@8bit-Man Because either Nintendo was clear enough to show people that the other new machines were different while the Wii U was seen as a Wii with an additional screen.
@BTB20 I forgot that the launch titles for the console was also weak. Clearly there were weird decisions during the years of the Wii U. I'm glad that the failure of the console let the making of a good one (the Switch).
IMO, showing the logos of Switch, PS or even Steam in their 'directs' is just a way to attract more people to watch those.
The last time I watched an Xbox showcase was in 2020, just because there was a weird rumour about a Banjo & Kazooie game to be shown but then nothing was shown.
@timp29 There will always be someone complaining about something. In the case of Switch 2, I don't think Nintendo is doing something wrong with the name. There is a developer who specifically said, many months before, that the Switch 2 is an iteration of the Switch 1. This was already clear that the Switch 2 will have the same concept of the Switch 1 but being more powerful, like the New Nintendo 3DS against the Nintendo 3DS.
@TheBigK No thanks... @1UP_MARIO Better being clever but boring instead of confusing with the naming.
@Ravenmaster I don't think this will happen. If Retro Studios finally releases Metroid Prime 4, Nintendo might ask them to make another Donkey Kong game.
@Antraxx777 Didn't Yacht Club Games kinda teased a new Shovel Knight game that goes beyond 2D?
Didn't know this issue until now. The problem is when I played the Wii version, I played the entire game alone. So to me, I didn't notice this feature in Co-Op.
@MrGawain The problem I see in modern videogames development is the difficulty to make original and fun games at the same time. What I mean is, something that people never saw and the videogame is actually a fun, innovative experience to enjoy. In addition to this, if a development studio makes a game that is too similar to another game that was released earlier then they got the guns at them because they aren't original. Remember when the new Astro Bot came out and people started to arguing about the game being similar to a series of Mario games? If every game is going to be criticized by being similar to another then every game is a bad game, which is a very heavy statement IMO.
@FoxyDude The problem of SFZ is not only the controls but also the fact that they reimagined the story for the third time. The story was retold from SF64, which is the best in the series IMO, and continued from that. But then at SFC nothing happen... They re-released SF64 on the 3DS and the sales weren't as they expected because it was 'an HD version of a N64 game'. So to solve the problem they retold the story again with some twists... Which is ok in some part and I do like the new designs but they are telling the same story over and over again. At least in Starlink Battle for Atlas there are some 'continuation' after SFZ, even if it's only some quotes from the game, but that to me is already a good sign of the series going forward.
@boxyguy I don't know if you follow DidYouKnowGaming on YouTube but there is a reason why we didn't get a new DOnkey Kong game for so long. I leave the link to you here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJlu9g8UEAI
@NinChocolate the presentation in the Super Nintendo World? I mean, DK isn't huge as Super Mario or The Legend of Zelda but I'm impressed that Nintendo wanted to expand the park with the DK franchise instead of the Zelda series. Personally, I hope that one day we will see a dedicated section to Star Fox, even tho we need to see a new game first.
@JohnnyMind I don't know if this will ever happen...
@the_beaver Not only from British people... Personally, I never got interested in DQ and probably never will since my time for playing games is reduced a lot since I started working so to me JRPGs are going to be ignored by me because they can take too much time to complete the games, even only to get the base ending.
@IceClimbersMain From my POV I don't consider it a puzzle game and, recently, I have played the game all over again and still found some mini levels challenging.
@DaniPooo I'm hoping for Star Fox.
@ArmenianJedi13 that's difficult but not impossible.
@TheBigK consider that the design of the characters is from the SNES games and they keep it still today. That already is an achievement.
@Baker1000 Me too. It seems tasty.
@Peteykins also Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a deal but I have bought Mario & Luigi Brothership and I prefer to play one game at the time instead of multiple ones because, I'm sure, that I will lose track on what the hell I was doing in the game.
@IceClimbersMain Weaker 3D Mario? Honestly, it's my favorite of all the 3D Mario games I have ever played.
I spent a lot of time with Overwatch 1. I'm downloading the OW2 on the Switch and give it a try.
@Azami I agree with you. OW1 really was magical. OW2 didn't take much attention because, to me, it was essentially OW1. The only thing I liked in OW2 was the event of Mirror Watch.
@WhiteTrashGuy on Switch it's, I think, 22,3 GB. Personally I'm only downloading the game just to play this event.
@JohnnyMind In Mario and Luigi Paper Jam each character has it's on action button.
Mario has A
Luigi has B
Paper Mario has Y
@TopherShmopher yeah I found weird when it's the enemy turn and they instant move at the center before moving at normal speed for attacking. Personally, I got used to it.
@SBandy1 Nope. @I-U I was wondering if, just if, we are going to get also the music from games made by third party companies. Right now I was thinking SNES Doom music.
@larryisaman Glab I'm not on X (Twitter) because I didn't know this was leaked. @PikaPhantom they will always specify on every direct that isn't related to Switch 2.
Music Starts: Here, here, here we go, So they're finally here performing for you, If you know the words you can join in too, Put your hands together if you want to clap, As we take you through this monkey rap,
@Kingy If I remember correctly, there was a first news about he leaving the company and after just one day, or two, another news regarding he doing all that harassment etc. I found it weird the latter news because if he was actually doing this kind of stuff why it wasn't 'public' earlier? Sometimes these types of news should be taken as grain of salt.
Anyway, if he is actually involved for Rayman then it better be something new and not a simple remastered.
@Axecon I don't think the problem was/is the price. The problem might be people who has multiple consoles, not only the Switch, and during that period other games came out and people bought those games instead of ToTK. I still have to buy the game and it's not even on my high priority list.

I bet the reveal will happen on February 2025 since, for now, there aren't any big games from Nintendo coming out in that period. Unless the company will do a direct for the upcoming Switch games with also the reveal of Switch 2, but I doubt about this option.
I'd rather want a new game for the series. Star Fox Zero has good music, but it didn't capture the attention of people because the Wii U didn't sell well and the story is basically a retelling of Star Fox 64, which is also a retelling of the original Star Fox (SNES).

Re: First 4 Figures Teases New Banjo-Kazooie Statue, Pre-Orders Open Next Week
Remember in 2019 when F4F showed a Banjo & Kazooie Statue and then E3 happened and Banjo & Kazooie were added into Super Smash Bros Ultimate?
I have the feeling that something is cooking... Banjo-Threeie on Switch 2? Hardly to happen but nothing is impossible.

@Navi because it's very similar to the Switch 1.

@8bit-Man Then why the Wii U failed?
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"
Remember when the Wii U released and some people thought it was an add-on for the Wii?
Using the number 2 is the simplest, cleanest and easiest solution to name a more powerful version of the Switch.
