now would be a great time to do something like this. As far as the comparisons with GoT... I suppose there's a very loose connection setting wise as you could drop a LoZ in the Thrones-esque time period. I thought a better comparison would have been Lord of the Rings or something...
Anyhoot... I would kill to see an Zelda Anime in the style of that one Smash Bros direct a while back!
I'm all aboard Nintendo trying new things. I'm interested to see what this QoL platform is... Nintendo didn't start off as a video game company. It's absub to think that's where they should stop.
@rjejr I'm with @JaxonH on this one (and not because of his good taste in avatars ) concerning the examples he gave. Xenoblade Chronicals is such a niche title, that the people who are getting it are the ones that are more well versed (i.e. folks like us) we probably already have our amiibos on lock. Besides, since Shulk was a part of a game that was a GS exclusive in the first place, it makes sense that his amiibo was exclusive as well.
Though at the same time with their overall amiibo strategy and some of their other questionable decisions you'd think that Nintendo HQ has this big ol wall in their boardroom with every possible scenario that they throw monkey feces at and roll with wherever sticks.
@JellySplat l'll probably end up going back to the GameStop at the mall I used to work at since they know me better than the guys around the corner from me. I couldn't get them to pre-order a MM N3DS for nothing! Lol.
They gave me the same dates 13th for Shulk and a few and the 20th for the rest. I'm pretty excited about my Shulk. It's the first 'rare' amiibo that I'm going procure without much of a hassle. Haha. I would have pre-ordered the other wave 3 amiibo at the retail level, but I was out of town at the time I did it, but the GS I go to now assured me that I should be fine with online pre-order. It's a brand new location, so they get decent allocation. (fingers crossed. Lol)
@sakamoto-san they haven't refunded money for my Shulk, so hopefully I'm in a good place... Though I can't help but to think this might not bode well for the rest of my online pre-order bunch now.
Man I just wish Nintendo would find a way to transfer all your licences to your SD card and lock it until you're ready to lock it to your new 3DS. That way it saves headaches trading your old one in. /rant
For what it's worth I have a Samsung micro SD in mine and it works just fine. Nintendo probably just list the name brand cards to give new customers a piece of mind to make shopping for one easier.
@ikki5 I'm assuming street date was broken or something. Which that's what's been happening other places. I knew my GameStop said I should be fine because I pre-ordered, but Bowser came a week earlier and they stocked them and sold them. They said just call everyday because you never know.
When I went to target to grab my Rosalina, they already had some MegaMan and Toon Link , so I jumped on those at that time.
I too thought it was because Iwata was sick. Having just getting over the flu myself, that bugger takes about two weeks+ before you're all the way better. And with Iwata just getting over whatever ailment he had previously, it's better to err on the side of caution with him, as he might need an even longer turnaround. Though however insignificant 4 days of New 3DS sales data is, it's always nice to have a peek into how early returns are doing on that front. I'm not a suit or analyst and I'm not going to pretend to be, but here's to hoping some good news comes out of this upcoming briefing!
@liljmoore N64 and GC VC would be great and world be interesting what the pricing would be. If you have Wii games at $20 it seems like that would almost guarantee GC games will be $15 and N64 games would be $10.
Which implies that we are talking beyond just Target. I respect your opinions and I agree with them the majority of the time, paticularly concerning third party strategy, but you can't change things to fit your argument. And again, your example must be a regional thing. An outlier. I went shopping all this morning, including two Targets (because the first one sold my Rosalina) and there's no copies of M to be found new for any price. Same at Walmart. Same at TRU. The only places I see it new is Amazon which goes for $30. So suggested being the word which we've already established at this point, it's up to Target (at least against my many previous years in the retail industry before I moved on) to drop the price on their goods just like they, and any other retailer would do with any other product in their store to clear merch. They already brought that product at the price they paid Nintendo for in the first place, so if your Target(s) bought more than what they could actually sell, then the onus is on them to take a loss on the product by marking it down. Unless I'm missing something along the MSRP chain. Which I could very well be. Also, dropping a price doesn't mean it's always going to sell. You go to that same Target or any other retailer, you'll see bins and shelves of lowered MSRP games (with some discounted further) So while lowering MSRP can yield some results, it's not the end all be all of moving product. The majority of video games sales come from buyers at the initial MSRP anyways. In the case of Nintendo in paticular (which not to discount others) their evergreen titles still sell at MSRP even years later. Which probably plays into their decision not to lower it at the same clip as others. We both know Nintendo's issues go far, far beyond the price of their software. Though to be fair I know there are people who wish eShop sales were a bit more substantial. So I'm not saying there's not work to be done in that area. At all.
But yea, 'alfoat' wasn't to say they could live off core fans perpetually, but anyone would be remiss to say that it hasn't helped them stay in business. Obviously with handheld business by far and wide propping them up. Then again, they had almost 30 years of surplus up to this point, with help from the Wii's success, fad or not. Which circles back around to what has been discussed before concerning Nintendo and their relationship with third parties and what they could do to to improve that.
We'll also have to agree to disagree on the whole 'imaginary value' portion of your argument. If there was poor quality, precieved or otherwise, Nintendo games on a whole wouldn't be rated as high as they do, even from the media outlets that (at least according to the most ardent Nintendo fans) are biased against them.
Obviously I'm one person, but I'm far from brainwashed and believe Nintendo games hold value. As with anything there are few exceptions, but more often than not, I can go back and play most Nintendo games again and again before I could from anyone else. I think most any true gamer (the ones that play everything without allegiance) I can't say that I've walked into a store looking for any game and saying, "damn I wish that game was cheaper" maybe except 16 years ago when I was looking for Chrono Cross and this rare Dragon Ball Z game on the PS One. ☺
@Quorthon well Other M is a poor example anyways because you can't find it new at the retail level new anymore. All you're going to find is secondhand copies. Also, you said it "retails for $50 in most places" which would indicate at least in this example, the conversation was moving beyond Target. Hence my brief search for the title anywhere I could find it, which Amazon, eBay and GS were the only places I personally found.
Prime availability might be a regional thing. In my area, you'd be hard pressed to find any copies until recently when the game hit the eShop. Though in general, you'd have to imagine it was hard to find at some point being that GameStop dared to sell it 90 bucks used at one point. Which is part of the reason the copies that were sitting on shelves stayed there.
I did go out of my way to point out evergreen titles which I know those sell in the millions, so obviously they're mass produced, but yet some of those are still hard to find used, they still sell respectable numbers new. So if it's going to sell, why lower MSRP?
On the other hand, Nintendo is pretty much in a position to create that 'false concept of value' They know their core fans will hold on to their games because they think their games are valuable, pieces of quality work as it's the 'core Nintendo fans' that's keeping the company afloat right now. Nintendo knows they will pick up most 1st party games and hold on to them which in turn allows them to charge more for their games longer. It sure isn't the general consumer that's helping them out for the most part. Which I guess circles back around to you saying Nintendo gamers are a different breed (which by the tone of some of your posts, that actually might be a bad thing... Haha)
@Quorthon Where do you shop for Metroid Other M? A quick peruse online tells me I can fetch it anywhere between 13 and 30 dollars new. It's 10 used at GS and if by some miracle they got in a new copy, it could be fetched for 5 bucks.
Even if Nintendo does charge the retailers more, there's no denying the fact that their evergreen titles don't get traded in as often as games on other systems. I game on anything and everything, and I'm not blind to Nintendo's faults but I would 10 out 10 times trade in my copy of God of War III before I would even think of trading in my copy of Skyward Sword. Which is why it fetches so high. If no one's trading it in, then it's harder to procure secondhand, which drives up the price for the game. On the other side of the coin, I could get a nice return should I decide to sell it (in most cases). If it still sells at the original MSRP, why lower it?
And we know for sure that limited pressings is what drives up the prices of games like Kirby Dreamland and Prime Trilogy, which is why it fetches so darn high everywhere. but you can also get a nice return on those as well (though the market on Prime has been hurt a bit due to it being available on the Wii U eShop for $20)
I went to the two Targets in my area that have Rosalina and the guy that stocks the amiibo said that he's not stocking them until tomorrow afternoon with the rest of the tuseday software/music. He said that was the street date. Luckily he's holding on to one for me. I just hope he doesn't decide to put them out earlier. He said his store got in 40 of them, so I feel pretty good about my chances of nabbing one, as it doesn't seem like very many folks have asked for it yet.
@Ryu_Niiyama I was getting ready to say almost the exact same thing to @Quorthon but I saw your comment come up while I was typing my comment, so I deleted it. LOL
@Porky I was on the fence about getting MP 10, though for 50 and a free amiibo, I suppose it's not a bad deal. But this totally ruins my all digital conquest! Haha
@Porky were you able to get Toad? Or Mario? I didn't see Mario in the drop-down menu at all and Toad was unavailable, so I don't know if that means he sold out or what.... that makes me sad on the inside. HAHA
@brewsky though again playing devil's advocate, they could have planned for the game to have 66GB. Without a hard number from the developers themselves, we can't say if it's one thing or another. It's all speculation until we get a file size as there's no documentation (as far as what I've seen) that indicates whether or not the Wii U can read dual layered discs.
For what it's worth, I do think it's closer to 25, I was just being objective, as there is a legitimate argument for the other side.
@Baker1000 I'm definitely taking advantage of pre-load. Though I have gigabit Internet, so it typically doesn't take very long to download games. I think the largest game which was around 15gb took around 30-45 minutes...
@brewsky because they used almost all of both layers? They never specified file size either. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
Concerning the article: I never thought I'd almost be more hype for a game over Zelda! XCX sounds more awesome by the minute! Hopefully this game is eligible for pre-loading. I'll definitely will be taking advantage of that (even though I'll get physical copy of this as well just to collect.)
@Yorumi Good point, but I'm not all the way sure things would've been better. I think they're trying, but I think the real problem is that each generation, they can't seem to get out of their own way. They don't do a very good job at balancing the innovation/modernization line I brought up earlier.
The N64 should've went disc format. They figure this out next gen, make a powerful system in the GC, but shoot themselves in the foot with the mini disc format.
Though you can't deny the success of the Wii, it was an anomaly. They tried to turn everyone into a gamer. It could have worked, as at least there was a controller attachment to play traditional games, but they shot themselves in the foot by making it nothing more than a souped up GC power wise and then had the whole "No one has an HDTV" mindset. Not to mention horrible online. No one wants to develop with that, so whatever goodwill they had built up with 3rd parties in the GC era jumped ship.
With the Wii U, I want to say they tried to get back on the right track, as they took steps to put them more in line with the competition, but still fundamentally flawed themselves in some way because they want to do what they want . They finally have an HD system, but the system is under powered. They finally had better online, but poor friend and chat implementation (though I do adore Miiverse) and no achievements system in place (for those who care about that) they are making steps in fixing their account system, but still a headache should your system break down. They tried to court 3rd parties initially, but that fell the wayside because of poor/non existent advertising, under powered system, with a different architecture. Then there's the whole region lock issue folks are up in arms about.
I don't want Nintendo to become a 'me too' in the console space, but the best thing they could do next time around is really listen to the needs/wants of the consumer/third parties first, then innovate on top of that. Hopefully I didn't swerve way off topic. My thoughts were pretty fluid. Ha.
@Yorumi I can totally agree with that. Though I did mention hoping that they learn from their mistakes which covers their arrogance.
Though to be fair, had they ever lost their arrogance from the (S)NES days? Lol. They've always done their own thing and really have been clawing since Sony entered the game.
All I can say is regardless of who's "winning" or "losing" I'm just glad I still have machines to game on and I wish for continued success for all three OEMs. As it pertains to Nintendo, it's probably too late for the U, but I hope they learn from their mistakes and bounce back big next time around and give third parties and consumers a reason to invest in a Nintendo system again. Hopefully they'll tow a better line between innovation and modernization. We all know it'll be a sad time for gaming if Nintendo ever bowed out of the game.
@JaxonH@ Spoony_Tech I haven't played a whole lot of strategy games, but I can honestly say STEAM has genuinely piqued my interest. I know I'll more than likely pick it. If noting but to say, "hey Nintendo, I support new IP"
I hear you guys talk a lot about Fire Emblem. Do you have any other suggestions of strategy games I should pick up to get my feet wet?
@JellySplat I suppose my line if thinking is that there would be tons of red and black 3DSs made... At the very least they'll keep supplying/producing them. Why not just do a short production run of limited ones... They don't even have to do it for more than 3-4 months really. Just long enough to fulfill pre-orders and backorders. You gotta think some will eventually get impatient and just get a regular colored one. Lol
I could never get my hands on one. Which in and of itself, I'm not too hurt, because I was on the fence about it anyways (wasn't quite feeling the color). Though it seems like the solution would be to make it a limited edition for X amount of months, then stop selling/producing them. That way it takes power away from scalpers while giving people a chance to procure one if they want one. But I suppose that would kind of take the "limited" out of "limited edition", eh?
Lucario and Rosalina are the only ones that elude me, as I've never been able to pre-order them. I have a feeling I may have to try my luck at importing them or get lucky by winning with a low bid on eBay.
As for the rest, I've pre-ordered them all and haven't received any bad news... Yet.
I think overall, use of amiibo in games are subpar, but I'm just really collecting them because I love Nintendo and they look cool. The fact they work in games is a bonus (backwards thinking, I know... But I feel I'm the target audience Nintendo had in mind. Lol) folks who aren't really that into video games always admire the Pit, Samus and Falcon amiibo I have on my desk.
As far as me using them in games, I unlocked the MK8 costumes and I use them daily in Hyrule Warriors and that's it really. I haven't been bothered to level up in Smash. As far as upcoming games, STEAM looks like an intriguing use, but I haven't decided if I want that game yet. It looks like MP10 will use them well, but I'm not that into MP, but I might get it for Family and friends game night at my place.
@rjejr the faceplates seem like a cash cow according to everyone that wants the standard one I wouldn't be surprised to see Nintendo release the Standard New with a ton of faceplates around E3 time to capitalize on the media attention.
@JaxonH has the full upgrade armor, so he probably wins! Haha
Speaking of settle it in Smash, does the NintendoLife community ever get together for some Smashing? It'd be awesome to lock horns and practice with you guys!
@rjejr you definately have a point about the 2DS, though I wonder how well it has sold and if they would even deem it worthy to even update it to "New" status? Also, could they make the new additions with out making concessions in it's low entry price? I also wonder if they'll even bother to release the Standard New 3DS. We can say "supply constraints", but given that Nintendo is releasing two special edition N3DSes, it almost clear what Nintendo's priority is in the states. They seem content on selling the XLs with the flood of special editions that that's become commonplace with them.
@k8sMum I might as well throw my hat in this cereal convo too. I'm a Cap'n Crunch and Froot Loops guy! The 'hot chicks in bikinis' if they gotta stay on the beach, I'm joining then with cereal in hand!
I'm was hoping to get a MM one , but work kept me from getting one in time so, I locked myself in for a red one should more become available, I'll just switch my pre-order over.
Bought them all (with the exception of SM3DW, as I already have that) interesting note, I was pleasantly surprised that Nintendo has widened the selection of games you can buy digitally on their eShop site. I'm getting my tires changed this morning, and I was able to buy what I wanted while waiting. So suffice to say, it will be waiting for me when I get home...
On a some what related note, I'm upset that I forgot my 3DS at home... I still need to finish A Link Between Worlds. Ha.
I'm getting these games for the fact I don't have to get up and put in the disc (lazy, I know) and at 10 bucks, it's a pretty solid deal. I'll make a net of $5 for galaxy and $2 for prime, so there's that.
@rjejr there's a 17 character limit on naming the Wii U folders, but my OCD won't allow me to stomach words to be split in rows especially when:
@rjejr I was actually considering the Tab 4... Now that I know it has a mono speaker, I'll pass. I'm more keen on the Tab S series anyhow, which I believe have the stereo speakers. That or the Note Pro 12.2... Though I'm tempted to wait until the MWC in March to see if Samsung have any new tablets on the horizon before I pull the trigger on getting a new tablet. This is way off topic, but what can I say? I like talking tech. Haha
EDIT: by the way, I don't think that's petty at all. Gotta go where best your preferences are met, right?
@rjejr just read yours, I was thinking system transfer by binding your hard linked data to the SD, then pop in SD to the target device and binding it to the system memory on transfer. I just wasn't very clear. Haha.
And yea, I could see some sort of class action suit coming. Lol. I think a couple of devices I bought came without an adapter, with the exception of Samsung devices. Though I suppose if you're going to use a proprietary method like Nintendo loves to do, it would be wise to include a charger.
@Spoony that's stupid the way Nintendo makes you jump through hoops, but it is what it is I suppose. Thanks for the info. I'm pretty chummy with my GameStop guys so I'm sure they'll take care of me in that regard. Thanks!
@darthllama Ahhh gotcha! I almost figured as much based on Wii to Wii U system transfer. When I say unlink my NNID I should've been more clear. I was thinking I could at least start the system transfer and then finish when I have the new system. Or is that done by linking the two systems in the same session?
@rjejr I almost think that's where tech is going, even some mobile phones don't package things like headphones and USB cables/adapters anymore because they figure the average have a zillion laying around. I'm thinking Nintendo is banking on the average Nintendo consumer having a DS charger or two laying around somewhere. If not, perfect time for an upsale! We all know GameStop will be the first to let you know so they can sell the normal Joe something extra! Lol
@Spoony good thing I'm forward thinking. I use a micro SD card already for my 3DS XL. So all I have to do is pop out our of the SD adapter and I'll be good to go.
Though one question. I'll be trading my XL in for the newer one, so I can just separate my NNID from the old XL, pop in my micro SD into the New XL and bind my NNID to it and I'll be good to go right? I won't necessarily need both systems in hand to do the system transfer, tight? (I'm noob to that since I've evert only owned one 3DS lol)
Was going to order the MM N3DS but apparently GameStop says it's not available I already have the Black XL, so I guess red it is.
Concerning the lack of AC adapter in the N3DS, it's basically a power play by Nintendo to squeeze more profit from every unit sold and to get the customer to buy an official one separately, thus gaining more profit. Also from the sound of it, the most ardent 3DS owners have at least two already from their previous purchases (you can use one at a time, right?) , so in part Nintendo is making a business decision based on that. It sucks for someone like me who's going to trade in my sole XL for a newer model or for first time buyers, but such is life.
@DESS-M-8 I wouldn't be too mad if they resurrected the NES moniker. Call it the "New NES" or "NES 7". Maybe bring some of the old Nintendo magic back.
@Quorthon I'm not too sure Nintendo even wants to try with the Wii U anymore at this point. If I was a betting man, I think they will probably just get what they can out of it and move on... Though let's just say Nintendo goes all in with the Wii U from this point. Perhaps they should take a page out of Sony's book and form a third party relations division. As we discussed before, everything doesn't have to be a Bayonetta. Or even what Sony has done concerning Street Fighter V (and Ultra IV), I just think they need to be more aggressive in regards for third party support or have a team concentrated solely on that. Heck who knows, if they were aggressive they might have been able to keep RE Chronicals from jumping ship, or able to get the RE HD remake ported over to the Wii U or any number of things, really....
I agree with @ZenTurtle both devices having the same architecture for easier development and portability. To add, tie it all together via NNID. So you purchase games for whatever format you like. Though if they are even thinking about the Fusion rumor that's floating around, I could see a a Gamepad 2.0 device that's standalone but also doubles as the main console controller with all the bells and whistles of the previous one, except with a better screen, micro SD slot for downloads, and a card slot for portable games. Hopefully that would lead to buying a VC or indie game once and saves and everything would link across formats.

@rjejr I get the basic logic of the whole thing, Particularly from a business standpoint. Shulk = Xenoblade Chronicles, a Gamestop exclusive initally. Gamestop paid for that exclusivity, so Nintendo isn't passing up extra money, which probably outweighs what they would have made in amiibo sales being they're being under produced as it is. @rjejr Oh yea. That's what I was hammering at. I can see both points.

Re: Satoru Iwata Reiterates Plans for Quality of Life Platform, and Suggests Potential Moves Into Education
Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to see them get their current house in order though.
Edit: in other news, surely you heard by now that there are reports going around that Netflix is developing a Legend of Zelda live action series??

Re: Satoru Iwata Reiterates Plans for Quality of Life Platform, and Suggests Potential Moves Into Education
I'm all aboard Nintendo trying new things. I'm interested to see what this QoL platform is... Nintendo didn't start off as a video game company. It's absub to think that's where they should stop.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Dated for North America in Flashy New Trailer, amiibo Support Also Confirmed
Re: GameStop Pushes Back Some Wave 3 amiibo Pre-Orders
Lol)
Re: GameStop Pushes Back Some Wave 3 amiibo Pre-Orders
@sakamoto-san they haven't refunded money for my Shulk, so hopefully I'm in a good place... Though I can't help but to think this might not bode well for the rest of my online pre-order bunch now.
Re: Nintendo Lists Formally Tested Micro SDHC Cards for the New Nintendo 3DS
Man I just wish Nintendo would find a way to transfer all your licences to your SD card and lock it until you're ready to lock it to your new 3DS. That way it saves headaches trading your old one in. /rant
For what it's worth I have a Samsung micro SD in mine and it works just fine. Nintendo probably just list the name brand cards to give new customers a piece of mind to make shopping for one easier.
Re: Mega Man amiibo Pre-Orders Reportedly Delayed Into March By Amazon in North America
Re: Nintendo Delays Financial Results Presentation and Q & A Until 17th February
@Quorthon I wouldn't doubt that one bit.
Re: Nintendo Delays Financial Results Presentation and Q & A Until 17th February
Re: Target Won't Be Restocking Rosalina amiibo, Selected Wave 3 Figures Won't Be Available In-StoreÂ
@Quorthon this is what you said:
Re: Ubisoft Launches Yet Another Massive eShop Sale in North America
Rayman Legends and Child of Light for me.
Re: Target Won't Be Restocking Rosalina amiibo, Selected Wave 3 Figures Won't Be Available In-StoreÂ
Haha)
Re: Target Won't Be Restocking Rosalina amiibo, Selected Wave 3 Figures Won't Be Available In-StoreÂ
And we know for sure that limited pressings is what drives up the prices of games like Kirby Dreamland and Prime Trilogy, which is why it fetches so darn high everywhere. but you can also get a nice return on those as well (though the market on Prime has been hurt a bit due to it being available on the Wii U eShop for $20)
Re: Target Won't Be Restocking Rosalina amiibo, Selected Wave 3 Figures Won't Be Available In-StoreÂ
LOL
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
@Porky I was on the fence about getting MP 10, though for 50 and a free amiibo, I suppose it's not a bad deal. But this totally ruins my all digital conquest! Haha
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
@Porky were you able to get Toad? Or Mario? I didn't see Mario in the drop-down menu at all and Toad was unavailable, so I don't know if that means he sold out or what.... that makes me sad on the inside. HAHA
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
@Baker1000 I'm definitely taking advantage of pre-load. Though I have gigabit Internet, so it typically doesn't take very long to download games. I think the largest game which was around 15gb took around 30-45 minutes...
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
Re: Nintendo Stays in Profit With Wii U on Target, Though 3DS Sales Fall
Ha.
Re: Nintendo Stays in Profit With Wii U on Target, Though 3DS Sales Fall
@Yorumi I can totally agree with that. Though I did mention hoping that they learn from their mistakes which covers their arrogance.
Though to be fair, had they ever lost their arrogance from the (S)NES days? Lol. They've always done their own thing and really have been clawing since Sony entered the game.
Re: Nintendo Stays in Profit With Wii U on Target, Though 3DS Sales Fall
All I can say is regardless of who's "winning" or "losing" I'm just glad I still have machines to game on and I wish for continued success for all three OEMs. As it pertains to Nintendo, it's probably too late for the U, but I hope they learn from their mistakes and bounce back big next time around and give third parties and consumers a reason to invest in a Nintendo system again. Hopefully they'll tow a better line between innovation and modernization. We all know it'll be a sad time for gaming if Nintendo ever bowed out of the game.
Re: Poll: Nintendo's Year of Multiplayer Gaming on Wii U and 3DS Aims to Bring Us Together Online and At Home
@JaxonH thanks for the very in depth answer... I'll for sure look into FE: Awakening tomorrow!
Re: Poll: Nintendo's Year of Multiplayer Gaming on Wii U and 3DS Aims to Bring Us Together Online and At Home
Re: Key WayForward Director is Bringing His Solo Project to Wii U
Awesome. If he's bringing his game to just the Wii U, perhaps he should pitch his idea to Nintendo to see what backing he could get from them, if any.
Re: Best Buy Cancellations of Majora's Mask 3D New Nintendo 3DS Bundles Affects More Customers
Lol
Re: Best Buy Cancellations of Majora's Mask 3D New Nintendo 3DS Bundles Affects More Customers
Re: GameStop Cancels European Rosalina amiibo Pre-Orders as the Scrabble for Stock Continues
Lucario and Rosalina are the only ones that elude me, as I've never been able to pre-order them. I have a feeling I may have to try my luck at importing them or get lucky by winning with a low bid on eBay.
As for the rest, I've pre-ordered them all and haven't received any bad news... Yet.
Re: Poll: As amiibo Expands and Evolves, Which Features Are You Most Excited About?
Re: Talking Point: The New Nintendo 3DS Could Be a Huge Success, But Its Route to Release Has Been Rocky
Re: Talking Point: The New Nintendo 3DS Could Be a Huge Success, But Its Route to Release Has Been Rocky
Re: Poll: Which New Nintendo 3DS Will You be Buying?
I'm was hoping to get a MM one , but work kept me from getting one in time so, I locked myself in for a red one should more become available, I'll just switch my pre-order over.
Re: Nintendo Kicks Off a "Throwback Sale" on the eShop in North America
Bought them all (with the exception of SM3DW, as I already have that) interesting note, I was pleasantly surprised that Nintendo has widened the selection of games you can buy digitally on their eShop site. I'm getting my tires changed this morning, and I was able to buy what I wanted while waiting. So suffice to say, it will be waiting for me when I get home...
On a some what related note, I'm upset that I forgot my 3DS at home... I still need to finish A Link Between Worlds. Ha.
Re: Video: Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Wii U Offer Anything New?
I'm getting these games for the fact I don't have to get up and put in the disc (lazy, I know) and at 10 bucks, it's a pretty solid deal. I'll make a net of $5 for galaxy and $2 for prime, so there's that.
@rjejr there's a 17 character limit on naming the Wii U folders, but my OCD won't allow me to stomach words to be split in rows especially when:
streaming
Looks like...

So I just named my TV folder VOD
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
@rjejr I was actually considering the Tab 4... Now that I know it has a mono speaker, I'll pass. I'm more keen on the Tab S series anyhow, which I believe have the stereo speakers. That or the Note Pro 12.2... Though I'm tempted to wait until the MWC in March to see if Samsung have any new tablets on the horizon before I pull the trigger on getting a new tablet. This is way off topic, but what can I say? I like talking tech. Haha
EDIT: by the way, I don't think that's petty at all. Gotta go where best your preferences are met, right?
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
Thanks!
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
@darthllama Ahhh gotcha! I almost figured as much based on Wii to Wii U system transfer. When I say unlink my NNID I should've been more clear. I was thinking I could at least start the system transfer and then finish when I have the new system. Or is that done by linking the two systems in the same session?
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
@rjejr I almost think that's where tech is going, even some mobile phones don't package things like headphones and USB cables/adapters anymore because they figure the average have a zillion laying around. I'm thinking Nintendo is banking on the average Nintendo consumer having a DS charger or two laying around somewhere. If not, perfect time for an upsale! We all know GameStop will be the first to let you know so they can sell the normal Joe something extra! Lol
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
@Spoony good thing I'm forward thinking. I use a micro SD card already for my 3DS XL. So all I have to do is pop out our of the SD adapter and I'll be good to go.
Though one question. I'll be trading my XL in for the newer one, so I can just separate my NNID from the old XL, pop in my micro SD into the New XL and bind my NNID to it and I'll be good to go right? I won't necessarily need both systems in hand to do the system transfer, tight? (I'm noob to that since I've evert only owned one 3DS lol)
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February
Re: Digital Foundry Ponders Next-Gen Hardware Options for Nintendo
Re: Digital Foundry Ponders Next-Gen Hardware Options for Nintendo
@Wouwter I'm sure this is one we can all get behind!
EDIT: for what it's worth, I'm not a Kanye fan myself. But he's the first one I could think of since he's got that shrug down to a science. Haha
Re: Digital Foundry Ponders Next-Gen Hardware Options for Nintendo
@Wouwter will this suffice?
