@FargusPelagius this was actually rather easy to score unlike some of my previous reviews. We gave Cobra Kai a 7, we gave The Takeover an 8 and we gave Streets of Rage 4 a 9. These were all 2020 new releases and considering how good this one holds up eight years later there was really no other possible score.
@HamatoYoshi It was supposed to come on the same day but on release we got note that it was being pushed a couple of week in Europe, so expect it to drop soonish.
Japan not only wins the cover, it wins the whole game. So much stuff got cut from Jaleco's Western versions of the game and Dead Dance is one of the worse. We got no dialogues between dules and we got no blood as fights went on on character's faces. A real shame, among Jaleco's kusoges this take on Hokuto no Ken was always a guilty pleasure.
Could never quite choose between No More Heroes 1&2 and Killer 7 as my all-time Suda51 favourites. Considering the fact I've done both games to death on Wii seems a little crazy that here I am, flooded in projects and new games, yet... I'm spending all my time petting Jeane again.
PS: Both games incredible soundtrack is often forgotten when people talk about them.
Oh so sorry gents, I was busy all day and somehow missed this one. As I stated on Twitter I have nothing but the utmost respect for Mr. Pachter. I do however feel the need to leave a strong worded reply:
Nearly 100% docked for me. Not only because I feed my YT channel with the latest/greatest Nintendo Switch releases, but because I am flying solo this generation, the Switch IS the de facto single current gen console in my home. Olus I have a giant middle-age crisis LCD screen so its kinda hard to justify taking the Switch anywhere away from the dock. Plus unlike the 3DS it does not fit in my pants pockets.
FAST RMX for moi, between the amazing vistas of Breath of the Wild sessions and the odd jump into Super Bomberman R. when in the need for speed came came crawling FAST RMX was always enought to scratch that hitch.
@rjejr Yes, Knee Lifts are a regular feature every single day and those require some clear space above since you also stretch both arms above your head.
@Ks123 They're great to smash nuts. Also destroy all silly bias towards gamers as a bunch of "lazy coach potatos".
@MeloMan Russian Twists (with your feet in the air, not on the ground!) and a particular level that has you rowing up huge waterfalls are your tickets to abs land!
Discipline put me 300 days straight up to fully complete story mode. After my Summer vacation I now do a custom routine every day for anywhere between 50 to 100 k/cals burned per session.
You bet I'm packing heat under theses guns. Plus I got abs for days, son. Which is something no one ever expected me to ever say or write in my life. Thank you, Nintendo!
@coolwali ... "still going strong"? Yuke's bailed out leaving an inexperienced team to complete a messy bug that came out on the shopes called 2k20, an insult to wrestling fans and video game consumers in general. So much so the sim series is taking and undefined hiatus break while Battlegrounds tries to buy some good graces from the audience. When a Nintendo 64 wredting game made in 1998 (WCW/nWo Revenge) outclasses your current gen wrestling game in every aspect except graphics perhaps it is more than due time to take a long break and rethink the whole "plan".
There is place for both styles of games, or rather there used to be because 2020 is a very strange year and we still don't have Fire Pro Wrestling on Switch. In my life experience as soon as wrestling games became full-on simulation of a pre-determined "sport", the less fun they have become which inevitability lead to the full-crash of WW2k series last year. Now WWE 2k Battlegrounds might not be a masterpiece on the leve of N64 and GameCube wrestling bliss but it is by far a lot more fun than any wrestling simulator released in the past several years.
Now understand that this is not a right or wrong situation, everyone has the right to their opinion and both are valid because in the end its your money and your choice. I will certainly keep carrying on my beliefs in the genre as I'm quite sure you will continue with your own. Plenty of room in the world for both.
@The-Chosen-one It plays more like Freelancer than Rogue Squadron but yes, this game really IS that good. I have hours and hours out of it and only yesterday I installed a jump drive engine and left the first star system. Here is a recent session if you're still on the fence:
